Unbelievable power session, heading straight onto wildhunter to pick up a couple of those minnows and a rubber net! Sick of battling with getting hooks out of my old net 😂
Great content as usual. I'm from Cork myself and have switched to spinning since last season. Trying to find info on the best trout lures to use in Irish water is very hard to come by. Your tips are greatful thank you. Would love to see more videos about best trout lures to use and best types to buy etc. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Senan, do you mostly use sinking lures the salmo, sukari, siek etc. On small rivers. I find sinking better because on small rivers you lose the first half meter getting a floating lure to start working . Look forward to next video 🎣🎣👍👍
Yes Richie always generally sinking lures with me, it makes it easier to fish them with more of an aggressive twitch, the trout kinda like that pause suspended movement they give, the floating ones are a bit too gentle !
Ive been fishing a little river in meath for about 2 months, on and off. Caught nothing at all. Watched one of your vids yesterday, went a bought a little mepps spinner today and caught 9 trout in hour an half 😂 Cheers!
Hi senan, I've watched most of your trout spinning videos and I'm always amazed you don't run into sea trout and salmon more often when you are out. Do these rivers not have them 🤔
Hi Hugh, no unfortunately there’s no salmon in these rivers, the dam at the start of Lough derg at ardnacrusha makes sure of that 👎 never seen a salmon in these rivers and that’s fishing them over 20 years. Shocking really.
Brown trout for all their evasiveness and fighting prowess are lazy. Really, they are being efficient with their energy. They like to hang out anywhere there is cover and slower water next to a flow. Think of the river as a conveyor belt bringing them food - typically the brown likes to sit just off it, facing upstream and zipping in and out for morsels. Behind rocks, logs, under branches and overhangs are prime areas for decent trout. Along with verges, the head of a pool, and where it funnels out are also key holding points. The aeration bubbles tell you where the food & insects are moving in the water column. Watch for dead water and vegetation cover close to bubbles. That's where the old sly fox will be holding up. Rainbow's on the other hand are known for getting stuck into heavier flows, sharing feeding zones, and rooting around on the bottom. Three things the brown prefers not to do. As my old man used to say, you have to stalk brown trout. Because they are stalkers themselves.

Awh nightmare to get the hooks out sometimes 😂
Those minnows were completely sold out, they are popular to say the least 👌
Everyone rates the salmo minnow super high 👌😎
Great video again 👌🏻 keep em coming. Love watching when I can’t get to the river ✌🏻
Thanks pal 👌
Great video some lovely trout once again they really do love that lure keep up the great work
Savage little lures, and really not so expensive compared to a lot of lures !
Wudnt mind the price if you can catch as many as u with them haha

Thank you! Will do a video on lures and setups soon, have a lot of different trout lures for different occasions ☺️👌
@@senanstanleyfishing prefect thank you
Good fishing depends on the baits. The best part of your video is the display of clear view of baits used
Thank you very much
Picked up the Salmo Trout Pack last season. They're deadly!! Another great vid brother!! Cheers 🤙🏻🍻
Thank you! Salmo have some fantastic lures!
@@senanstanleyfishing That they do indeed!!
Your camera work rivals your fishing skills. Stunning videos.
Thanks Michael! Them river sessions are lots of fun!!
Excellent video dude very handy for someone who has only started to get back into fishing after 10years keep the videos comming
Thanks pal I’m glad you enjoyed it !
short and sweet. some good trout there senan!
Hard to beat them little rivers after a small bit of rain 😁🎣
Great trout waters! I have a similar setup new for me (6 lb braid/ 6 lb fluorocarbon leader). Have you used soft plastic swim baits on trout?
Perfect set up, you don’t need anything heavy for trout 👌
Ya I use the Libra lures sometimes, when there’s a bit of colour on the water
Class Senan, enjoyed that.
Thanks Kieran !
❤

Can you do a video of your set up, knots, how you attach your braid to the leader etc. nice one ✌🏻
I will do 👌🎣
Class fishing lad.
Thanks bud ✌️
Magnifique poisson 👍
Thank you ☺️
Loving these latest videos which have more technique talk
Thanks man 👌 People will be sick of me talking by the end of the year 😂🤝
@@senanstanleyfishingy mat dy vid turned into a bit of a technique one. Some perch in an urban pond
Hey Senan. Love the videos. When will u be announcing the winner of the 5000 subscriber giveaway
I’m writing out the names tonight, it’s taking a long time over 400 entry’s, will make a video tomorrow for it ✌️
I think we'll have to call you the "Trout whisperer" for now on Senan! 👌👍🏻
Haha thanks Sean, I’ve been called a lot worse 😂👍

@@senanstanleyfishing sadly true. there's some say the dam killed a lot of the midlands rivers.
It’s ruined it big time, they used to make it up the rivers near me, not anymore.
Somehow got unsubscribed and missed all of your recent videos 😳
Love the setup 👌
Hey Senan. When are you going to try out the bfs rod on the river?
I will do Etienne! I’m just waiting on my micro split ring pliers to change across some single hooks onto the wobblers first 👌
@@senanstanleyfishing Ok! Thank you
Do you have any links where I can get the rod and reel from?
wildhunter.ie?sca_ref=3939922.CmiiEIUUGK
I think they are currently sold out from wildhunter at the moment
Hey Senan, do you ever not catch?!
Hey man! The trout always stop by for a quick photo, they are a sound bunch 😁🤝🎣
Do trout prefer rapid water? Or is it just pools either side?

@Garry McGauran I think I would prefer a more comprehensive answer.
Just kidding. Excellent response. Thanks a whole bunch😊

I was going to answer this until I seen Garry’s detailed response, love it, can’t add much to that 😁👍
@Senan Stanley Fishing Thanks guys 🫡
Went to the rivers after watching your videos. Great fun but left half my lures up in the trees. Wild hunter will make a fortune off me. 😩
That tree will be worth a few quid 😂👌
