  • Valorization and promotion of women's traditional knowledge. Promoting the traditional knowledge and crafts of rural women is a crucial point for a sustainable community, in which all female and male stakeholders can contribute to its development, cohesion and adaptation to climate and environmental challenges. In Hassilabiad, the promotion of women aims at their financial empowerment.
    Here we are with :
Sophie GOASDOUE , treasurer of our association XCSS - CROSS COUNTRY SKIING SAND, and CEO of the project XCSS climate can't wait,
Amou MAROUCHE, President of the local association HASSILABIAD.
It is important to promote handicrafts and the rational use of natural resources and of recycled materials as a way of sustainable development of rural communities, and thus contribute to curbing the rural exodus.
Rural communities play a vital role in maintaining their natural ecosystems. In this case, the people of Hassilabiad are working to rehabilitate their oasis. These natural spaces are the last bulwarks against the encroachment of the desert and allow carbon and water to be stored. These are places where the agroecosystem must ensure the food security and self-sufficiency of local communities.
The message and values of sport that we carry through our unique practice of cross-country skiing on sand has had a positive support from the local who share their practices, traditions and culture with us.
    Other measures of our project's impact on SDG2, SDG3, SDG5, SDG11, SG12, SDG13 and SDG17.
