- Accusations of sexual assault led to the resignation of Gateway Church pastor Robert Morris last month. Cindy Clemishire shared her story with CBS News Texas.
There was a Gateway Dallas pastor who physically abused a volunteer he was seeing. The pastors covered it up and then removed her. She had to go to the police and he plead out this year. This is still being covered up.
Good for you to keep talking about cases like that let the world know so people start asking questions and expose the criminals and abusers involved in the cover up.
"he confessed and repented back in 1987"...except he didn't let anyone know she was 12 yrs old and over the years he had kept it up with her until she was 17. He didn't repent! He should have stepped down on his own. He kept the details a secret and kept his act (job and paycheck $$$) up on stage. A true "wolf in sheep's clothing" and a predator on the loose! He should be in jail! He also refused to pay for her counselling she had to get bc of it all, so NO, he never repented. Even now - he's "in Greece WORKING ON A FILM"???????
I think it is quite interesting that this happened in the early 1980's.
Were not we teaching our children the concept of good touch and bad touch to their body.
Cindy was 12 years old. She knew right from wrong and continued in this affair until 16 or 17 by her own account. She allowed him to touch her from 12 to 17 years old. It is quite remarkable that she didn't have a teacher, school counselor, or police she could discuss. For 5 years Cindy willfully
participated. In Texas, recently a 12 year old girl like Cindy ran away from home to the motel to meet a man. I see willfulness in both of their behaviors. Today I see Cindy is attention seeking and HUNGRY for Robert's money. Cindy was no little miss innocent she wanted what Robert was giving.

Our former senior pastor sexually assaulted a man he was counselling. Did a few years as a car salesman then was appointed to senior Pastor in a close vicinity of where the abuse was. It’s time to wake up!!!! You can be forgiven but restoration to your job as pastor should not be an option. It’s time for the church to stop enabling sexual abusers.
At first, I thought this lady was lying. However, after hearing more details of Morris' famous story of infidelity "with a young lady". I was sickened to learn that the person involved was 12 years old. I think she should have got legel representation years ago, when she attempted to contact the church the first time. However, she has the right to come forward and seek justice on her own behalf. SHAME on GAteway Church, Shame on the Elders involved. I cant believe they didnt ask questions

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Gateway Church's membership has gone down by 50 percent. Heinous behavior has consequences. I wonder how many new atheists there are now?
I'm not sure if talking about someone who mistreated her 40 years ago in public over and over will help Cindy heal. I was wondering if she would do the same thing if pastor Robert Morris were poor and normal person.
Her actions have led people to reject Robert's teachings, which have been a blessings to many. And she goes on to harm the church, his family, and all of the staff there. If her parents knew about it and did not act the way she did now, I can tell something that is missing from her story.
Cindy is not revealing the truth to build herself or others; instead, she uses her side story to get money and destroy the Church.
Please Christians wake up , If we call ourselves Christians, we must act like Christ.
The Bible is replete of stories of individuals who began weak, sinful, and had a poor past, but God used them.Paul, Peter, Mary Magdalene, Zacchaeus, and so many others.
Why now disqualified Pastor Robert for God's grace to use him and continue uses him?

Well with all the attention and paydays she will heal here. Hopefully she will confess her lies to God. I was molested as a child and I only needed help from God to heal. Not public attention, money, or destroying so many people's lives. What this amount of damage is causing real victims. Poor little rich girl.

You can denounce his failings, but if he has repented before God, and God says I will remember them no more, then in revelation of that truth make your decision concerning the man of God who us also your brother in Christ . THIS WAS 47 YEARS AGO?! She was 12 and he was 15? What he did was horrific and terrible to her. I can say this though… I did a different horrible thing at 19 years old. And I struggled in my faith. I know I am now a new creation and have renounced the things of my past. I live for Jesus now and am in ministry . But my life is different now. I know that if God does not bring up my past to me again, then why would we bring up anyone else’s past? If this was recent I would have other feelings but he wasn’t a pastor then and who even knows if he even had any kind of relationship with the Lord at that age at all then. What God has done with him since then is an amazing story. No, if he’s doing it currently that’s something totally different but we’re talking 47 years ago before he was a pastor and potentially before he even knew Jesus. They were kids. So for them to say all kinds of stuff about being in a group for women who’ve been abused by priests is not right because he wasn’t a pastor yet. So we see how the enemy tries to use horrible things of our past or past sins to tear down everything God has done. Is he currently doing these things? Has he done something like this after he became a pastor?
