It’s tough for Andy cause the big 4 phrase rly shouldn’t be used considering his achievements compared to them. But he also can’t really be put in the same group as Stan, delpo, cilic and all the other contenders cause he did so much more than they did. Idk that’s j my take they are all amazing champions
@@pants1359 True, but the big 4 term was used because for almost 10 years something like 80-90% of SF places at the slams were the big four. It was meant to mean you had to beat at least one of them to win a slam. If you took Murray out of it, then the argument fell down. Murray was the only player to have decent H2H against the big three, and consistently beating them at slams and masters. So he was definitely in there, if he'd just won one or two more slams I think he'd be more cemented as top 10 player of all time. Keep in mind he wasnt too far off french and Aussie wins. If he had those he'd be the only player to have literally won everything inc Davis cup and olympics

Novak is one of the greatest but Roger has also beaten a prime Novak in 2011 when Novak was unstoppable...Federer is way past his prime in 2018 2019...He won the 2017 and 2018 Australian opens but he wasn't at his best...Even the biggest fan of Roger knew it...

Gotta love how in detail they explain why they choose a lot of these shots. I love how Djokovic goes into detail about why he chose Federer for volley, and mentioning the accuracy during certain moments, as well as how Federer doesn’t necessarily care that the return is coming back and just keeping opponents from settling into a rally. I never thought of it that way, so it’s kind of new.
The specifics of why they choose such is also helpful. Some don’t need too much explanation like how they chose Delpo and Nadal’s forehands. Those two shots kind of speak for themselves. Also love that they are tennis nerds. Murray being the nerdiest.
Novak' backhand itself is arguably the best on tour but it comes even greater with his flexibility.
I think Novak’s and Murray’s backhands are pretty even, but it seemed Murray’s backhands are more fluid.

@@vladomontezuma626 I mean, Djokovic is probably a better player than Fed and may be remembered as the GOAT, but Fed really deserved that Wimbledon run. First time beating both Rafa and Nole in a grand slam run at 37 years old and winning his last grand slam title that way would have been the greatest way to end his career. I know Nole won, but Fed really choked it away after that great passing shot from Nole. It's a shame.

I have seen the full video of this and I don’t know why Djokovic is not popular people seem to like Federer and Nadal much more. I reckon the lockdown will help Murray make a full recovery from hip surgery 👍🎾
He doesn't act natural. Either bursts either overly correct. He needs to learn to loosen up a bit.
Several reasons: Federer and Nadal were there before him and the majority prefers their style (especially Federers) over Djokovics (which is almost perfect robotic baseline tennis).
His antics on court are pretty annoying and his cancerous parents didn´t help his popularity either.
Another reason, pretty sad one imo: his origin. If he was from another country some people would like him or at least not hate him.
Overall I think he should get more respect. People don´t have to like him, but greatness should be appreciated.
Ferguson don’t agree with that last one. People really don’t care he is Serbian. He just comes out “fake” to anyone who can read between the lines.
I still don't understand what genuine looks like. I actually prefer Nole, who shows you emotion. As for the other 2, when they are loosing, their controlled demons creep in slightly. I think Thiem is the most genuine.

Djokovic is in my opinion the most likeable guy on the tour, he is so genuine and down to earth. Such an inspiration.

Roger's volley game... SO SOLID! underrated and so great to watch. His overhead smash too.
When I watch Murray play before his injuries and surgeries, he was like a wall... Andy is consistent with his groundstrokes, I'm just impressed... and that signature lob? He knows how to apply that at the right time. His netgame is also great.. and his serve is better than Rafa.. his return game is insane! Andy is a complete player man.. I mean a very difficult opponent man..

It’s great to see two legends talking, we all see them competing against each other but off the court, they get along and are normal people.
I've for the most part over the years pretty intensely disliked Novak Djokovic ... but his candor and ability to analyze both himself and his greatest rivals seems to possess an insight that speaks well of him. He'd likely be an excellent commentator in the years after his on-court career is complete.
I always feel that you can’t pick Isner’s serve unless your perfect player is 6 ft 11
I guess that what we mean by "perfect" though - you can have the serve of a 6'11 man but the movement of someone 6'1
Karlovic 1 serve is better than Isner, less physical demanding, but in the second serv Isner is better.

Tako da je po meni licno mnogo bolji lik od njih uopšte. Svaka čast. Čak šta više smatram da su ga povrede sprečile da ima još uspeha u svojoj zavidnoj karijeri. Physical condition is a tricky category. It really much depends on what aspect you take into account. In terms of physical potential, I would also go for Monfils. He's definitely got the best natural athletic potential. But in terms of physical strength resulting from natural ability and hard work, I would probably go for Djokovic. And I would also argue that Federer is often underrated in that regard. His longevity and some of the most impressive features in his game (footwork, running around the backhand, volley,...) all come down to great physical shape and natural ability.

Well Nadal is the player who has beaten Djokovic the most. Obviously vice versa too, but still. He probably meant in another way that Delpo's the best even tho we obviously know it ain't. At least not in terms of consistency.
@@NLLeFa maybe .but what i meant is that novak over the years had learned how to deal with nadal's forehand better than everybody .when all the players are struggling with the high bounce and losing the majority of cross court exchanges .novak had huge success in that department recently and the proof is their latest matches .anyway no one can deny how good nadal's forehand is (one of the best ever)

Serve - Isner
There are a few players with slightly better records on their first serve, but isner can also back up it up with a great second serve, only roger and rafa have a better second serve win percentage which is incredible considering how much weaker isner is once he gets into a rally.
Forehand - Federer
Rafa's forehand is better on clay, if someone designed the perfect forehand for clay, I think they'd end up with rafa's forehand. However, his forehand is vulnerable on hard and grass, novak and roger have shown that rafa can be exploited on his forehand side.
Backhand - Djokovic
Andy also has a pretty reliable backhand but I don't think he can match novak. Wawrinka probably has the best offensive backhand when he's in form, it's inconsistent but on his day he seems to hit winners at will off the backhand.
Volleys - Federer
Imo this one is the hardest to judge because it's hard to compare volleying ability when players have very different tendencies to get up to the net. Some players will take riskier approaches which results in having to play harder volleys or being exposed to getting passed, while others come in when they have a very strong advantage so have easier volleys and don't lose many points. E.g. Nadal has a great win percentage at the net but doesn't make many risky approaches, whereas someone like mischa zverev comes into the net whenever there is a chance to do so which results in a lower win percentage at the net. I went with roger as he seems to have a good balance, he's got great skills at the net, and has a great net win percentage even though he's willing to take more risky approaches than most players.
Athleticism/Movement - Monfils/Djokovic
There are many players with better footwork than monfils, but I went with monfils because of his speed across the court, he's not technically perfect with his movement but his raw speed is insane. Djokovic's flexibility and agility has been one of his greatest strengths, he doesn't have the speed of monfils but he can hit shots from positions where any other player would be completely off balance.
Mental - Djokovic/Nadal
Imo rafa's more consistent mentally, novak sometimes has days where he seems to lose his focus and get distracted by external factors. However, novak can seem unbreakable at the biggest moments, when there is a high pressure moment in the biggest matches novak can turn into immovable object.
This is the perfect list but they were trying to change it up. I like your list better because it is 100 percent right

Mmm.. I have to disagree with Djokovic on the forehand choice, even though probably nobody cares. I'm sure Delpo can hit the forehand more efficiently from a certain position since he is so tall and he is very good with his movement even on the inside out and the inside in, but Roger can hit his forehand from every position possible due to his footwork, anticipation, reflexes and perception. Also he can hit it flat, spin, all types of angles, whipping, lob, dropshot, squash shot, blocking counterattack, half volley and he can take it early consistently unlike anyone else without compromising his position.

@zakaria djouzi ofcourse rafa is a goat, I am not saying that. But stop denying the statistics. Federer figured out his game in 2017 and tore him apart. Djokovic always knew what he had to do but in 2019 it was probably the biggest win of his career win he played with nadals forehand.
Djokovic could easily pick himself for returns, backhand and mentality...The guy is a beast.. no disputes..

It kind of amazes me that Djoko didn't pick himself on the categories that he clearly dominates. I don't know if he's humble or just an act, but mad respect. I would have chosen Nole for backhand, return and mentality. I'm a Roger fan, but it's a no brainer in their current form.

Good picks but Novak could have picked himself for Backhand, return (though Murray is tied IMO), and mentality. Mentality I think Novak's peak is higher than Rafa but yes over career, Rafa has always had that bulldog mentality and quick ability to turn up the gas.
"Peak" is nonsense, how would you even define that or know how that's distributed? That sounds like sports fan manufactures narratives. The fact is, Rafa has been at tough as you can mentally be since 16 years old on tour, also the greatest fighting spirit

Murray would probably have 10+ majors if he’d played in a different era. 3 and 2 Olympic golds is an amazing career but having to play those other 3 consistently made massive success almost impossible.
