I just got a version 2 recently. I like it! The Sansamp function in the V2 now has two channels and a character switch that allows it to go from VT bass to Bass Driver DI sounds. The compressor isn't as aggressive either and the chorus sounds fine. It also now has an effects loop! The only downsides: the speaker simulation is extremely subtle, and the OctaSynth function is tough to tame. The envelope filter (with and without fuzz) is very cool, but the octave function is impossible to use and tracks poorly. I don't like Octave sounds, though, so it's not much of an issue for me, but I see how it can be for others.
I agree with you about the compressor. Too sensitive for my taste. I have both versions of this pedal and in my opinion, version one still have more tonal options because of the character knob and the "tone knob" on the compressor section.
Well done and thanks for your comments about the pedal. Tech 21 now made a video and explains how the octave divider works. It is important to adapt your technique to improve the tracking.
I agree with everything you said . I really wanted one for the simplicity for gigging. However, the sound compromise was too much. I do hope they continue to improve this product, though.
Just tried one out today, and I have to agree with your review. The chorus and the octifier, I liked. The sans amp, no so much, and the compression was aggressive. I am looking for a rackmount effects. Any suggestions?

Thank you for a very usable review. It definitely was important for me to get a personal opinion on the unit!
Thanks for watching, Kristian! Glad you found it useful

sackvegas Hope so, too!!
Totally agree with everything in your review. I like it and use it for its compact convenience
Thanks for watching, Colin!
Version 2 has just been announced. I'm very interested to see if they reworked the Octafilter section.
Thanks for the heads up!
What about the newer Version 2?

Which effects are you looking for that need to be in a rackmount format?
I just don't want to deal with pedals. Just one rack with multi effects with a footswitch
Kemper, Helix, Axe FX or a neural dsp quad cortex (not a rack, but you can mount it)
thx for the pickup chat on insta
AJ Thanks! The ease of portability is definitely great, though. But i agree with your statement
