I think Brian Setzer should be appreciated even more for his greatness on guitar. He's technically gifted and should be one of the best in the music industry, regardless of genre.
Always always loved this guy from first hearing Stray Cat Strut. Met him many moons ago in California. A true gent. But THIS???!!! The man is a monster guitar player. So . . . Looks like I’m buying me a Setzer Signature. Keep going, my friend. You are alone in your brilliance.
Check out The Reverend Horton Heat. Jim Heath plays a similar Gretsch and a similar kind of music. Brian and Jim are about the only famous guys still playing rockabilly with Gretsch guitars. Oh, and Billy Gibbons still plays them occasionally, but solid bodies, not the hollow ones.
This guy is just so good and so underappreciated. Yup, all the chops are still there and strong too. Funny thing though. What is well highlighted here is his control of sound and use of that trem bar. In a completely different genre of music it makes me think of another player who does is so well. Jeff Beck. Seems as if the two players have more in common than I might have ever imagined as they both play music that wouldn't get much attention at all if not for just how damned good they are when THEY play it.
@@joecrowaz Thanks ' I'm from pemba' and not familiar ' I looked him up ' he's a great player. I saw a cowboy TV show that had chester on it ' that's who I thought you were talking about. Do you know the name of that TV show?
Im probably going to have to learn this ... mixture of fear and elation ... like finding out you get to die skydiving but they wont tell you on which jump
King of rockabilly guitar, and one of the best entertainers ever. Everyone forgets he’s a Long Island boy.

Love Brian's virtuosity and wonderful stage presence.I have this guitar and the variety of tones you can achieve with it are incredibly satisfying
I noticed Brian switching between pu positions throughout the song. What a talented player!
BTW, What's the other switch next to the pu selector for?
@@U2BER2012the other toggle is the tone switch. You get 100%, 50%, and near 0% treble settings.
@@aitken1965 Awesome, Gibson also made a guitar with a varitone switch.
He is just fabulous to watch! Love this version 💜

I sincerely think Brian is in a similar talent category as Chet Atkins and this video proves it.

Nunca tuve una guitarra que no se desafinara toda al accionar la palanca......... snif

Nah, pretty adds sweetness and flavor to the song. That's why Brian's the man.
