I'm here because I wanted to know who voice acted Calypso in the kids show Bluey. I like Megan Washington. Her voice is great and the fact that she made it into the entertainment world with a speech impediment is inspiring. I used to have a terrible stutter growing up and I know how hard it is and how people treat you differently... You're awesome Megan :)

The reason she can sing but not talk is because she is breathing properly as she sings but not properly as she talks. She has developed difficulties in breathing as she speaks and not solved that problem yet. I recommend she try to speak as if she is singing and in no other method. This is how I work with post stroke and brain damage people. Singing is the original way to speak and has been taken out of our conversations by the Industrial Revolution and us moving into city environments. I guess she is from a city. I was raised in the countryside which has probably meant that I kept my melodic speaking voice. Getting a job on a farm for a few years, say, 7 years, would probably help.

Most people who stutter while taking, don't really stutter while singing. Albeit, not sing this well.

She spoke about using this method as a child. Her speech therapist taught her how using a 'singsong-y voice' can help quell the stutter.
