    Mukhari is raagam for expressing sorrow. Violinist along with raaga aalapana her expression on her face resembles sorrow. Such an involvement both music and raaga

    As a small correction, this particular padam is not a composition of Kshetrayya, but rather Muddu Natesa. Kshetrayya's mudra "muvvagopala" is missing, whereas Muddu Natesa's mudra appears prominently at 28:05.

    These days, TMK bares his soul with the nuances of his fabulous slow music. Every classical Indian dancer has a lot to learn from his TOTAL involvement in his music.Akkarai provides the most appropriate and sensitive accompaniment.

    Wow, very nice. TMK is very expressive too, that is positive for a successful performance.
    You see, when Kishori Amonkar dies in your universe; you ought to take a pause in life. Where would you find anything which can fill that gap?
    I have no qualifications to say whether TMK or others fill the void left behind by Kishori A. All that I know is when I see TMK and the young crew; our traditions in Hindustani and Karnatanki Music may not be all that brittle. These young people are the ones who will give us that peace, bliss and joy going forward.
    Thank you TMK and Team. Please keep up (and thanks for sharing with the wider global audience).

    I agree 100 percent, Anu Lakshman. The Bhavas are different. Also, no raga relies entirely on Swaras and they serve only as guides and not as a strait jacket for the Manodharma dominated music.

    An excellent rendition! However this padam is not a composition of Kshetrayya. It is a composition of Muddu Natesa. His mudra comes ather prominently in the charanam. Please correct the description! Kshetrayya's padams in Mukhari are many, like Akkaraleni Kapuramaye. This is not Kshetrayya's.

  • @adityajois2019
    @adityajois2019 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Please rename the video as RAAGA/RAAGAM Mukhari. Calling it Raag gives the wrong idea since it is a different form in Hindustani Classical Music. I have never in my life heard such a slow rendition of any carnatic composition. I consider myself blessed to be listening to this.

    • @KRNSwamy

      This is a Kshtragyar Paam. The nature of Padam is to sing very slowly. Padam are generally sung by Brinda and Mukta. But this singing by T.M.Krishna beats then hollow.! A
      divine rendition.....by janaki swamy

    Mukhari is similar to Kafi in Hindustani music?

    • @bhargavram3480
      @bhargavram3480 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No equivalent of mukhari exists in hindustani

    • @bhargavram3480
      @bhargavram3480 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TBQH i'd discourage you from seeing it in terms of equivalents. For example, yaman raga of hindustani is considered equivalent to kalyani of carnatic but the 'feel' of the two melodies is totally different.

    Bhairavi, Husieni, Mukhari....There are a lot of similarities.... I do not know much music, but people can correct me, if I am wrong.... Mukhaari is considered as a SHOKA RAAGA, but it is not so....

    • @srivatsansridhar64
      @srivatsansridhar64 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of them are similar ragas with some differences. Yes generally Mukhari is considered to be the raag for crying, however it can be presented without that emotion also

    • @ganesanbala7283
      @ganesanbala7283 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      konalisa123 Mukhari and Bhairavi may sound very similar, particularly in Avarohanam, but they are very different in Arohanam. Mukhari's notes in Arohanam are: Sa ri ma pa da ni da sa while Bhairavi has notes, sa ga ri ga ma pa da ni sa. Please note, both ragas use both Dhaivatams, in the Arohanam Chatusruti Dhaivatam and in Avarohanam Suddha Dhaivatam.

    This genius and crack fellow TMK should be devoted to karnatic music only and should not sell his talent to Christianity and Muslims for moneys sake.
    If he doesn't correct himself he will become unpopular and real karnatic music lovers will hate and i avoid him.
    I love his talent and expertise but don't support his other activities.

    Worst mukhari ever heard. TMK is a crook and thinks too much .How people praise and talorate him.Hear Musiri ,semmangudi, Nedunuri,voleti ,MDR ,KVN,MS, DKP, DKJ, many others this Raga. Beatiful raga is suffering under him .and his nice voice too is tortured. May God bless him to leave ego and get good wisdom so that he can do something to music

    Not at all good. One of the worst rendering of Mukhari ever heard. I am wondering how people just praise someone even when they perform sub standard. Please type in Mukhari in youtube and listen to the many mukharis sung so well. Akkarai should stop accompanying this sub standard concerts.
