Don't forget that you don't need to thumb rounds into your Rival mags; they're designed so you can put rounds on a table and, holding the mag upside-down, push the mag on top of the rounds on the table to load 'em up quickly. I've tried this along with the Apollo and honestly I like the Apollo better... as a pistol/secondary. I got the Helios expecting it to feel like a pistol but with a return spring, however the weight of it and the weight distribution made holding it like a pistol feel awkward. I think the Helios satisfies the springer-primary option, and the Apollo satisfies the pistol-secondary option.
I think if I was to make a complete upgrade mod for this into a primary, I would add a pump-action arm that disconnects at the fully-back position, to eliminate some of that human error. That, plus a slightly longer stock (personal preference) and springs would be about perfect for me.
I appreciate the video review, it was because of your review that i went out and bought a helios. I had always been a fan of the rival series based on off their design and accuracy, but found the double priming action for the apollo a little annoying. Is the Helios supposed to sound like it is dry firing even if it is loaded? Mine is pretty loud when firing with or without a round loaded. Please someone tell me cause I would like to return it if it is defective.
I actually have this blaster at home, and my family forbids me from firing it while there’s people in front of me. They make me treat it like a real firearm.

A fun competition would be the Helios vs the Hera! SMG vs SMG! Just to note, I have noticed that aftermarket magazines tend to not fit the Helios because the aftermarket magazines are a bit too wide for the Helios. I have only noticed this problem with the Helios and not any other blasters. Furthermore, I would say that the problem lies with the aftermarket magazines and not the Helios itself. So, just to be aware. Also, I would recommend not forcing an aftermarket magazine to fit the Helios as the magazine will get jammed and then you will have to play with it in order to get it out because it is too wide for the hole.

I just got my first Rival gun for my birthday yesterday (yeah, my bday is april fools) and I actually meant to get this but got the Mandalorian Apollo instead. These things sound like actual freaking guns and I can't believe the punch they pack. I love Rival
Coop doesn’t mention this in his video but the trigger does not slide straight back, it pivots at the top, and the trigger is relatively sharp, meaning that I found this blaster quite uncomfortable to use. The grip is also much larger than something like a Kronos and it’s also quite sharp.

Hey hey, Love the channel love the videos and love the reviews. I love the rival series, and more directly a fan of the springers, I am old school. I recently bought a Kronos, and a Helios. And, Well, I have one hell of a lot to say. First off, IMHO the handle/grip on the Apollo is 100% better than the Helios, simple satisfaction in the feel. The trigger is 100% better on the Apollo, simple feel, smoother, and better in every way. (I intend to buy a 2nd one, and then return one, to find out if I got a faulty unit.) The Magazine release on the Helios is borderline obtrusive, and is simply excessive, there was no reason to make it bigger and orange. The size difference is marginal, but the weight difference is significant. I bought the Helios for the side bolt, the spring loaded return, and hopefully a set of gears without a history of stripping (although my Apollo has had 0 issues. ) I like the slide/bolt action I like the spring return, However, I believe I would have been happier with the metal gears in a Phantom Corps Apollo If all the kids are using 7 shot springers, there is no "pay to win" and I do not need a 200 round Gatling gun. I will update when I find out if the trigger action is "normal" or a flawed gun. I have had zero jams, I have had NO issues with the spring return, and I have had no user errors. After using an apollo, one is accustomed to making sure the slide goes all the way forward.
