BMW’s have always been quick around a track (handling) but they’ve really never been straight line fast until recently
Real beamer heads knew what to do to make em quick in a line. Once bmw started making turbo straight 6s from factory is when things changed
@@bc5084 I had an E46 and E92 and not one other them came straight line fast from the factory. Yeah, I could supercharge them but for the money, they were still not that fast. Hell, the 335i’s were quicker but even then, they’re weren’t 10sec fast.

Stock hellcat 60-130 is around 7 or 8 seconds depending on grip, so your telling me he shaved off 3 seconds with bad traction in a stock MANUAL car just like that? Seems kinda bullshitted to me… unless he’s comparing a modded hellcat which in his argument makes it invalid. Also I believe he is incorrect about the cheap power vs American cars, there’s countless videos out there of budget foreign builds (mods costing under 10k) (running reliably) that whoop hellcat’s asses back to back. Not here to hate, just questioning the validity of his numbers and logic of his argument

1:35:33 The b58 thing is SUPER CAP.... Dudes have been messin with oem i6 turbo bimmers since 07 with the N54... Nobody gets credit for B58 stuff... Burger Motorsports and the JB3 on the N54 and RB turbos gets credit if anyone... I'm sure that cat pushed the b58 and all but tuned turbo i6 bimmers were nothing new... I still subbed to that cat but I'm tellin you... That guy did not surprise anyone with a tuned turbo bimmer running numbers...

Tech has made it so people who can't even drive can race a car now!! Yo Ken Miles, Carol Shelby, They all drove manuals when they raced.. They were race car driver's for real.. You should have seen this younger Kid at the car wash the other day he couldn't even pull my car out because of that 3rd pedal.. I jumped in and moved it, but still that was funny and kind of sad to me at the same time.. Because I can't remember a time when I couldn't just jump in any car and go weather Manual or Auto.. I was backing up Dump trucks with trailer's when I was 15 for my Dad and uncles.. I grew up in a Time when automatic's ruined your power.. We had no choice but to go with a manual if we wanted to get the power down.. I am 50 about to be 51 soon..

for the cost of a used b58 you can buy a 10spd mustang gt and boost it for under the intial cost of a supra. bang for buck i dont think theres anything that can go like a stang gt which is quite the change from back in the day

I’m on a set of MT ET street 305/45/17
What tire pressure would you recommend? RPM launch ? I try launching in my manual hellcat but I feel like I stall then it goes
My manual game really suck 😅
Maybe I need to find a sweet spot in the clutch but there not videos on how to launch a manual hellcat I upgraded the driveshaft to a one pice aluminum so I don’t snap the stock one I also upgraded the axle to the 41 spline redey/ demon just basics drivetrain mods
What advice do you have on launching a manual hellcat on a set of MT ET Street?
Put it on a slick. Manual cars do better on a slick.
You can get a 540i under 100k miles for 20k or less… just putting it out there

I think the guy missed the fact that to the overwhelming rest of the car enthusiast world, drag racing is not just irrelevant but fuckin boring. Most of us don't give a shit how fast you can go in a quarter mile, tell me how fast you can do a section of a downhill or uphill mixed surface rally stage where hairpins can come one after another and a quarter mile is about the longest straight you'll see.
Listening to him talk about American cats being fast was hilarious. He only spoke about straight line speed and only from a dig. What about roll racing or roast course racing? The scope for fast is so small. Yes the Hellcats can destroy from a dig but they can't turn and the engine can't make big horsepower. They can't be built to compete with the dudes running 1500+ HP. It's the American version of cheap HP.
Fastest hellcat in the world runs 6.90s in the 1/4 mile. Do some research

BMW M5 Comp runs 1/4 in 10.7 so it would blow a hellcat.
Bmw's arent/werent ever made for straight lines. They can do it now. But theyre built for handling/driving, and track. Even the suv's, built for the track. (Ive always been a bmw guy but i now like american cars and want a vette, i currently have a ls swapped e36)

The thing is that same 700whp Supra will run a 900whp hellcat.
If you really wanna run fast for cheap pickup an n54 for 8k put 10k in it and for 18k you will run hellcats for a fraction of the price

If we are talking really cheap my n54 2010 8k fbo dual pumps helix e85 upgraded twins 650-700 depending on e content no car compares mods I paid less than 5k
The rest of the car is trash for 8k and today it ain’t 8k 🤣. Facts are you can get an ls car for less and make more power simply add boost and fuel make the same or more. But that’s the same argument the rest of the car becomes an issue due to age. The only reason those cars make power is because it has boosted. But your not making more power than a v8 on boost modified or not. Shit you can get a junk yard Ls and rebuild it for 4k 🤣 or just do it yourself because its that easy to work on.

And remember these are bmws so the interior is decently nice even by todays standards.
@@chris88331 no it’s not. Rods and pistons can be had for a grand without crank for rebuild kit. The car can be had for dirt cheap and you can go to the junk yard for the block.

Man I'm up in VT and have the same damn problem. I have a 900hp cummins, a 650hp cummins, and my xdrive n54 with hybrids, fbo blah blah. Nobody here does shit with cars, the typical ricers, but nobody with actual power. The closest track is down in southern NH. I would love to meet up with like minded people in the north east. I don't care what people drive, not a brand loyalist. Be awesome to do some racing, folks up here need to have something to do besides getting fucked up.

I have a n55 x5 and I have a c6 corvette.. also a 330 but that’s n/a..as far as bolt one it’s cheaper to build the bmw but as far as to make 1000hp and make a real build the vette is cheaper…just from what I see from trying to build my n55 and ls2 💯
Yah after a certain point it doesn't make sense anymore. I am N54 myself, after about 700 at the wheels it makes sense to move to another platform. Or have the best of both worlds, and swap the N55 for a LS. The Vette is actually designed and built for this stuff, the E chassis was a family sedan for soccer moms. I love my car, but I also know what it is and isn't.
