    Re the camera mount at 03:00, I was years ahead on that.
    In the 70s I built my own mount using 3 pieces of 1-1/2" aluminum pipe and a threaded "tee".
    My Canon F1-N camera was mounted to a 400mm lens (Russian, I don't remember the name, but it had decent optics, cost $40, f/5.6 to f/22), sometimes used with a 2X converter. The lens provided mounting for itself and the camera.
    My mount extended a few inches beyond the front of the lens to sit on any available surface, and far enough rearward to rest on my shoulder. It had a handle with a built-in cable shutter release.
    It wasn't fancy, but wasn't expected to be. It was rugged, cheap costing about $10 and took an hour to build, and worked great on things like wildlife, particularly birds and small animals.
    I took it to a race in Charlotte, NC where we lived at the time, and 400mm would only get a couple of racers in view at a time. Lots of magnification, too much in fact.
    People didn't know what it was. In those days not everyone used a 400 (or 800) mm lens on a homemade mount.
    800 mm with ASA 25 Kodachrome was a handful, even in bright daylight, equivalent to f/32.

    What a great video. I see so many videos like "Top 10 gadgets you NEED to buy" or some stuff like that, but then you watch the video and think "9/10 of these are completely useless, and the last one might be useful in extremely niche situations".
    But a lot of the things in this video wasn't misleading in any way. There were so many super interesting inventions, albeit a lot of them are still in the early stages. But that just makes me really excited to see which ones end up becoming the next big thing. Will I fly around in the flying cab? Will I drive around in the Hydrogen car with 6 replaceable batteries? Or will I play piano with a 6th finger? Or maybe all of them? So many cool futures to look forward to!

    For the last product, the chainmail shoes, you say that the only think to consider is the price, but for someone who has worn full chainmail, I can tell you that it is not the only thing you have to consider, if you wear them barefooted, they will start pulling the hairs out of your feet, so they are going to be a painful experience if you are not shaving your feet regularly for them

    • @3.k
      @3.k 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can imagine that these are not conventional chainmail, but rather a metal fabric. If there are no links moving against each other, your hair doesn’t get caught. My guess.

    Love the 6th finger concept and see no reason it couldn't be extended to 7th or 8th fingers. Imagine how insane some musicians could get with these additions? I have a weak left pinky and it has always limited my guitar playing so that I avoid certain chords. With 6th finger, that problem could be mitigated quite readily.

    • @mikebeck9844
      @mikebeck9844 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Nice idea but potentially not possible. Your hindbrain actually changes in response to the sixth finger by being slightly less precise when directing your fingers. On the positive side, you gain "normal" control so it works just like your others. On the negative side, fine motor control suffers a little. If you were to add even more, I suspect that none of your fingers (real or additional) would be precise enough to play an instrument.

    • @AndreaDingbatt
      @AndreaDingbatt 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Quick thought,,,(My hubby is a musician, plays guitar amongst other instruments,)
      If you avoid certain chords because of your pinky,,,maybe learning some power chords to compensate?
      Or possibly use a more simplified version, whereby you dont use the pinky finger at all? Youu will find a way around it anyways.xx

    finally they start producing hydrogen cars which are the world's best invention and the world's best thing for the earth and its climate and environment, since the hydrogen car is 100% better for the climate and environment than an electric car is (since it sucks more than a regular fuel car). The water car is the future of nature.

      Capitalism and racism combine to make this condition.
      Capitalism keeps wages as low as possible so less people are likely to take the job, as well as making some jobs more dangerous by skimping on safety equipment or safe staffing/work life balance, or Healthcare and retirement for particularly dangerous or grueling jobs. It also keeps education required for certain jobs expensive reducing the number of people who qualify.
      Racism and xenophobia keeps people who are looking for jobs and might take the more undesirable ones from migrating to meet the demand.
      Yay!

    Finally they are getting that some people have bad vision. I also cannot see like everyone else so if they are projecting two of the same pics in both lenses that will be difficult if not impossible for my brain to process. I can see out of one eye at a time.

    wave delineator? (20:30 min) Looks dangerous. How does the wave react when cars drive over it? Could it then happen that the Wave line is dragged along and hit a cyclist in the meantime? Or the cyclist who ends up with a pedal and then falls on the roadway? It seems like a very bad solution to me.

    Anti bacterial door handles are not an innovation. Ever heard of copper/brass?
    copper-based alloy surfaces have the ability to destroy a wide range of microbes and bacteria relatively rapidly - often within two hours or less.
    "coatings" wear off. 🤨 and what mystery chemicals are they using to achieve this? Are they safe?
    I do like the handle design otherwise.

      @@LC-sc3en I don't think Canada, the US, or Mexico has the draft. Most first world countries prefer professional volunteer troops who can be highly educated for today's high tech equipment. It isn't a cannon fodder situation for them. It's not the generals who want to bring back conscription. Look at the mess in Russia's military.

    • @briangerrits1454
      @briangerrits1454 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that any country with military conscription would do well to try to find the most creative of them and offer them a chance to work on some R&D project.
      In the U.S. 99% of money marked for various groups of kids goes to kids who are somehow malfunctioning, It's not smart to largely ignore fostering potential geniuses. One smart kid with one good idea would likely benefit a country / humanity more than the output of the bottom 20% combined. @@LC-sc3en

  • @wordelo

    8:45 Honestly was thinking about this solving the problem of waiting to charge an electric vehicle. Let's say we buy an electric mower. Some come corded, giving you lasting power that will never run out, but you'll have to deal with the cord. Since we can't drive an electric vehicle with a cord attached unless we drive in a system like bumper cars, we have to go battery. Buying a lawn mower with a battery usually comes with two batteries. one in the lawn mower and one charging. when we run out of power we simply swap the batteries. Next challenge is to reduce the size of the battery and increase the power in it to make it comparable to gasoline cars.

    I used a brand of clothing where they made lots of the clothing last for multiple sizes. It would start being a loose and breezy's dress and grow with the child into a tunic and then a shirt. The problem is little kids destroy clothes so they're not going to last too much longer than they can wear them anyway. (This brand did make sturdier clothes so they did last at least a year to 18 months of use).
