- Today I explored this amazing collection of old barn find cars waiting to be saved. Plenty of Austin Allegros and British Leyland cars which have somehow survived the test of time. My favourite Citroen BX and DS models, Japanese cars like Datsuns and Nissans. This place has something for everyone!

I think that Escort Estate might've been a BT fleet vehicle
I think you're right. I worked for BT and that's very much "Buzby" yellow. Not sure about the sunroof though. Usually there would have been writing on the passenger front wing, stating "BT General Manager" and the region it belonged to. Also the gross weight of the vehicle.
Yes BT had a yellow fleet of escorts and possibly sierras but British rail had yellow Fords that colour as a pal used to,service them and they had half a million up em
Yeah it’s either a telecom car or poss British rail as they also used them. But I think the BR cars and vans are slightly lighter in colour.
Yes, BT car. A friend bought one after they were decommissioned, he said it been serviced regularly and ran brilliantly. It had the tyre pressures number in dark blue on each wheel arch
Definitely BT car business pack tinted glass and sunroof were standard we have one too
The Person who has all of those cars its a legend for saving them all! As someone who is mad into Allegros, Minis and anything unusual, seeing a place like this is amazing for me. I can't believe how many rare pannels and parts are there, let alone some of the cars. Great video, thanks for sharing! 👍
💎Thanx for showing these beautiful cars!!!
I love the TALBOT RANCHO!
Great video!👍🏼
+1 for the Escort Estate being a British Telecom car
Can’t believe that Datsun Cherry had a Pentrebach Car Sales sticker on the back! I’ve lived in Merthyr Tydfil all my life and remember that place well. Awesome!
@25:13 The hexagonal tail lights on those Cherries are a work of art. My mum's first car was a similar Cherry in yellow.
What a great collection our normal everyday cars from 70s 80s and 90s would love to visit there absolutely great video 😊 cars most of us had when we younger
Silver BX Break.
I ❤ butterflies. Got to be one of Andy Adams' old ones
That Vauxhall Victor Estate brings back memories. My Dad had one exactly like that back in the eighties. They were really bad for rust and around forty percent of his was body filler. It got written off by a bus in the end.
That victor estate looks awesome 👏
That’s the next one on the list to be done up!
Wow what a collection and they are still in great condition well most.
Haha yes one or two won’t survive but certainly loads of potential
@@Road2Rust definitely look forward to a re visit little gold mine that.
good vid nice seen this been saved got lots of vacuums saving them too
Grate video but you forgot the metro 🙃 DEFINITELY THE ADHA 👍🏼😎😊
@22:44 Escort in BT livery I had one!!!!
You truly saved the best car for last
The allegro estate was a really lovely shaped car .
Great that they are there but saving all of them. He could keep the ones he wants and make thousands from the rest.
Ooh love the Datsun Cherry. My dad had one and I had my first driving experiences with it
I’d love to have an Allegro estate car. 👍
And yes the Escort Estate is ex B.T. car, l remember them running around till the late 90s before BT ' Faded to Grey' if you pardon the 80s pun with the dancing piper as part of their livery.
No, the Escort estate is not factory colour. It was originally grey and colour change was registered with DVLA in 1993
Hi, friend! How do you know that?? I'm interested. Greetings 👍

Jonny Smith @thelatebrakeshow NEEDS to see this !!!
Oh my God, these cars' steering wheels are on the wrong side of the car.🤣😅 Nice video. Kind Regards
I didn't even know they did Crayford allegros never seen one before
That Ital must be one of the oldest surviving ones left.
Oh my god this is exceptional! 🥵 what a collection
Thank you mate!
amazing collection!
Im more of a french 80s/90s cars guy but i really liked those Morris Ital, very nice (reminds me of my 309 Graffic but saloon instead of hatchback).
Also adore the BXs. maybe one day i'll get one to be a companion to my 309.
I think the colour of the Escort is just called ‘yellow’ or possibly ‘signal yellow’ although the latter was used in the previous Escorts. it is a genuine Ford colour and a lot of civil works and Councils purchased them because yellow stands out a bit more in a visual/safety sense.
I used to have an F reg Escort estate in exactly that shade of yellow, but mine was painted black below the side trim. It used to belong to May Gurney civil engineers. It was a 1.6 diesel, non-turbo. Very slow, but did 50mpg and ran on vegetable oil. F890PUL was its registration.
Hi James, hope your doing good.
That was one very cool video. Loved seeing all those old cars.
My Uncle used to have a Datsun in blue just like the one that was in the video.
Stay safe and take care.
Thank you! I really want one !
@@Road2Rust I could seriously start looking for one for you. It might be in the States.
Too many Citroens on the go at the moment - perhaps in a few years!
Fantastic video. The owner seems to have a soft spot for French cars and Allegros. My mother always thought the Allegro estates looked like a hearse and I agree. Love the quote "You'd end up getting stuck behind an old lady driving a Micra at 20 mph. Glad they're all dead!" We know what you meant!
😂 I didn’t mean it like THAT! They’ve all moved on to the bloody Honda Jazz now anyway
@@Road2Rust I know you didn't. Just winding you up. Really good video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of those cars are just not economical to repair though but they can be donor cars.
I do mean it though. When I’m stuck behind them 😂😂
Hoover army...
When you're about 100, you'll return to that barn and the only difference you'll find will be a few more vacuum cleaners.
The Escort is probably the only survivor of the company we suspect. It's a piece of history! Anyway... Many things can be done for a classic but the best thing is to save it from oblivion 👍
I think those two Itals must account for a tenth of all the remaining ones in existence. My first road-legal car was an Ital 1.7 SLX and I'd love another one. But the one that really jumped out at me is the Avenger, my favourite car ever. I've had two but both were rotten and I never got them (legally) on the road.
You know a lot about 80’s cars & your mom had a Chevette , I thought you was a young guy about 25 looking at you 😘
Even Curry's don't have that many vacuum cleaners.
Likely someone you know will know my aunt, Irene French, who used to live on Dogdean farm on Smuggler's Lane about 40 years ago🙂
Did she hoard cars?
Interesting upload. 😊
That talbot alpine has twice the miles as mine but half the rust 😂👍✌️
The Talbot Matra was a 4x2.
We need the Rancho. Is it for sale? It was the original soft roader
Check your insta messages :)
@@Road2Rustonly just seen this. Thank you!
Let’s chat!
Yellow escort is a British Telecom car.
You're correct the green ital is in applejack. But Mr Bean's mini was Citron. It defeats me why anyone would restore an Allegro. I had one and I may have been unlucky (understatement), but it had to have two engines (dealer fitted) and two manual transmissions in a very short space of time. The drive shafts were an unfunny joke. Ball joints every years MOT. Vibration boxes of s..t.
🤦🏽♂️
We had a series 3 1.3 for ten years, black with pinstripes. Ultra reliable only done 16,000, bit hot in the summer i remember.
I was disappointed that you didn't look at any of the vacuum cleaners being collected and restored.
I missed a niche there. I don’t think there are any channels doing barn find vacuums 😂
@@Road2Rust 😁
The Escort Estate is Definately Bt Or Telecom.
Red break has wind deflectors *and* headlight guards! Swanky
All the best bits!
Bt colour the escort estate I believe
I believe so!
J'adore 👍. J'aimerais avoir tout ça chez moi pour les bichonner 🇨🇵...
Cant believe they was a Rancho my aunty had one back in the 90s well rare it was used to take a person who used a wheelchair in the back before my aunty had it loved the escort estate could be ex bt yellow don't see any Allegros estates and a soft top is rare and a marina (ital)x2 metro are rare now the man got a good different types of cars in hes collection but got no time for Citroens my self but every body got there favourites hes got alot of work to do but good few look like they don't need alot of work but others need loads done did enjoy watching 👍
The Micra is probably the only car there that would be turn key fit to go on road 😅
My son has 2 vauxhall vivas. Hes saving too , 10 years so far stored and nothing being done to them
Sounds about right
@QuestionableCarClub one of the vivas was his first car after passing his test
greetings from germany...
more and more i like the allegro! the crayford is extrem coool!
a allegro would be a nice friend for my pacer, look avatar...
you eventually know the german oldtimer-magazin "oldtimer markt'? there you can win an allegro !
That escort estate is prob ex British telecom yellow nice colour
And whats with all the hoovers?
He has very dirty carpets 😂
I think that escort is an ex British Telecom car. I can't believe you didn't look at Maxi 😢
So nobody is talking to talk about the vacuum cleaner collection
Peugeot/Talbot l think, not Citreon
The allegro soft top must be quite rare otherwise leave the rest to rot
WHAT?!
@@Road2Rust Ok let’s save the mg tf then
@@jeffreystephenson6946 that rancho is probably the rarest one there
@@Road2Rust what the simca van on steroids
Are any of these for sale,if so can we have contact details thanks
Its no wonder theres a crisis where food banks are needed.Theres not enough room to grow our food cos the land is covered in barns.!
I prefer cars
Sorry, but i think this guy is deluded! I doubt very much that any of the barn find cars will be saved...and if the owner had any intentions of doing so...well lets just say he would have to be a £billionaire.
99% scrap.
Mk4 yellow escort for sale
YELLOW MK3 escort ???? 1.8 diesel ????? BT telcomm spec ????. 80s/ 90s
He has all these great cars, but he can't afford to cover them? Rust destroys all
"Car collection" 80-90 and early 2ks shitboxes more like scrapyard
The Applejack Morris Ital
