I really appreciate people like her who understand how important our experiences our! I think that helps us in real world settings way more than our formal learning
This is one of those things that benefits EVERYONE. Applicants with fewer "recognized" accomplishments on their resume--but insanely valuable skills and gifts-- become seeable and recognizable for hiring managers. And over time organizations and institutions will learn that will, mindset, true intellect and emotional intelligence are hard to see if you limit the way you look for evidence.
“A+ for moxie!” So good, Jasmine! The un-resume is definitely something that should be considered and talked about more often. Thank you for sharing your mind with us.
Honey, this brought tears my eyes 🥹 I felt EVERYTHING as you were speaking. So proud of you Jas 👏🏾 may God continue to give you His strength as you continue to move forward in boldness and obedience wherever He is taking you next 🙌🏾
The way she talks about "humanizing the hiring practice" is so important, especially with all these AI resume scanners now... We're more than just keywords!!
"Where was the line on my resume for unwavering resilience forged in the fire of adversity and grief?" This line!! What a powerful way to open this discussion on the Un-Resume. I love the Un-Resume and will advocate it as a standard in the workforce. You are amazing Jasmine!! Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Aunt Darlene & Uncle Al Ridgway are very proud of you. We have and still do LOVE and accept you without or with credentials. You are helping inner cities and the poor by saying and DOING PROVERBS 31:8-9, PROVERBS 14:31, PROVERBS 14:21, PSALMS 82:3, PSALMS. When you get to heaven, l can just hear the Lord say to you, we'll done my faithful servant! LOVE you Jazzy❤
The Un-Resume should be a talking point during interviews. I’m going to start asking about it with our applicants. Important concept, and well described, Jasmine!
What an outstanding talk on the importance of the un-resume! Your journey to achieving the great success you have today is absolutely inspiring and remarkable! I'm so proud of you, all of your accomplishments, and your passion to give back to the community. Hiring managers, employers, students, job-seekers, etc. can learn from your grit and determination. It is imperative to know someone's story beyond what's on paper. Keep soaring, my friend!
I'm shook by how much she overcame... Three family deaths in three months while in engineering school? That takes some immense strength to push through
Thank you for this acknowledgement! It was the hardest thing I;ve ever done but I know there are many out there that struggle even more. How can we get their strengths articulated during the hiring process in a meaningful way!?
You Go Jasmine. I appreciate humanizing the hiring practices that sees the whole person ❤. Your tenacity to bet on yourself is an inspiration for us all. Tee🎉
INCREDIBLE! This is such an inspiring talk. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and perspective. As a hiring manager, it challenges how we think about our hiring processes. So insightful!
"Humanizing the hiring practice" what a great message in an age of A.I. screened resumes that can so easily dismiss resilient and creative candidates with the kind of grit and moxie that changes the world! Brava, Jasmine!
I love how this ives an opportunity for everyone to go after any job they want, When they can take the skills they have and apply to whatever they want. Love this new word Un-resume !!! So good !!
I feel so seen. What an incredible talk highlighting the resilient journey and unseen forces that Jasmine LeFlore and so many others from historically excluded communities face as they prepare for the workforce. We truly need a more holistic approach applied to hiring practices across industries. There’s so much value in the “un-resume”! Thank you for sharing your story, Jasmine. So inspiring!
I like the part about "success isn't just about the result, it's the journey we take to get there." Wish there was more recognition for this in the workplace
Thank your for sharing your story so candidly and boldly! You remind us that our paths are hardly straight and narrow. Challenges and unexpected detours don't mean we're off-track either--it's what builds the "un-resume." I can't wait to see the the impact of this Ted Talk and your work for years to come!
Thanks Reetchel! We are whole humans and we should be able to showcase that in a meaningful way for jobs! I believe we will get there one day! Thanks for watching!!!
Thank you for sharing your story! I love the idea of unresume. It is too bad many resumes gets tossed before the conversation. I will share this with my daughter who is going through the college process now. I tell her, tell your story -- she has battled medial issues her entire HS, but I have never seen someone more determined and resilient. Only someone who takes the time to read her story will see the full picture instead of just filter out her application due to her GPA.
So proud of you Jasmine! The Un-Resume needs to be a requirement in the hiring process. This is our path to humanizing our workforce. Congratulations on such a powerful TEDx!!
It occurs to me a certain Presidential Candidate is selling her unresume as much as her resume and it IS WORKING. Vote and Democracy Wins. Look for candidates' with unresumes to enrich our leadership with strength and courage.
What kind of hiring manager is going to be blown away by someone's experiences and think "Don't know if they can do the job, but I love their journey - We should hire them"?
“The un-résumé shows the hidden part of the equation, we often - never see!” Omg dear friend - speak the truth as you live through your absolute value! You just added tax to your resume with this!
her story is incredible - from being told she wasn't "University of Michigan material" to crushing it in aerospace engineering is really amazing!!
I hope to see more leaders like Jasmine who understand the real struggles people face.
I really appreciate people like her who understand how important our experiences our! I think that helps us in real world settings way more than our formal learning
You can tell she's passionate about this, it makes me excited and hopeful but in my industry it's all about formal experience

This is the definition of grit and perseverance. Her un-resume is probably 10x more impressive than her actual resume!
Doing the UN resume would really help you stand out. Definitely doing it for my next application!
Her approach really humanises candidates and acknowledges their unique paths.
Thank you! Yes - we are more than just numbers and similar job descriptions. We have depth but usually we never get to show it in a screening.

Could be the key to a more diverse and encouraging workplace.
The way she talked about running the same race but with landmines in her lane made me choke up. That's so touqh.
It occurs to me a certain Presidential Candidate is selling her unresume as much as her resume and it IS WORKING. Vote and Democracy Wins. Look for candidates' with unresumes to enrich our leadership with strength and courage.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm sure that most resumes never even get looked at. Maybe the first few lines get skimmed at best
What kind of hiring manager is going to be blown away by someone's experiences and think "Don't know if they can do the job, but I love their journey - We should hire them"?
Well when I was hired I said I answered all the technical questions which showed I could do the job ... I am not saying don't consider that part
Managers might actually read the whole thing if resumes were presented like this...
“The un-résumé shows the hidden part of the equation, we often - never see!” Omg dear friend - speak the truth as you live through your absolute value! You just added tax to your resume with this!
Thank you for watching friend and acknowlegding the equation!!
I don't know if employers are equiped to process a nuanced resume.
can we make the un-resume a real thing please? imagine how many amazing candidates we're missing out on bc of stvpid automated systems
We really need it!! Thanks for watching!!
Honestly the whole process of resume related applications is outdated and most jobs come from your social network anyway
Can employers really assess a good candidate from this?
This talk must go viral! This talk must change the world and anyone who is applying for a job or anyone that is hiring someone! Brilliant!!!
