This is my favourite video of The Sea of Cortez and has inspired me to make plans to travel there from the UK this winter. If I can experience just some of what I've seen while watching this many times, I'll be very happy. Heading for Loreto this November !
Absolutely beautiful footage, editing and music selection. I spent a couple of months in Baja California Sur's cape region in 1975 and I hope to return to the state someday. Thank you both for sharing. All the best to you folks.
Thanks so much for the compliment on my video. I love the Baja and enjoy the exploration. I have several other videos on my channel of our explorations in the Baja.
Awesome job on your videos. We love Baja and the Sea of Cortez too and our ecolodge is based in a boat-accessible location 12 miles SSE of Bahia de Los Angeles.
What’s the name of your ecolodge? I have a small boat that I’m hoping to tow to B of LA this fall if possible. We can live aboard our boat and would love to give your ecolodge a visit.
Yea yea yea we have had a house since 1966 over at alfonsinias in the seventies there were only thirteen houses an that dirt road from puertocitos to gonzoga was rough but fun
I didn't visit Gonzaga until after they finished the road. I live South of Rosarito and love Gonzaga area to escape the cold of winter on the Pacific side. I Fell in Love with the place on my first visit. This video is a compilation of at least 20 trips.
Very nice video footage and the beauty of the sea of Cortez. I wish you would say or note where this is exactly. This could be just south of the San Felipe area. It's probably further south on the Baja peninsula. I've only been to San Felipe and La Paz. You could all that fish but the seafood in San Felipe comes from San Quintin on the Pacific side 3 hours south of Ensenada. Why aren't there fishermen to catch fish in the Sea of Cortez to sell in the markets like in San Felipe? I don't get it.
Hey Sam, it was a small silver spoon like a crocodile. There were some small silver baitfish cruising near the shore. That’s the only Rooster that I’ve ever caught there.
@@RussandJaneth went there last November in 2021. Drove from Northern California with my girl And my parents. Stopped at San Felipe then headed to Gonzaga! Pure beauty!!!
8:10 Maybe not on this instance with a migration. But, do you know why vultures circle their food? Several reasons. 1) A food find is rare. 2) It is a group effort. 3) They can't grab with tallons to eat. They need to play "tug o war" with other vultures to eat. So.... They will circle and circle until more show up. How many? They "can tell" approximately how much a find will feed and come down when that many birds are circling. Evolution at its finest. Nice clip.
Miss those days. Know that firecracker jurel were tasty...nice trip, awesome footage and views.

8:20 don't disturb the vultures with your drone, keep a distance and zoom.
Excellent video! Beautiful scenery! The video is three years old, and this place is teaming with wildlife. How is it now?
I was there in January and I saw more wildlife than ever before. Tons of birdlife and Bighorn sheep . The fishing was also excellent!!
@RussellCarmona Excellent! I'm glad to know that it's better than before. I sure hope it stays that way.
love the video what lure did you catch the little roosterfish on?

What is the brand of your fishing boat? por favor
Isn't the Sea of Cortez one of the main swimming waters for Deep Blue?
Hi Melinda, sorry but I’m not sure what you’re asking?🤷🏻♂️
@@RussandJaneth Deep Blue is the name of an enormous female shark named "Deep Blue."
That is entirely possible, I have seen some absolutely Massive whale sharks. Amazing🌈🌞
Amazing video. Been looking for a scanoe to do the same. Can I ask what length yours is?
Mine is 13 feet. Works great with a small outboard motor.
Bro Where is this
Gonzaga Bay. 2 hours south of San Felipe.
What is that thing at @11:10
Whale Shark feeding on the surface👍
🤙🤙🤙
What is Baja ?????
Baja means low in Spanish. This part of Mexico is called Baja California or Lower California.
Golfo de Baja California instead !
Sea of Cortez
The home of giant shark
Black Demon
The sea of Cortez is properly called the gulf of California Cortez doesn't deserve the name
