I play Genshin and HSR and holy shit. I hope you guys who play only HSR are happy with the harmony mc, this was an absolutely crazy, both in story and cutscene, introduction to a new path. Which Genshin (and i'm not trying to memeing here) never could deliver over those 3 fucking years. And not only that, but man the harmony MC is fucking broken lmao
this is not VA's choice, but voice director's. also, i think that emotion/energy is not always needed for some characters. for me it seems that VD have chosen to show MC's in different ways with Caelus being the energetic one and Stelle the calm one (though she still shows some energy sometimes)
makes me so sad that people regret picking Stelle as their MC because she's "emotionless" (which is not true, and some characters don't need to sound energetic all the time). i'm glad that voice directors made a difference between her and Caelus, it makes them more individual than just being the male/female version of the same protagonist
I kept hearing people talk about how "Caelus is waaaay more expressive and Stelle shows no emotion" and had to look up a side by side comparison because I didn't know what they were talking about. Now I see what they're griping about. Let's clarify something. BOTH MCs are showing the EXACT same amount of emotion. But here's what people are FAILING to notice. Caelus has sharper and more defined facial features, thicker brows, narrower eyes and even the little line/crease on his lower eyelids. Stelle has softer facial features, her lips are paler, her brows are thin and her eyes are large and round with less defined pupils. These are COMMON stylistic choices found in designing ANIME characters to distinguish MALE from FEMALE.😂 It's not WHO'S showing more emotion but rather HOW that emotion is being perceived based on PERSONAL interpretation. Basically just say you like the male design better because it appeals to your preferences rather than start a pointless argument that has a logical explanation.😮💨
Period like wtf. People can choose the male mc and it’s their personal preference. But to literally say that whoever chooses the female mc they are boring like how the mc is boring. Like wtf I love these types of character like omfg Stelle is litterally Mikasa and Levi personality, and you’re telling me you don’t like those types of mc? Get it right bitch idrgaf.
You're basically affirming that caelus does express more emotion, just adding the reasoning that it's because of stylistic character design choices. Which I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of.

But when you look at them side by side they're clearly doing the exact same expressions. Stelle's softer facial features just don't stand out as much as Caelus's more defined ones

Caelus eng va is doing such a great job. For me, his cutscenes are always better with him.
As someone who's using EN Dub i love Stelle more that Caelus, and there's never a regret cus i love whatever MC i chose.
