    Same here. I saw AWIN when it hit my scanner. Volume looked a little spotty at first and no news. So I was going to pass on it. It kept pushing up though. But being hesitant to get in, I didn't end up buying until $6.15. I held on until $9.06 and then got out because I didn't want to overstay my welcome. Walked away green.

    Hey Ross! How do you determine whether it's safe to get in on a red candle (or a dip)? I battle mentally with if it's just a dip or it's going to keep going down and miss a lot of trades. 😕

      Look at the level-2 data and see if the price heading into support or if there's building buyer/seller imbalance.
      Like all things, it's not foolproof, but it's another tool you can use in combination with all the other indicators and your particular strategy.

    I saw AWIN kept going up but I never entered because I didn't see any catalyst. I remember Ross talking about how when there's no news, it's much more likely to see a jackknife or very choppy actions. I just did not feel comfortable going in seeing it kept creeping up to over $9. With my luck, I probably would have gotten in at 9.60 and stopped out at 9 or lower 😂

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I will only state the numbers. A stock at 5 dollars has less room to jackknife down, than a stock at 9 dollars. But yes, I have the same risk aversion. Weak markets breed traders with significant risk aversion. It is the only way they survive during a weak market.

      It takes the typical human being 2 to 5 years to become consistently profitable at it. I have been at it for about 10.5 months, and still don't have it all figured out. Do it part-time until you get consistently profitable. Keep your share-size small to control your losses. Those losses are humorously called "tuition". Hey, I've been watching your stuff for a while now, just started to day trade (while on paternity leave), and I made a few hundred bucks today on AWIN too. My account is under $25k due to a big loss last year, but working slowly to make it back. Any advice for a trader with trading limitations? Appreciate your content. -MPB

      I had two trades this morning, I’m not in front of computer at the moment but it was the second trade were I added too high and got stopped out. I think I added back around 8.75 for move to 9 and got stopped around 8.45 when it broke the 1/2 dollar.

      It is tough as a noob to turn off "hopes dreams and aspirations" when you trade.
      I keep repeating the following mantra to myself: "Focus not on what the stock should do, but live in the reality of what the stock is actually doing". Some of my biggest losses were holding a stock which had EVERY reason to keep climbing (strong catalyst, good market).

      EDBL was dangerous and usually trades that way. Honestly, I usually avoid it, but when I do trade it, I wait for flushes to get bpught up and join in there. Buying breakouts of the ones that flush and false breakout is a recipe for catching a fat red candle.

      @Matthansmail I don't trade micro pullbacks, though. I think it's risky a small pullback can turn into a big one at any moment. So I wait for clear support. V wap or whole number 7,7.50,8

    • @Matthansmail
      @Matthansmail 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@brittanyanderson1295 I trade micro pullbacks whenever they make sense. But on EDBL, they only make sense if you're there for the initial rips up. Past that, too easy to get caught in a flush.

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did a consolidation trade on EDBL today, but had observed its behavior for an hour before I did. It was running in a "channel" at that time with a predictable top and bottom. I bought at the bottom of the channel, and sold at the top of the channel. Just understand, channels don't last forever. Either it is going to rip higher, or crash to the basement at some point.

      If $500 to over $10000000 in 5 years doesn't change your mind then apparently you think everything is gambling, which in a sense is true. But this type of gambling is low risk when you consider the potential profit vs effort.

      It is slightly better than casino gambling. It is more akin to a casino which deals off a single deck, and you get to see the dealer's hand. The metrics of level 2 and indicators like VWAP and MACD, help you spot the really obvious turds. Even so, you will lose part of the time, even with the best preparation.

    • @birdsinacage6627
      @birdsinacage6627 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@addertooth1You and many others cant seem to grasp the obvious. With las Vegas style gambling once and a certain amount (investment) is committed to then losses and profits are fixed. With stocks the investor has much greater control over what's lost and won.What separates winners and losers is knowledge, practice and discipline. Even playing cards can be very consistently profitable with knowledge and discipline. In day trading no one has to lose their entire "bet" as you do in actual gambling. Once you acquire sufficient knowledge (an edge) then it's just a matter of sticking to a discipline and not letting emotion rule you. It's only when he became emotional and acknowledged violating his discipline ie,: rules, did he sustain large losses. Fortunately, he rarely makes such mistakes, which is why anyone following his time tested strategies, tools and discipline can achieve similar results. If you don't, then it means you just need more knowledge, practice and discipline.
