- A trading journal is important for you to succeed. Having a forex trading journal will allow you to treat this like a business.
I want to share with you why you should keep a forex diary or trade journal and the 5 elements of an effective forex trading journal. Keeping a trading journal is needed for you to be consistent.
I want to share with you the elements of a trading diary and when should you record and review your trading journal. You can create your own trading journal template, but these are the 5 things you must have in your forex journal for it to be effective.
Let me know what are the other elements you include in your trade journal that I've not mentioned. Having a trading journal is not only for trade records, but it also helps you find your trading style.

thank you so much karen . this is what i was looking for. i'm taking screenshots of trades now. but don't have a proper journal. i'm planning to print the screenshot and make it the journal in itself. I just didn't want to write too many stuffs, just the important ones. as u know it's boring to write a journal. thanks for ur effort

Many people realize the importance of having a trading journal but not many people are able to put down the ego, efforts to actually taking down the losing trade. If you show up on this, you are already so much more ahead than most traders in the long run. if you do really commit in this trading journal. Show up and work on your trading journal. Thanks Karen for your inspirational video. The things that you said stabs my heart like a knife because what you said was so true. I have been trading forex for more than 6 years blindly without a journal and should be scolded for that. I am not a succesful trader n i blown two accounts already. Last year i just manage to breakeven with roller coaster emotions attached to most of my trades. This year 2019 I will start to be disciplined in two things. Start a trading journal and to learn from your youtube videos. Since I don't have a proper mentor, I will imagine you as my mentor talking to me everytime I watch your videos. Thanks again.

Thank you Karen. I'm adding your what went right, wrong & how I felt to what I've been doing. I've probably been thinking about those things- but not actually documenting it. By the end of the month- that might get foggy.
I'm pretty new. I trade options instead of Forex. So I'm recording Put or Call & if I bought or sold them also in my journal. I wanted to know if I was getting the short term trend direction correctly.
I am also printing an equity curve graph in Excel to pin up. I'm trading a small account & I find seeing the chart go up (however small) - encouraging to say that slow & steady wins the race- let it compound to myself when I look at it.
I don't know if I'm doing well or not yet. I know the smart aleck answer is that if you are making money- you are. I am, but I don't know if it's just been luck. Is there a number of data points/trades that you can believe the math of your win rate ??

missed you Karen for an entire week. so, for the trading journal i do approximately the same except i add reasons to exit the trade . to see for the long run whether is was objective exits or just emotional .

Really helps me in making my plan and my journal, which I have done very informal, now I will do it well. I have been doing demo for 2 year perhaps a bit more. I started a small account 2 years ago, blew it, and been in demo since then, then I did open a live on crypto, and kept the demo work and now with tradingview paper trading is great. May I use the recorded trades on the broker? Thanks for what you do, really appreciate your work!
What informative video that is really bad ass that you thought of having a journal due to the fact most of these traitors I'm positively sure don't even record their own damn results or even bother. Unless they make money and they just leave money sitting.
Journaling is common only among the consistently profitable ones, which is why the 90% needs to do it

One other thing I include in my journal is not only what kind of mood I was in to avoid emotional trades, but also if I've been healthy that week. Unhealthy body = unhealthy mind = unhealthy trades.
Yes having an unhealthy body will lead to disaster. That's why I work out 6 days a week.

2. Which are the time that you traded, that you SHOULD NOT TRADE
3. Which are the systems that you should trade more /which are the systems that you should trade less
4. Finally understand what is your trading personality = your real risk appetite

Hi Karen, I’ve been struggling trying to find the best form to put all this information in one place... I figured I’d ask you what most professionals are doing in terms of storing the information... literally using a notebook? Perhaps a excel document of some sort ? There’s apps for everything nowadays is there an app that’s helpful?

When you are writing a trading journal,you are trading seriously.Once there is an opportunity to enter the market,you will allocate a proper lot size on different pairs.Some call it risk management.Sometimes there are pullbacks in the market.Risk reward ratio is much more important than winning rate.
