Ich habe für 3 Monaten Deutsch mit Easy German gelernt und ich glaube, dass es sehr effektiv für Sprachen lernen ist. Ich errinere mich, in das 1te Video von euch ich konnte gar nichts verstehen und jetzt verstehe ich fast alle. Danke schön für eure wunderbare Arbeit!!!! Deutsch ist eine sehr schwierige Sprache für mich und ihr habt es sehr einfacher gemacht!

The woman who said Mongolian was the hardest language looks like Mongolian herself. But apparently she is Korean. Very good thought on Mongolian language. It is my mother language. It could be hard to learn for foreigners.
@sneksnekitsasnek No. Chinese is in sino-tibetan language group which includes chinese languages, tibetan languages and burmese languages.
Mongolian is in Mongolic language group.
Korean is a language isolate.
Her answer is ironic because Mongolian and Korean are both Altaic languages along Turkish and Japanese...they have the same grammatical structures.

I use to live in Korea and take Korean language classes now with a tutor and that lady is right. The alphabet is easy and it's easy to read. I learned Hangeul in a day. But the grammar is a beast. I almost want to give up!

As a Chinese, German is also a kind of language which is hard to learn for us in that it has a totally different language system. Now I'm learning it as I'm a Germany-lover and interested in everything about this holy land, such as its history, culture and people even though it is not a place I have ever been to.
Chinese too. German is really difficult for us at the beginning, especially when we are yet unfamiliar with its grammar, but in later stages it can turn out to be quite easy and fun to learn.
at least you can read it... i think if chenese used a phonetic system it wouldn't be nearly as bad

In fact i guess German is easy for Russians who already acquired English 'case German and Russian have some similarities (u can translate sentences easily without changing structure of sentences whereas in English u have to pay attention strictly to order of sentence). And of course English and German come from the same language group and have a lot of similarities

Meiner Meinung nach ist Ungarisch die schwierigste Sprache der Welt. Ein brasilianischer Autor hat einmal gesagt: "Ungarisch ist die Sprache, vor der der Teufel seine Achtung zeigt". Die Deklinationen sind so schwer wie das alte Lateinische. Die Vokabeln sind auch nicht so ähnlich wie indo-europäische Sprachen. Ich würde sagen, dass Chinesisch auch sehr schwierig sein kann, aber das ist wegen der Laute.

+Paulo Machado danke für die Antwort. ich habe leider noch nicht von ihm gehört, aber ich werde seiner Arbeit als Musiker und Schriftsteller schauen. vielleicht finde ich etwas, dass mir gefällt.
+Paulo Machado So schwer ist Lateit nicht. HATTE SCHON 7 jahre Unterricht ind man lernt zugleich die Muttersprache noch intensiver, als man sie schon kann. Die Grammatik ist sehr simpel, das Problem liegt eher in der Konzentration, welcheu ngeübt schnell o und a vertauscht, was absolut eine andere Bedeutung haben kann. Bei Latein ist eher sie Satzstruktur schwierig, weil sie eine Partizipialsprache ist und ein grosser Teil in Gedichtform aufgeschrieben steht.
Nenene Latein ist richtig einfach nix zu vergleichen
als Koreanerin finde ich Deutsch ist eine sehr schwierige Sprache.

icelandic is NOT some language isolate as that one girl implied. and icelandic grammar and german grammar actually have a lot in common. just wanted to throw that out there lol
A lot of people seem to be misinformed about Icelandic. It’s not nearly as complicated or alien as people make it out to be. It’s a Germanic language, related to English, German, and more closely Norwegian, Swedish and Faroese. It’s an EXTREMELY close direct descendant of Old Norse. There are a lot of big similarities with English and German. Perhaps the most difficult *Germanic* language for an English speaker, but THE most difficult *language* in general? In a world where languages like Navajo, Tuyuca, Xhosa, !Xoo, Cantonese, Vietnamese and such exist? Not even remotely close. There are plenty of languages in Europe alone that are much more difficult than Icelandic from an English or German point of view.

I was about to say the same thing. Ganz im Gegenteil von "Unverwandt", Isländisch ist quasi die Mutter aller Germanischen Sprachen- Deutsch, Englisch, Niederländisch, Schwedisch, Norwegisch.... Icelandic is the mother of all Germanic languages.

Ja die alten Wörte wie Blauberre aber sie hat nichts latainich und griechisch war 1000 Jahre von Dänemark verlassen und darum ist es so schwer.dabei wenn ein Mensch von Mittelalter zu uns käme wir sich mit Holländer mehr unterhalten können als mit Deutschen. Amt van Arbeit statt das Wort Arbeitsamt Peters Pulli früher Pullis von Peter .alles mehr von Englischen.Die Sprachen ändern sich das Englische ist in Deutsch immer mehr.
Ich denke, dass meine Muttersprache (Ungarisch) sehr schwer ist. Ich kann sie natürlich fließend sprechen, aber ich kenne zwei Frauen, deren Muttersprache Russisch ist und die schon seit mehr als 20 Jahren in Ungarn leben und die Sprache noch nicht so gut sprechen. Wir können sie verstehen und sie verstehen uns auch (eine von ihnen ist meine Lehrerin), aber sie machen zahlreiche Fehler, die sie schon wissen sollten.

Interesting insights! The more I read & hear German, the more I am becoming comfortable with much of the vocabulary. It's quite an advantage as an English speaker to have so many words rooted in Germanic words. The woman speaking about learning the Korean alphabet script is quite correct - Hanguel script is relatively easy to learn and for an Asian language, you will be able to at least sound out words within a few days. The are also many English words that have been adopted into Korean so learning some vocabulary as a beginner is easier. coffee = 커피 (keopi) :)
Meine Muttersprache ist Englisch. Aber Ich lerne Spanisch und Deutsch.Ich kann ehrlich sagen dass Deutsch ist leichter als Spanisch zu hören und verstehen, weil Englisch und Deutsch beide aus der gleichen Sprachefamilie sind.Aber Spanisch is leichter zu sprechen, weil die Grammatikregeln nicht so kompliziert als Deutsch sind.

Ich komme aus Weißrussland, lerne Englisch und Deutsch, was mir eingentlich viel Spaß macht.
Bestimmt hat jede Sprache so genannte Schwierigkeiten, aber 1) Chinesisch fällt mir schwierig, insbesondere Zeichen zu schreiben und auszusprechen. Als ein Mann im Video schon gesagt hat, ist 2) Finnisch wegen Fällen auch schwierig.
Ich vermute, es gibt keine schwierige Sprachen, es gibt nur zu wenig Geduld und Fleiß.
Alles ist möglich, unmöglich nimmt einfach mehr Zeit in Anspruch.

I learned German in 25 hours to the extent that I could already make sentences like, "Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass Sie kommen würden, wäre ich früher gekommen." I used the Michel Thomas Courses. It was very easy. That typically takes around 4 years if you attend the VHS for example. And the process was really fun.

Indonesia is sometimes considered apart of “Australia-Oceania,” so maybe that’s how it’s explained? As an American, I was taught that Australia is its own continent and that all those other island nations are part South East Asia, but I have also seen people call it Australia-Oceania.

I think it depends somewhat on reading versus speaking. Memorizing different writing systems, especially if they're symbolic instead of phonetic (hey Chinese) is super difficult. But speaking can be a completely different ballpark.
Though resource wise I think learning an obscure language like Navajo (or worse, something from the Nantok-Lenape or any indigenous critically endangered language) would be super difficult if only because there's not the resources to learn it the way there is to learn an official language in a decently powerful nation.
Ich bin Vietnamesischer und meine Ansicht nach ist Deutsch zur zeit die schwierigste Sprache, weil die Grammatik immer sehr kompliziert ist. Ich weiß nicht, wie man immer richtig Deutsch sprechen könnte. Englisch ist aber viel einfacher.

Learning Chinese can be difficult because of tonality. Same pronunciation but different words. Same word but a few definition/inference. When a few characters are combined, you get a different meaning. To remember how to write each Chinese character (words), try writing it at least ten times so your brain can get a "pictorial snapshot". Heck, I'm Chinese but occasionally I do find the lyrics of a Chinese song that is being broadcast impossible to decipher. But the grammar is super easy - no masculine/feminine nouns, articles, tenses, verb conjugation, subject-verb confusion etc.
As a German learning Chinese (Mandarin) was very easy for me. Easier to learn, than English! Also the writing system was not not a problem. I was also able to speak the tones! But it was very difficult for me to hear the tones from a Chinese speaker! It was nearly impossible for me, to distinguish them!
@@WCiossek This basically means that you are not really able to "speak the tones", but it is not your fault. The tones you learned on paper for individual characters often vary a lot in a really spoken sentence. What most frequently happens is that they can be "de-toned" or "neutralized", i.e., 4 different tones all become the 5th neutral tone. But it is also not uncommon that the 4 tones convert into each other. For example, nowadays everyone can say Ni Hao to me with atrocious tones in Germany. Now you know, with proper tones added to the characters, it should be Nĭ Hǎo, both in 3rd tones. But if you actually do 3rd tones strictly for both, I can immediately detect that you are not a native speaker, because the usually untaught trick is when two 3rd tones form one word, the first 3rd tone converts into a 2nd tone. Thus Ní Hǎo is actually the most authentic way to pronounce it.
The thing is, we native speakers mostly are not aware of these tricks and just naturally apply them in spoken Chinese. A Chinese language textbook for Chinese kids doesn't bother to mention that and it still works since we have the language environment. Some Chinese language textbooks/courses for foreigners unfortunately assume the same for you guys without the environment and teach you the over-simplified version of tones. Therefore, I think this is the reason why you can not really hear the tones from a native speaker.

There is one thing people usually don't think about when they are guessing which language is harder: Context. How spread/broadcasted this language is around the world and around internet. Speaking a language that you can't easily find material on internet could make the learning process harder than the the specifics of a language structure.
I speak Mandarin, English, and French, and I used to speak Swedish. In terms of pronunciation, I'd say some of the African languages are the hardest, ones like Xhosa. I've tried my hand at pronouncing words and phrases from a variety of different languages. The Xhosa tongue clicks are the only thing that I cannot even come close to being able to pronounce. As far as grammar goes, I really don't think grammar in ANY language is harder than another. In learning a grammar, it's all about letting go of the conventions of our native language. Anyone who can do that can learn the grammar of any language.
Chinese actually has the easiest grammar in the world but the hardest writing system.
No Japanese writing is much more harder because you don't know the way to pronounce a certain letter.

I've learned every single one of these words. So frustrating because my mind won't pull them out easily. Can't wait for that day when suddenly it'll all be clear like that day when I learned my first second language and I didn't translate it to my first language to understand it for the very first time. I feel like Helen Keller waiting for the first understanding of "water", then it's a much easier climb uphill.
I was quite surpised when I heard that guy talking about Hungarian and Finnish, the same goes for that girl, who mentioned Icelandic, cuz I knew about it, and how hard those languages are, even tho most of the people usually says something like chinese or other asian language and they forget about other languages that are really hard to learn and on top of that they are not linked to other languages, so the similiarity that can help you with learning them is really low or there is no similiarity at all with the other language that you already speak , also depending on where are u from and from which family ur language is the answers are smiliar aswell (like for german, english - slavic languages can be very hard, like russian or polish). Overall I was amazed at how all these people were in the subject of knowledge of languages, even If they just heard about it somewhere or just tried a bit to learn some of the harderst languages. Really nice video that is showing how well educated the europe is, keep it up!
I wonder why they say Japanese is hard. I think they just never try to learn it.
I mean, chinese is hard because they have long-short and melodic vowels. But Japanese is sooo easy to pronounce because they dont have those chinese’s complications. But in terms of writing, i agree that Japanese is hard. There’s a huge difference between language and writing. Language is a speak thing.

Ich habe eine Woche gebraucht, um Hangeul (Koreanisches Alphabet) zu lernen. Die Frau hat recht: koreanisch ist die einfachste asiatische Sprache (also vom Alphabet her) und kann nun jeden empfehlen! Zudem ist die Geschichte dieser Sprache echt interessant und die Kultur allgemein!
Koreanisch für einen Monat um zu lesen .?!?!?!?!?!?! Ne, eine Woche reicht :) :) aber die Grammatik ist ganz verrückt!

für kyrillisch habe ich auch nur so lange gebraucht. aber das kann man bestimmt nicht vergleichen.
I think a lot of languages are hard for native English speakers because while we have an incredible amount of slang and a few hiccups like they're/their/there too/to/two, our grammar is pretty straightforward. No grammatical gender, only one way to say "the" (looking at you, German!!), you don't change sentence structure for different tenses like German (I eat bread and cheese/I ate bread and cheese, Ich esse Brot und Käse/Ich habe Brot und Käse gegessen), for most words to make it plural you just add an S to the end or an ES if it ends with a vowel (vs other languages where there's multiple ways... Vogel - vögel, Junge- jungen, Mädchen - .......Mädchen.... whereas in English it's just "bird-birds, boy-boys, girl-girls, etc). Most other languages have lots of rules we don't have in English so the hardest part about every other language to me has been learning all the weird rules we just don't have, it's having to add more steps to the way we think and speak so I think that's why you find a lot of native English speakers struggling with any language really even the other germanic ones
My other language is Irish, which is seen as not very easy for a lot of people either, but everything about Irish to me makes more sense than even some of the most basic German rules like German. I think German vocabulary is super easy, but no matter how much I practice the articles and sentence structure for past/future tense, I'm struggling. As far as the most difficult language for me personally goes, I'd say Japanese. I spent a couple months with some guys from Finland and Finnish honestly wasn't super difficult for me to pick up on, but perhaps the difference was I was being immersed and surrounded by it vs. learning German or Japanese I've been by myself.
In my opinion it's a question of prospective: it depends from which linguistic bases the learner starts to study the language. For an european learner, some very difficult languages to learn could be asian of african ones, because of different alphabet and sentences structure.

Asian languages are difficult but would love to learn them. I find German very easy to learn as I am from South Africa. Besides our native languages (9 of them) and English, we have Afrikaans as well. Sister language to German. Some of the words are directly from German. Keep up the great work you do with this channel :)

If you are interested in Asian languages you can learn Malaysian or Indonesia. It is basically the same languages and has the same letters as the English alphabet. grammar is very easy as well

Cantonese is my first language; Japanese and Madarin are some of the easiest languages for me. But German and French are very hard for me to learn
Personally i think Vietnames is pretty easy. Cuz we dont have to change anything else. All we need to do is to put things in right order. The hard part is how to pronounce Vietnamese correctly but in fact it takes us around 1 week to get used to it.
The key point is "Practice makes perfect", which is easily applied to any languages on the way mastering them.

The answer is... Navajo. Navajo was used as a secret code in WW2 not only because of the limited quantity of speakers but also because it is he language has a fairly large phoneme inventory; it includes several uncommon consonants that are not found in English. Its four basic vowels are distinguished for nasality, length, and tone. It has both agglutinative and fusional elements: it relies on affixes to modify verbs, and nouns are typically created from multiple morphemes, but in both cases these morphemes are fused irregularly and beyond easy recognition. Basic word order is subject-object-verb, though it is highly flexible to pragmatic factors. Verbs are conjugated for aspect and mood, and given affixes for the person and number of both subjects and objects, as well as a host of other variables.

Ich als gebürtiger Ungar würde neben Chinesisch auch meine eigene Sprache sagen, daher bin ich äußerst stolz darauf dass ich diese schöne, schwierige Sprache als meine Muttersprache beherrschen kann. Für mich persönlich sind die deutsche, englische sowie franzözische Sprache ziemlich einfach und ich mag sie auch sehr! Deutsch lerne ich seit 8 Jahren, Englisch seit 6 und Franzözisch seit einem Jahr und nach dem Deutsch und dem Englisch entwickeln sich meine französischen Kenntnisse wahnsinnig schnell selbst ich bin davon sehr überrascht, obwohl ich Franzözisch am Anfang ziemlich schwer fand. Eines Tages möchte ich alle drei fließend sprechen das ist mein Traum und eventuell noch dazu Spanisch und Arabisch oder Chinesisch lernen das wäre geil! :)

I'd say the hardest language(s) for most any speakers on Earth would have a combination of unusual phonology and grammar, and unrelated to any widely-spoken language family. So, for example, Native American languages (the Salishan and Athabaskan families notably), North Caucasian languages (esp. Adyghe and Kabardian) and Tuu languages like ǃXóõ would be reasonable candidates.
Surely, every language is difficult. What is incredibly important is that you respond to the language when you hear it - you feel 'emotional' towards it. It 'speaks' to you. You have to have an abiding interest, if not a passion, for the language - unless, of course, it is a requirement of future employment or domicile, for example, the use of English. My late English stepfather had such a feeling for French, although his opportunities for using it were quite limited; however, you could say it was his true language. Robert, UK.
Juuuuhhuu Gut, dass niemand sich über Arabisch beschwert hat. Das was ich von einigen Menschen gehört hab, dass die arabische/chinesische Sprache die schwierigsten Sprachen der Welt.

Super cool video! I speak spanish, english, and a bit of french that I am learning, but I have tried learning german and for me it is pretty hard. I just try to think that it is easy and I will get through it. When I try to learn a new language I try to connect it to one that I know, like french with spanish. Hey thank you for doing another video about languages. Obviously many of us are interested in learning about languages and discussing that, so it's always a good topic to do. I hope there are more in the future. As someone learning Mandarin it was funny to see everyone saying it. Actually reading the characters isn't so difficult, although writing with pen and paper would be. The grammar is pretty easy although word order can catch you out. The hardest thing is just the sheer lack of cognates and nobody even mentioned that. But the hardest language? I don't know, why does nobody mention things like tribal languages in the amazon, australia or africa? Those would surely be insanely hard.
For me Arabic is one language where I just can't pronounce the words properly, I can't even get my friends name right, like Cari said about Vietnamese. I hear the grammar is also hard, so maybe arabic would be up there as well.

Probably Chinese or Arabic. Korean and Japanese is kinda easy in terms of alphabet and pronunciation, many loanwords from Chinese and English, but slightly more difficult in terms of the honourific grammar; Vietnamese is difficult in terms of tones and pronunciation only. I find the grammar and vocab is easy.
Deutsch is definitely at the easy end of the spectrum, very similar to English, in fact, too similar, only some vocab is diffficult to remember.

I’ve heard that it is Georgian since it‘s a language isolate and because of its phonology/phonotactics. German is easy in comparison. Relatively similar to English, the main problem (for me) was memorizing case endings, but now it‘s reflexive verbs and syntax.
All the Caucasian languages are weird and strange with difficult sounds for most other language speakers. Same with Athabaskan languages of Americas.

Aber es ist "zwanzig-zwei" sowohl auf Italienisch ("venti-due"), als auch auf Russisch ("dvatzat-dva" / "двадцать-два"). Und ebenfalls auf Englisch (twenty-two)... Auf Russisch gibt es kein Verb "sein"... Zum Beispiel, "ich bin müde" wird als "ich müde" übersetzt ("Ja ustal" / "Я устал"). Auf Russisch gibt es auch kein Artikel ! Zudem ist für einen Italiener der russische Satzbau einfacher als der deutsche Satzbau.

Na ja, als ich in Russland war, sprach ich kein richtiges Russisch sondern ein "falsches Russisch" nur *um mich verständlich zu machen*. Deshalb benutzte ich nur das Nominativ (kein Genitiv, kein Dativ, kein Akkusativ, usw.). Da der Russische Satzbau nicht zu anders als der Italienische Satzbau ist, war es ziemlich einfach für mich in jener Weise zu sprechen und die Russen verstanden mich gleichfalls obwohl ich kein richtiges Russisch sprach...
Aus meine Perkspektive, dass hängt davon ab, Gibt es viele Antem schwierigkeiten, zum Beispiel, die Gramatik oder vielleicht die Aussprache, die Vokabeln, Schreiben und so weiter.
Einer der Schwierigste vielleicht Finnisch und Hungarisch sind, Arabisch, Russisch, Deutsch, und so weiter.

Well as a native Chinese I must admit Chinese is hard. It's hard because as adults learning languages we need rules to accelerate the process but in Chinese there are too many rules, and there are rules that are not that obvious, with lots of exceptions. Some might say the grammar is easy, but no, although technically you can just put words together without worrying about the order too much, there are many customs in which a sentence should be made. It would be much easier if one starts learning very young, in which case he will acquire the language naturally.

Arabisch ist sehr schwierig. Es gibt Worte, die wir heute noch nicht erklären können!
Meiner Meinung nach ist (als Amerikaner), dass Arabisch und Vietnamesisch die schwierigsten Sprachen der Welt zu lernen sind, weil der ehemalige hat so viele Dialekte mit einer Vielzahl von Aussprachen. Die letztere des Paares hat so viele Töne, die steigen und fast gleichzeitig fallen. Im moment lerne ich immernoch Russisch und Mandarin. Letzteres macht die ehemalige mehr rudimentär. Ich habe Russisch für sechs monate studiert und habe Mandarin für drei monate studiert. Ich kann mehr als 500 zeichnen definieren. Liebesgrüße aus die Vereinigten Staaten.

Ich würde Niederländisch sagen. Hab vorher kurz versucht, niederländisch zu lernen, und es war sehr einfach denn sehr viele Wörter sind genau so wie deutsche Wörter, nur leicht anders Rechtschreibung
+Seongmo Kim Das ist das einzige Problem. Ich habe Niederländisch gelernt, aber wenig Übung. Und genau deshalb habe ich auch Hemmungen zu sprechen. Theoretisch kann ich einfach alle Wörter, die ich nicht kenne, aus dem Deutschen nehmen und wie Niederländisch sprechen. In 60% der Fälle funktioniert ist und in 80% der Fälle versteht man es trotzdem. Aber ich finde es zu peinlich, einfach wie ein Deutscher zu sprechen :)

As a linguist , ESL and German teacher I truly believe it depends on what your native language is. I grew up bilingually and had to teach myself German when I went to school in Germany. I thought it was horrid at the time. Years later I enjoy teaching it because I am in the states and much more relaxed then I was living in Germany. Your attitude plays a huge role too. Do you like the language? Do you like the people? Do the natives welcome your desire to learn? Many here say Chinese is the hardest. Ask a Chinese person or listen to one... They will tell you English..:)English grammar is not that difficult but having a very good vocabulary in English is another story... Just saying..:) Thank you for your videos Easy German. Aber das größte Problem für mich ist Sprechen, weil hier in Thailand ich nur wenige Gelegenheiten habe, Deutsch zu sprechen.
Komisch, dass so viele Leute Mandarin sagten, aber keiner hat Kantonesisch nachgedacht. Meiner Meinung nach ist Mandarin einfacher zu lernen als Kantonesisch, denn es gibt darin nur vier verschiedene Töne (im Kantonesisch gibt es sieben), und die Laute von Mandarin sind leichter zu erkennen und zu aussprechen. Doch die chinesische Grammatik ist unglaublich einfach, und deshalb braucht man sich keine Sorgen um komplizierte Regeln zu machen. Dafür finden viele Chinesen einige europäische Sprachen (wie Englisch und Deutsch) ganz schwierig, auch wenn sie seid viele Jahren die Sprachen lernen.

I’ve been looking for a comment like this. Navajo makes languages like Hungarian, Finnish and Arabic look incredibly easy by comparison.
Admittedly, my understanding of this subject is _quite_ limited, compared to a lot of the people who are going to see this comment, but after developing a functional use of _Spanish_ and having a number of _conversations_ in Spanish, I feel pretty confident in calling _English_ one of the most difficult languages. It's relatively easy for _me,_ and for most native-speakers, because we tackled it _first._ But with English, there are times when it seems like there are _thousands_ of rules and _thousands of exceptions_ to each one.
I can't speak for other English-speaking countries, but in the US, we like to poke fun at a lot of visitors from Spanish-speaking countries for the _maddening_ difficulty they have pronouncing words that come _easily_ to us, but consider it. One who has a difficult time learning how to roll one's r's is well advised to consider just how difficult it is to learn how _not_ to.
Every language has a set of phonemes that is contextually unique to that language, and _another_ set of phonemes it shares with (insert language here). Many a native English speaker has struggled with the phonemes they have in Spanish that we don't and as a result, come to see Spanish as difficult. Now, yes, the list of phonemes that Spanish has that English _doesn't_ is not, by any means, concise... until one compares it with the list of phonemes that _English_ has that _Spanish_ doesn't._
Consider the letter "a." In English, we have it and it bears _three_ phonemes (one of which is actually a combination of two others, so if you want to be _really_ technical, four). In Spanish, on the other hand, they have it as _well,_ but it only bears _one._ The sound one uses with words like "man," "can," "badge" and "salad" is a phoneme they don't _have_ in Spanish. So someone who has grown up speaking Spanish has no idea how to form it, and thus, has a tendency to _mispronounce_ words like these.
I just get started back german lessons. Your language it's very logical but the oral understanding it's hardest one to succeed 😵 I think needing 5 years to understand a normal conversation.

@@71tasha71 after 10 years of decent immersion, they speak really great. There are not many of such though - simply because not many study it. Check out our dear V. Pozner - he started learning Russian being 15 yrs old, moved to Russia at 18, and after graduating - spending in Russia only 6 yrs - he considered a career of a Ru poet! It's just a tendency to ignore such examples or try to justify them at any cost (btw Pozner's father NEVER talked Russian in his presence - in case someone wishes to justify his case).

As an English speaker, I find German grammar quite similar to English. As far as learning Asian language is concerned, for English speakers or someone who’s familiar with a Germanic or Romance language, learning to speak Chinese may come more naturally than doing so in Korean or Japanese due to the latter’s distinctive grammar structure. When it comes to reading and writing, however, Korean may be the easiest of all Asian languages thanks to its simple alphabets.

Ich bin Japaner. Die schwierigste Sprache der Welt ist Japanisch, glaube ich. Wir haben ziemlich viele Zeichen wie Chinesisch, aber es gibt einige Aussprachen für jede Zeichen. Zum Beispiel kann man die Zeiche "美" als "bi" ," mi" "utsukusii" aussprechen.
Anderen Art von Zeichen haben wir auch auf Japanisch.

It's so hard to read and write Chinese but speaking it isn't so bad. The grammar is really simple and similar to english, you just have to learn the tones. I'm learning Korean now and it's definitely not as hard to read and write as Chinese, the alphabet makes so much sense even if the grammar is extremely different from any European language
I just learn German language about a week, xD I a little confused when I listening i thought it was English and sometimes it was German. I'm non-native English speaker, all the times I listen or read German I had to translate German to English in my head cuase I learn German by use English to speak.

Arabic is the hardest trust me. I'm Persian and our alphabet is the same with Arabic and there are many similar words but damn it's still impossible to learn Arabic!

Half of my coworkers are Vietnamese so I can't speak it but I can understand some of what they say now. Although, I think Arabic, Chinese or some of the American Indian languages would be very difficult to learn.

Ich komme aus Thailand, so i'd say chinese is easy for thai people to learn bc both grammar structures are similar. we can adapt our thai pronunciation to some chinese words. We can speak/understand so quickly. Yet, one struggling is reading chinese.
