Creating an expansion in order to apologise for flaws in the base game is ambitious but isn't it easier to just release the base game in an acceptable state in the first place?
I agree but i feel like you have to cut the acc devs some credit, they're rushed constantly to realease games for a company that ultimately just wants to make money, so they never learn and the devs don't have a chance to show their efforts a lot of the time
That's the thing, contracts exist. Ideally a developer wants to put out a perfect game, it's human nature...but more often than not they have a publisher who is paying for it, who expects it out on a deadline or with things that the developer might not necessarily want in there but have no choice. If the developer doesn't meet these deadlines or puts its foot down against something, the publisher pulls the funding or cancels the project or sues the developer for breach of contract. Ergo, if that means the game has to be put out with a bug or two they can iron out after that's fine by the devs, they can fix that. If it requires a whole expansion, you can typically follow the reason back to the source, the publisher or whoever is holding the purse strings.
FF 15 would have been even more crazy if the other 3 planned DLCs had released. They build on the "Resist" ending of the Episode Ardyn DLC (as opposed to the "Accept" ending which leads to the canonical ending). We would have gotten to play as Araneia and Lunafreya, we would get to fight both Diamond and Emerald Weapons, we would have been able to finally summon Ifrit, and the final boss would have been Bahamut. There would also have been an alternate "happier" ending. They made a book out of the DLC story if anyone wants to read it. It's called "The Dawn of the Future."

As a huge fan of the soulsborne series and obviously playing Elden Ring, I think some games can just have a set difficulty so everyone gets the "same experience"
This. The game is designed to be a certain difficulty, progression is tailored that way. And in Elden Ring's case, the difficulty emphasizes the need to explore (and stay out of herpes land) the gigantic map to find gear updates, and/or let you get more practice. Having a difficulty setting option for a game tailor made for a specific experience just sounds silly. If it's just too hard or frustrating, move on to a different game. Not every game is for everyone, just the same for movies, books, or television.
Here is an idea. About times when you thought you couldn't access some areas or quests after reaching a specific point, but in actuality they are always accessible. Some examples: In the game Pokemon Colosseum you have to catch specific Pokemon of your enemies. There are those bosses with Entei, Suicune and Raikou. I thought if I defeat them on the two encounters I fight them, I would never get them in that playthrough. In actuality I can fight them as much as I want later in an unlockable area after the main-story. Another game is Tales of Symphonia were you have to get right before the final boss to unlock every end-game content in the game. I never missed out on some content. I only never unlocked them.

I'd add Borderlands 2 on this list, based solely on Jules' caveat/criteria. Now, don't get me wrong, Borderlands 2 is an AMAZING game and definitely in my top 5 of all time, but 2 DLCs took an already amazing game and made it god-tier for me: the Mechromancer additional character and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragonkeep. Not everyone will agree that Gaige was all that great, but to those people I say, "look up her backstory audiolog here on TH-cam." It's SO clever and funny and sets her up as SUCH an amazing character. But regardless of your feelings on Gaige, the Dragonkeep DLC is arguably the best DLC ever created for a game in history. Funny and clever, it manages to maintain the feel and a reverence of the main game while simultaneously combining a completely different genre. And then manages to tell a gut-wrenching story of loss and grief. It's unarguably the embodiment of perfection and brilliance!

There's a weird bittersweet feeling having played BattleFront 2 from start to finish. I still start it up from time to time. It is one of the most amazing Star Wars games. It was just so sullied right out of the gate. Not to mention that the community, especially regarding the more competitive side of it, can be crazy toxic.
It’s a shame that even after all its free updates and reworks that people still won’t give BF2 a second chance. There’s a massive amount of people that still think it’s still in the same state as it was at launch, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Those that I have convinced to either come back or pick it up for $5 on sale end up genuinely enjoying it and having a great time with it
Assassin's creed rogue deserves a story driven DLC. Perhaps a DLC that would take place after Shay assassinates Arno's father. It would be epic if Shay came across Arno or Connor.
They should have had a DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2. The ability to see what happened on the river boat that caused the death of so many gang members. Also DLC on Charles Smith and all he did for the Indian Tribe, and how he escaped. Also DLC on Sadie and what happened to Karen. Perhaps also who is GAVIN???
I think Warioware get it together needs dlc characters like Megaman exe, Hatsune miku, Sal out, 13 amp, Vanessa from touced, Syrup, queen Merelda and Ochako from my hero academia.
I'm tempted to say Pokémon Sword & Shield, since the expansions added missing Pokémon. Also, one of the extra features was Gigantimaxing your starter... when it felt like Rillaboom, Cinderace and Inteleon should have gotten their G-Max forms in the base game.
Have you ever done a video on best comedy games/best comedy moments in games? Maybe funniest pro/antagonists? The book from It Takes Two or Glados from Portal come to mind straight away!

10 highly anticipated games that met the hype
Did Jules just give us a WC Wrestling crossover with that "uh thank youuuu"?
There's a weird bittersweet feeling having played BattleFront 2 from start to finish. I still start it up from time to time. It is one of the most amazing Star Wars games. It was just so sullied right out of the gate. Not to mention that the community, especially regarding the more competitive side of it, can be crazy toxic.
Nice Skeletor impression with the Sekiro intro Jules!
Mass effect Andromeda also needed dlc at the end game we learned more arks are on their way and 1 went missing only letting a reaper sound be heard
It’s a shame that even after all its free updates and reworks that people still won’t give BF2 a second chance. There’s a massive amount of people that still think it’s still in the same state as it was at launch, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Those that I have convinced to either come back or pick it up for $5 on sale end up genuinely enjoying it and having a great time with it
Sonic for hire was one of the best TH-cam shows I've seen
Stellar editing in this episode, well done lads. Thanks for embracing the chaos.
To be fair, Kirby has killed interdimensional demons, and Mario has trouble with just an oversized lizard.
Kirby was the only one to survive Galeem's assault in Smash. He is the single most powerful Nintendo character
Games released for consoles after their lifecycles (the consoles) had already finished
8 Games that deserve a remake/remaster that will never get one
Personally my list is just silent hill 4 seven times and eternal darkness.
Legend of Dragoon and Brave Fencer Musashi!!
Top 8 smallest, teeny tiniest, miniscule, microscopic, littlest bosses in video games. In size compared to the protagonist
Top 10 games with music so good that you stopped playing just to listen
More Rockstar single player DLC! GTA V and RDR 2 are amazing but not all of us play online and are benefiting from all the hard work the developer puts forth on that end.
I’ve always been interested in the stories of games that were completely changed and therefor ruined by producer/company interference.
Because its getting a remaster but Dead Space. First 2 games were amazing. And Resident Evil
