My L405 has the trailer tow package which means I have a full-size spare. Although I do a lot of DIY work on it, lifting out that spare is just not a job my back could withstand without injury. Thanks for the L405 videos. Very little on TH-cam.

Another great video! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 2017 L405... thanks in part to you! I bought the vehicle a week ago and a new battery was put in it but I don't know if it was reprogrammed. I kind of doubt that it was. Would you recommend that I go ahead and reprogram it now?
I have a 2018 Range Rover Sport Supercharge and I am getting a "Low Battery Start Engine Error". Do I need to change the main battery out like you did? Landrover wants to charge me $600 to change a battery out (not sure which one) and says that I cannot do it because they need to replace the battery so that I do not lose SETTINGs. What settings and is that true? I want to save money, please advise.

The I you for your video , I just changed my battery yesterday on my 2018 Range Rover SuperCharge . The dealer want to charge me $380.00 for labour but I did it in 20 minutes .
On my Autobiography 2016 the boot /trunk keep opening and alarm going off at the same time. The car starts up fine, which means battery has power to start the engine. Because I have a second car and don't do much driving with this one the battery power drops and causes that. A powerful battery charger of at least 15 amp can come in handy to stop the alarm going off and driving the neighbours mad especially at night.
Loved your video and it goes to say you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to replace a battery. I would love to know about replacing the second (Stop/Start) battery on a L405. Most videos are about Range Rover Sport but not Supercharged and a mechanic told me it is not worth the money to replace because it is hidden somewhere.
It is located behind the panel on the right/starboard side of the luggage compartment. Just in front of the indent. The cover is easily removed by pulling it straight out. Just grab at the vents located at the top of the indent. It's easier to replace than the main battery.
Thanks for the video. My battery died but the problem is, I think, with a dead battery I can't work the electric rear door lock. I was able to lock the door. Not could I operate the electric lock on the glove box which is where my owners manual resides. I can jump the car from the battery terminals located under the hood, I guess that is why there are terminals under the hood.

It's most likely because the battery in the key has run out. If you hold the key against the left side of the steering column, it should be able to detect it.
@@rhkavli thanks for reply it was because I had removed the roof lining to replace the curtain air bags so had unplugged the wiring loom that connects to the aerial as soon as I put it back together it was all good . Placing the key on the steering column worked a treat to start the vehicle when it said smart key not detected 👍

Hi when you remove batter, there was a cable with socket on right hand side near + I just wonder what this cable is used for ? Also is it normal stay without any plugs ?
Same issue on mine. I think it may be the stop/start connection and he has disconnected it to avoid this feature- but I’d like to reconnect mine and can’t locate where the other end of the plug goes.
Hi Alex! I changed battery myself on my l405 2013 range rover supercharged 5.0 liters and now I have Suspension fault and Adaptive Dynamics fault. Any idea how to fix? Went to mechanics, they set battery how it suppose to be, but did not fix suspension. It is not working. In a couple days adviced to leave car with them. I'm sure it is smth small and easy fix, but they will charge me a lot )))
@@Alexfixty Not just start stop, but it will also provide extra power when the main battery is running low. This may be when the FBH has been running in combination with cold weather. Additionally the auxiliary battery for cars fitted with start/stop is different from those not having start/stop.

You strictly don't need to reset the BMS, but it's advisable, since it will optimize the charging profile for a new battery, so you'll get a better lifespan out of it.

I had a new warrantied agm battery changed only weeks ago. Since then it has not gone into auto stop mode. Granted most of the driving has been in city and no more than 10 miles. Thoughts?
@@Alexfixty other than a dealer what are my options to find one at an Economical price? Is it exist v12 14 ah? How is the island life. For some it’s a dream. So cal is great but it’s overly crowded. Lastly did your car on a single lock chirp? Mine only does it on fob double clicking the button.
Island is awesome. I’m not sure where to get a battery to be honest, I was happy that my start/stop stopped working lol and I never changed the secondary battery.

No. You only need to change the one that is bad. They operate on totally different charging circuits, so they are maintained separately.
But problem when better deal I can not Open tailgate....do you have any idea how to open.

You may have a fuse that goes to your OBD II. Check that. If there is a fuse and it's blown it won't communicate.

You might want to check the fluid level
@@1985Abimael The suspension is air only, so no fluid level to check. The adaptive dynamics is hydraulic, but that was fixed.

Alex my Range rover is stuck in drive and all the videos lend to it being due to low voltage. If I change the battery will it cure this problem.

It’s icarsoft lr2, I think it should work with your 2016 RRS. Check their website, but buy on Amazon or Walmart, it’s twice cheaper there👍

Don’t think it would save much to be honest, most likely that feature would kill the starter 5 times faster

What the hell is with the Brits putting batteries in the back? At least my Sunbeam battery is easy to get to. My TD6, not so much
Battery in the back lasts longer, away from heat of the engine, also frees up space for other components.
My L322 had the battery at the front, and it was hell to replace, compared to the L405.
