My favorite clips are @ 1.49, great song and Gabrielle and Anthony on the far right make it look soooo easy ;-) Then @ 3.48, the Syndney Swing Katz seem to always be up for some great dancing, I love their competitive Boogie Woogie dancers Sam and Olly since I saw their performance at the RTSF 2019 finals (those who want to check them out look for the girl in a white flowery dress with the guy in a blue suit starting in the first round).
An interesting video and concept, well done for that. However I gotta wonder about your apparent bias towards America, eg Canada, are you based there (Quebec ?). I'm in the uk, we've been driving the so-called "rockabilly revival" here since the 1970s, throughout the 80s and 90s it was only the UK, and parts of Europe especially Scandinavia, France and Germany, who had a proper rockabilly scene, which is why we (UK) invented the whole weekender etc trend which has caught-on around the world. In those days the Caister and Hemsby weekenders attracted fans from Europe and more latterly America. Londoner Tom Ingram (the organiser/deejay of Hemsby) then moved to California and started the Viva Las Vegas weekender in 1997, and that kickstarted American interest in the music they'd virtually forgotten about, apart fro a few small events in say Austin Texas. Probably the best and most famous Jive Schools in the UK, historically speaking, were in London, namely Kav Kavanagh's, and also Colette and Robin who were teaching for years in the 90s and 2000s, before they started the Ryhthm Riot and more recently Atomic weekenders, and have just restarted their famous Maddy's Jive School. Hope this is of interest Tony. th-cam.com/video/snYQxPVwX5M/w-d-xo.html
Tony is from Montreal and they indeed seem to have an avid Rockabilly Jive scene all over Quebec. Rockabilly Jive is even part of the CSC (Canadian Swing Championships) while here in Switzerland it is completely ignored by every and the last dancing school. The only way to learn it is basically through crash courses at rockabilly events.
@@tonybegoodportfolioanthony4403 actually its "Livin Lovin Doll", completely different song than "Living Doll", and yes its by Cliff Richard - he never had an "s" on the end of his surname, altho many people thought so even in 50s UK lol. A deejay should really know the names of the tunes he's playing lol. From a uk rockabilly fan from the 70s
