One of the most human reactions to Sayori's story in general. I felt that her story was so haunting because of how extremely realistic it was. Played DDLC for the first time three days back and...THAT scene was the first to absolutely crush me. Great playthrough.
Seriously, sometimes I wish the game would've been more about the first act and the aftermatch of Sayori's story. I mean, I like the game as is, but the first act has some nice writing.
The thing that makes it worse for next is the MC is partially responsible for how she views herself. He's always treating her like a burden, even if he cares about her, he's constantly criticizing her, talking about he bad she is at things. It's honestly sad.

I always break down crying at the end of this game, during Monikas song and subsequent letter. I've never had a video game character that I've felt like I've failed so much. Genuinely installed a mod just to give Monika her happy ending. To go from a lovecraftian monster, to a tragic victim, to the games heroine, best video game character ever.
Not gonna lie, getting "Isn't it amazing how a writer can so deliberately take advantage of your own lack of imagination to completely throw you for a loop" written on your ass cheek is an amazing tattoo idea.
I actually heard that the developer of the game based Sayori's character off of one of his friends who was also struggling with depression. And I think that's very sweet. Also I never thought Yuri with a southern accent was something I needed in my life but here we are... 🤣
at 6:47:38, it didnt seem like your mouse was getting moved. Normally, the game would drag your mouse to Monika's name. You'd have to push against it to click another option. Still glad you did though! Always a fun reaction to see.
I thought that was an old bug that got patched out, but I guess what it must be is that she had it in a windowed mode that the game doesn't deal with very well - it's linked to the way the graphics zoom in when the screen corrupts horizontally. There's a certain windowed setting that the game doesn't calculate correctly.
Monika only has control of your mouse. If you use the keyboard instead, you can highlight things without her interference. I kind of assumed that's what Voxy did here.
This was a great video to watch and probably one of the most entertaining Let's Plays of this game I've ever seen. DDLC really sets itself apart from other horror games in a way where it isn't just trying to jumpscare you to achieve it's horror. The game really messes with your mind and makes you go through a whole wave of emotions while playing and that's why it's considered one of the best horror games of all time. The struggles the 3 non-Monika girls are battling with in their lives (depression, self-harm, abuse) are very relatable to everyone and really helps strike that emotional chord that makes the moments with them that much more heartbreaking. Even Monika, even though she appears to be a "villain" of sorts, has probably the most tragic story of them all. Imagine you were trapped in a world where you were the only sentient being and your only way of communicating is through the brief interactions you get with the player of the game. It would eat away at you forever, so all she ever wanted was a way out of the eternal hell she's trapped in. DDLC is truly a masterpiece and Dan Salvato is a true genius. I'm not an emotional guy but even I was on the verge of tears when I first played. This game really keeps you thinking well after you've finished playing and the emotions this game is able to convey and draw out make it one of the most highly acclaimed games of all time. I very much enjoyed seeing you play.
I have watched this playthrough probably about 5 times. I come back to it regularly as something familiar and entertaining to have on in the background when I'm doing something else... and when every other video on TH-cam just isn't cutting it for some reason. If vids had a "safe food," this'd be it. 💜
There’s an Easter egg that you got at 4:35:35 and another time where the calendar in the background changes to sayori’s “scene”, not sure if you noticed it and I missed it but it’s one that a lot of people miss on their playthrough. Great video though probably my favourite playthrough of the game!

Voxy is one of the most entertaining streamers out there and this is Voxy at her best: from the BOP cringe to the emotional investment to the horror movie screams. Literally enjoyed watching her play more than I would have enjoyed playing it myself.
I've seen people play DDLC over a dozen times but your playthrough is definitely at the top of my list. Your reactions and the fact that you got several hard to get occurrences made this pure gold. I'd love to see you play DDLC+ since it has side stories that help you understand the characters better.

This is one of my favorite games to watch a playthrough of, and I have to say I absolutely adore yours the most. Your reactions, the way you were freaked out yet excited by how the game gets in your head, it was wonderful seeing you appreciate the twists and turns by going headfirst into it and really experiencing the nightmare rollercoaster and taking it all like a champ. I hope you consider streaming more interactive novel games in the future. If I may, I think you might enjoy Scarlet Hollow if you want a more immersive experience set in the Appalachian Mountain region, or Little Misfortune if you want something cartoonishly funny yet still disturbing. You're a fantastic streamer and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Holy shit. I LOVE watching people do blind playthroughs of this game. But you definitely might have my favorite one. It's such a rough game, and usually I'm watching for funny reactions to the jumps, but you actually gave a damn for what happened in the story, and I actually really enjoyed that human-ness of the video
I'm two years late but that's okay, I've been on a Doki-Doki rampage lately (just watching peoples reactions again because of how amazing this game is)- I LOVED your playthrough so much actually one of my favorite playthroughs maybe even my favorite because sure it was a little dramatic but you had so many good reactions (I have seen people have legit no reaction to Sayori hanging herself), you were absolutely hilarious (I never thought that I'd get cowgirl Yuri or smoker Monika, when I heard your voice for both of them I was on the floor dying- my abs were hurting), you got rare scenes, but sadly you didn't get to see Natsuki's poem- you probably already know but her father abused her very badly she was terrified of him... he basically starved her and would physically hurt her as well that's why her Manga collection was in the classroom because if he found out he would have hurt her (also again you probably already know but in the second part of the game when you write the poem for that one person at the beginning you stick with them even if you write the next one for the other person, plus Yuri was just very possessive- but if you got to hang out with Natsuki you can see her tone down a bit, she starts to like you, and you get more information on her and her father)! Also yes I see Natsuki and Yuri- I actually kind of Ship them they would be very cute and even though they are complete opposites- they understand each other, anyways I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy! This is one of the rare times I have seen someone just picking words from their heart instead of asking chat or aiming for a specific girl. It was powerful. I havent seen alot of Voxys content, but I feel like I understand her a little better after seeing this.

If I’m to be honest as someone who suffers from depression sayori’s story is pretty accurate an very relatable, it’s tough to get past knowing her backstory and how people don’t understand how her mind works and the feelings that she portrayed.

It's been a while after i experience the game myself, and this video stumbled upon my recommendation and i realized that its an old video, but i give it a chance anyway, sit through 8 hours video, the game never fail to makes me cry and you have the most genuine reaction i ever seen the playthrough of and i actually really enjoyed it, thankyou for accompanying me for 8 hours in my struggle times, im new here but heyy keep up the great workk
took me three days to do it with my schedule but watched from beginning to end. no matter how many times i watch the game being played, it's always been best to see the genuine reaction those that don't know what to expect at all the major events and as the glitches progress. felt bad at times because of your reaction and thinking "yeah, but what's coming next is going to get her too". you probably didn't know there were two other endings as well at the time of recording and one of them would've really freaked you out. but this was an absolute delight with your reactions. and when it came out for sale on Xbox, i had to buy it to get the personal joy of going through the game as well (though probably not quite the same knowing what to expect). don't know how Dan Salvato can top this as this was well crafted. Go DDLC!
Amazing playthrough! This game was beyond my expectations and this was the first game I've played that made me alter the game files to progress the game. Also, as you played, the game files change as well (not just the character files that were altered, but Monika adds secret files as well). There are a lot of stuff in DDLC that takes a bunch of hours to find. So much stuff that I haven't really found all of the dialogues in the game. Regardless, this game is definitely a masterpiece and the developer, Dan Salvato, was a genius when he came up with this cursed game. I'm really excited for DDLC Plus, which includes the new Side Stories, and according to Dan Salvato, the total length of all the Side Stories is over 50% the length of the original DDLC game. The new game comes out tomorrow at the time of this comment, so I'm extremely excited to go in blind again. I hope you give DDLC Plus a try also. Thank you for playing!

This was a great play through! This is my favorite game ever, and it’s true that there’s so many layers! I mean there’s load of content and Easter eggs that I didn’t even know til after the game, especially in the files. as a ddlc know-it-all who loves watching people react to it, this was an extremely enjoyable stream. i loved seeing your mind get blown and then geek out over how it blew your mind. this game truly changed my life and the way i look at storytelling, i’m glad you had as good of a time as you did
This is legitimately one of my favorite video games. I love all the characters, even Monika, because of how real their troubles are. Sayori's depression, Yuri's self-harm and crippling anxiety, and Natsuki's horrible home life and malnourishment problem (which is why she's so short and petite), these are all problems real people deal with. And Sayori's depiction of depression is one of the most believable and accurate depictions I've ever seen in fiction (as someone who has gone through it and is still going through it today). But also because of how expertly crafted the scares are. There's so much effort put into making this game feel as uncomfortable as possible. Also, as a Visual Novel fan, it already gets bonus points.
Dan Salvato (the creator) has a twitch channel. He did a director's commentary playthrough for one of the anniversaries and it is fantastic if you want to know more about the game.
She's so sentimental and precious! I loved her reactions throughout this entire game. But Sayori's confession about her depression... That was priceless...
Idk why this was recommended to me now either (maybe new DDLC +) but I am glad because this was gold. There was even stuff in there that wasn't there when I first watched people play through it so it was fun to see those new bits. (Monika slowly appearing through Yuri for example). The way this game gets you to care about the characters and drives you to try to save them when there's literally no way to do so is just unmatched and in the end, deeply moving... I had never played a visual novel/dating sim before. I was attracted to DDLC by the "psychological horror" label. And it sure involves horror, but thematically, it goes so well beyond that and into depths of psychology I wasn't expecting at all. Masterpiece. EDIT : I had the same reaction you had after Sayori's death... wish someone would have told me it wasn't the end, cause it took me a while to get that. I had to stop playing for a while after her death just to digest the scene

This was a wonderful playthrough, rarely seen an LPer this invested - most of the bigger ones play it for laughs but yours is one of the most straight-up *heartfelt*. If you haven't already, I encourage you to look up all the Easter Egg stuff (I recommend via Game Theory / GTLive) for the original game, and then shell out for DDLC+, which gives you another few hours of prequel stories, new music, wallpapers, original character sketches etc. 🤗💌

Never have I felt so useless in my attempts to help a cast of characters. This game devastated me when I first played it. Monika is still my favorite game character to this day
Perfect playthrough. After the end I saw that there were like 15 minutes left and I assumed you would also do the secret early ending. But the talk at the end was nice regardless. Also since it felt liek it wasn't conveyed that well, the thing with the game using your windows account name only happens if it does not detect any recording programs running. Instead of the name you get the scene where Monika says that she knows you are recording her.

I always break down crying at the end of this game, during Monikas song and subsequent letter. I've never had a video game character that I've felt like I've failed so much. Genuinely installed a mod just to give Monika her happy ending.
To go from a lovecraftian monster, to a tragic victim, to the games heroine, best video game character ever.
Not gonna lie, getting "Isn't it amazing how a writer can so deliberately take advantage of your own lack of imagination to completely throw you for a loop" written on your ass cheek is an amazing tattoo idea.
Like the words "Your Name" so you can go around telling people "I have Your Name tattooed on my ass" 😂😂😂
i'm not exaggerating, i don't think i've ever had that much fun watching someone playthrough a game.
I actually heard that the developer of the game based Sayori's character off of one of his friends who was also struggling with depression. And I think that's very sweet.
Also I never thought Yuri with a southern accent was something I needed in my life but here we are... 🤣
at 6:47:38, it didnt seem like your mouse was getting moved. Normally, the game would drag your mouse to Monika's name. You'd have to push against it to click another option. Still glad you did though! Always a fun reaction to see.
I thought that was an old bug that got patched out, but I guess what it must be is that she had it in a windowed mode that the game doesn't deal with very well - it's linked to the way the graphics zoom in when the screen corrupts horizontally. There's a certain windowed setting that the game doesn't calculate correctly.
Monika only has control of your mouse. If you use the keyboard instead, you can highlight things without her interference. I kind of assumed that's what Voxy did here.
And just think, in less than a week, we can all relive the emotional trauma, in HD!

This was a great video to watch and probably one of the most entertaining Let's Plays of this game I've ever seen. DDLC really sets itself apart from other horror games in a way where it isn't just trying to jumpscare you to achieve it's horror. The game really messes with your mind and makes you go through a whole wave of emotions while playing and that's why it's considered one of the best horror games of all time. The struggles the 3 non-Monika girls are battling with in their lives (depression, self-harm, abuse) are very relatable to everyone and really helps strike that emotional chord that makes the moments with them that much more heartbreaking. Even Monika, even though she appears to be a "villain" of sorts, has probably the most tragic story of them all. Imagine you were trapped in a world where you were the only sentient being and your only way of communicating is through the brief interactions you get with the player of the game. It would eat away at you forever, so all she ever wanted was a way out of the eternal hell she's trapped in. DDLC is truly a masterpiece and Dan Salvato is a true genius. I'm not an emotional guy but even I was on the verge of tears when I first played. This game really keeps you thinking well after you've finished playing and the emotions this game is able to convey and draw out make it one of the most highly acclaimed games of all time. I very much enjoyed seeing you play.
I have watched this playthrough probably about 5 times. I come back to it regularly as something familiar and entertaining to have on in the background when I'm doing something else... and when every other video on TH-cam just isn't cutting it for some reason. If vids had a "safe food," this'd be it. 💜

There’s an Easter egg that you got at 4:35:35 and another time where the calendar in the background changes to sayori’s “scene”, not sure if you noticed it and I missed it but it’s one that a lot of people miss on their playthrough. Great video though probably my favourite playthrough of the game!

Voxy is one of the most entertaining streamers out there and this is Voxy at her best: from the BOP cringe to the emotional investment to the horror movie screams. Literally enjoyed watching her play more than I would have enjoyed playing it myself.
I've seen people play DDLC over a dozen times but your playthrough is definitely at the top of my list. Your reactions and the fact that you got several hard to get occurrences made this pure gold. I'd love to see you play DDLC+ since it has side stories that help you understand the characters better.

This is one of my favorite games to watch a playthrough of, and I have to say I absolutely adore yours the most. Your reactions, the way you were freaked out yet excited by how the game gets in your head, it was wonderful seeing you appreciate the twists and turns by going headfirst into it and really experiencing the nightmare rollercoaster and taking it all like a champ. I hope you consider streaming more interactive novel games in the future. If I may, I think you might enjoy Scarlet Hollow if you want a more immersive experience set in the Appalachian Mountain region, or Little Misfortune if you want something cartoonishly funny yet still disturbing.

I'm two years late but that's okay, I've been on a Doki-Doki rampage lately (just watching peoples reactions again because of how amazing this game is)- I LOVED your playthrough so much actually one of my favorite playthroughs maybe even my favorite because sure it was a little dramatic but you had so many good reactions (I have seen people have legit no reaction to Sayori hanging herself), you were absolutely hilarious (I never thought that I'd get cowgirl Yuri or smoker Monika, when I heard your voice for both of them I was on the floor dying- my abs were hurting), you got rare scenes, but sadly you didn't get to see Natsuki's poem- you probably already know but her father abused her very badly she was terrified of him... he basically starved her and would physically hurt her as well that's why her Manga collection was in the classroom because if he found out he would have hurt her (also again you probably already know but in the second part of the game when you write the poem for that one person at the beginning you stick with them even if you write the next one for the other person, plus Yuri was just very possessive- but if you got to hang out with Natsuki you can see her tone down a bit, she starts to like you, and you get more information on her and her father)! Also yes I see Natsuki and Yuri- I actually kind of Ship them they would be very cute and even though they are complete opposites- they understand each other, anyways I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

If I’m to be honest as someone who suffers from depression sayori’s story is pretty accurate an very relatable, it’s tough to get past knowing her backstory and how people don’t understand how her mind works and the feelings that she portrayed.

took me three days to do it with my schedule but watched from beginning to end. no matter how many times i watch the game being played, it's always been best to see the genuine reaction those that don't know what to expect at all the major events and as the glitches progress. felt bad at times because of your reaction and thinking "yeah, but what's coming next is going to get her too". you probably didn't know there were two other endings as well at the time of recording and one of them would've really freaked you out. but this was an absolute delight with your reactions.
and when it came out for sale on Xbox, i had to buy it to get the personal joy of going through the game as well (though probably not quite the same knowing what to expect). don't know how Dan Salvato can top this as this was well crafted. Go DDLC!

Amazing playthrough! This game was beyond my expectations and this was the first game I've played that made me alter the game files to progress the game. Also, as you played, the game files change as well (not just the character files that were altered, but Monika adds secret files as well). There are a lot of stuff in DDLC that takes a bunch of hours to find. So much stuff that I haven't really found all of the dialogues in the game. Regardless, this game is definitely a masterpiece and the developer, Dan Salvato, was a genius when he came up with this cursed game.
I'm really excited for DDLC Plus, which includes the new Side Stories, and according to Dan Salvato, the total length of all the Side Stories is over 50% the length of the original DDLC game. The new game comes out tomorrow at the time of this comment, so I'm extremely excited to go in blind again. I hope you give DDLC Plus a try also. Thank you for playing!

This was a great play through! This is my favorite game ever, and it’s true that there’s so many layers! I mean there’s load of content and Easter eggs that I didn’t even know til after the game, especially in the files. After watching different playthroughs of this game, yours is the best.
On a real note, though dan salvato is one of (if not) the best devs, with almost (if not) the most knowledge of in-depth deep coding ive ever seen/heard of.
as a ddlc know-it-all who loves watching people react to it, this was an extremely enjoyable stream. i loved seeing your mind get blown and then geek out over how it blew your mind. this game truly changed my life and the way i look at storytelling, i’m glad you had as good of a time as you did
This is legitimately one of my favorite video games. I love all the characters, even Monika, because of how real their troubles are. Sayori's depression, Yuri's self-harm and crippling anxiety, and Natsuki's horrible home life and malnourishment problem (which is why she's so short and petite), these are all problems real people deal with. And Sayori's depiction of depression is one of the most believable and accurate depictions I've ever seen in fiction (as someone who has gone through it and is still going through it today).
But also because of how expertly crafted the scares are. There's so much effort put into making this game feel as uncomfortable as possible.
Also, as a Visual Novel fan, it already gets bonus points.
Dan Salvato (the creator) has a twitch channel. He did a director's commentary playthrough for one of the anniversaries and it is fantastic if you want to know more about the game.
She's so sentimental and precious! I loved her reactions throughout this entire game. But Sayori's confession about her depression... That was priceless...
Idk why this was recommended to me now either (maybe new DDLC +) but I am glad because this was gold. There was even stuff in there that wasn't there when I first watched people play through it so it was fun to see those new bits. (Monika slowly appearing through Yuri for example). Loved the reactions and the chat playing along xD

The way this game gets you to care about the characters and drives you to try to save them when there's literally no way to do so is just unmatched and in the end, deeply moving... I had never played a visual novel/dating sim before. I was attracted to DDLC by the "psychological horror" label. And it sure involves horror, but thematically, it goes so well beyond that and into depths of psychology I wasn't expecting at all. Masterpiece.
EDIT : I had the same reaction you had after Sayori's death... wish someone would have told me it wasn't the end, cause it took me a while to get that. I had to stop playing for a while after her death just to digest the scene

This was a wonderful playthrough, rarely seen an LPer this invested - most of the bigger ones play it for laughs but yours is one of the most straight-up *heartfelt*.
If you haven't already, I encourage you to look up all the Easter Egg stuff (I recommend via Game Theory / GTLive) for the original game, and then shell out for DDLC+, which gives you another few hours of prequel stories, new music, wallpapers, original character sketches etc.

Perfect playthrough. After the end I saw that there were like 15 minutes left and I assumed you would also do the secret early ending. But the talk at the end was nice regardless. Also since it felt liek it wasn't conveyed that well, the thing with the game using your windows account name only happens if it does not detect any recording programs running. Instead of the name you get the scene where Monika says that she knows you are recording her.
