I when I first saw this video I really thought you had some prejudice against wits but I after I watched it I couldn't agree more. From my First Year up until I finished my first degree at wits I only made friends with one person, I only started to know a lot of people in my Honours. I remember going to CCDU for counselling because in 3rd year I was so depressed and had no friends. Wits is a very anti-social place and if you are not part of a certain group and you are shy you will struggle a lot.
You worse, you can't do parallel and Allen docking parking duh.
This got real personal babes... Could you possibly do another video on academic reasons as to why you prefer UCT? My sister left UCT to come back to Joburg because she wasn't getting depth in her undergrad... I personally felt that this video got on the emotional side of you.

This video was so relatable! I transferred from Wits to the University of Sussex in the UK. I think we had very similar experiences and reasons for leaving

You guys do know both universities have dropped considerably over the years in world rankings unfortunately S.A is not producing high quality post graduates.
As a wits alumni, I kinda agree with you on the social aspect 🥺🥺 I think I made no more than 5 friends my entire 4 years there. I'm at UCT since last year, but coz of covid, I haven't had the UCT experience 😭😭😭😭 and it makes me sad. I must say the first shock for me was the open campus 🤣🤣🤣 listen, I was so used to Jozi maximum security...

I think lots of things need to be considered. Every faculty and degree programme opperate differently. I am doing health science at Wits and have only good things to say about my experience there, the resources I have and the people I have met. At the end of the day you do what feels right to you.
Hi, I know this is completely random but I haven't had a chance to speak to anyone studying health Sciences at wits, if you don't mind, could you briefly share your experience and the job opportunities asides from possibly studying medicine you can acquire from studying health science.
@@celeste9893 Sure no problem. I am a third year BHSc student. Our council and faculty have arranged several expos both when choosing majors for third year and towards the end of our degree. The majors you choose largely will affect the honours courses you can apply for. In terms of employment most companies require you to have an honours degree at least to work somewhere. Everything was well arranged when it came to honours with many of the programs explaining to future content to be covered and what course of action one would need to take if one wanted to do something specific like becoming a foresic scientist. Many of the honours course packages we received described at least 3 career paths from each course that was avaliabel to us.

Wits is on the number 1 spot now "jokes on you" I'm just kidding, but my personal experience is that there's a lot of segregation and antisocialism, but as an introvert that was heaven for me
Lol that first sentence 😂🙈 I’m an introvert too but yeah not having a social like outside of just my school work put me into a depression. That’s for me give me zero when it comes to wits.

People need to understand that the results they see on the internet is based on many ratios i.e Graduate employability, Academic Standard, International Exposure, Alumni, The resources etc. The fact is there are many things Wits is better at than UCT and vice versa..However UCT is better on average

Comparing your 1st ND 2nd yr is insane... You already had that varsity experience from wits.. Not taking anything from UCT but people are failing more at wits, I've been to uct for my first 2yrs

Ironic how you say UCT is harder than Wits,however i got accepted for actuary at uct for first year but couldn't get accepted for Wits actuary...You're comparing 2nd year with first year,what a most sensible thing to do
The opposite happened to me, got accepted ko wits for actuarial science not UCT but still went to UCT for Statistics

Lol I've got degrees from both and WITS and UCT are incomparable. UCT academically and in terms of resources is far better..
@@inamkula4210 and Sive says exactly the opposite of what you are saying😂...Sive is a guy I know who first completed an law degree at UCT, and now he's doing another degree at Wits
I think everyones experience is different and this is purely based on my experience and how i felt at both institutions. And this is also very much based on environment rather than academics. School is school it will always be a challenge regardless of the institution. Dont get me wrong i think wits is a great school just not for me, joburg in general tbh

Ego & pride always get in the way of creative thinking. I really believe it's hard to compare those 2 universities cause it depends on the programme/course you are taking. But anyways I'm a Witsie now your thinking is shutdown.

Hi babe, yes it is but depending on the college you went to and degree, you would probably need to start over or do extra courses to catch up credits
