Just listening to this Dev lad for an hour would help you become a long term investor, he's so chilled out, I've made Visa and ASML some of my bigger positions in the last year. Still kicking myself I sold Aspen but it'll come back down for me someday. I don't think there's another investor I'd just buy any of their stocks in a dip without worry. Well, maybe Li Lu, but there isn't many. This channel has been so helpful to me. I;ve grown from a portfolio of 100 or so unprofitable tech stocks when I started in 2021 wathcing the wrong TH-cam channels, to now owning 20 or so companies drawn from Dev here, Chris Mayer, Andrew Brenton and a few others. Nearly all of the investors I follow I first found on your channel. Empowering regular folks to educate themselves on how to sort out this aspect of their families lives is quite the achievement, you're doing God's work out here.
Dev is my favorite speaker in the current generation of prominent investors. He has extreme clarity on his objectives and the paths he wants to avoid. Even more impressive is his ability to not get tempted by “shiny objects” along the way and stay disciplined. It must be extremely hard to do this in the world of Palantirs and Nvidia. Kudos to him and his team. I hope to build the same mindset myself and I feel I am more than halfway there. Cheers!
Dev seems like a really good guy, love the nature of his discipline and un-emotional investing. Was very happy to see that he doubled his ASML last quarter, as I was buying the dip. Feels good to be on the right path and making similar decisions. Highly predictable business model with very little competition. Said it perfectly when he combined growth with predictably. ASML may be the best in class for that right now.
Invaluable conversation! Just the person you need to repeatedly hear to get your head in the right space to succeed as a long term retail investor. Its 99% mental discipline and 1% skill.
P/E is not a useful metric for CSI due to their big amortization expenses (they're non-cash as a result of acquisitions). Cash flows are much more useful.
@@clayfinck431 Thank you for the reply. You are right. The last 5 years the price move is justified by anything but the net income. Previous 5 looked overhyped yet it doesn’t matter. Market introduced the company to another league. Only history and common sense scream nothing grows forever.
Totally disagree with him on big tech. He doesn’t understand that AI being a commodity is already known. But it means nothing if you don’t have the data and distribution system to productize and sell into. He’s going to continue to miss what is clearly one of the best market opportunities in Amazon, Google, Nvidia, and probably others in the Mag 7. AMD will also rise with chiplet AIs. Not that it will matter for him. That’s the beautiful thing about equities. You don’t need to hit every fat pitch. But it is interesting that he seems content to make this mistake again.
Successful investing is hard work because it means disciplining your mind to do the opposite of human nature. Buying during a panic, selling during euphoria, and holding on when you are bored and just craving a little action. Investing is 5% intellect and 95% temperament.
Government policy has thrown the future under the bus for decades. The day of judgment is near. I predict an 80% drop in the stock market. Investors will abandon stocks in favor of real estate. There will be no money in banks... You must devise a strategy for survival.

Thank you so much for the lovely message. Your support means the world! 🙏
Honestly I'm just looking for like 5-8 good companies and that's it.
Outstanding discussion. Specially liked the extreme delayed gratification bit. Dev is super clear on what he stands for
Glad you enjoyed the episode! 🙌
It speaks to patience.

Thanks for having Dev on the show. I would love to see Dev on the show more regularly like every six months at least.
Going by his philosophy, he wont have much new to say every 6 months
Glad you liked the interview! 💯
Awesome interview!!

Thank you so much! 🎉
Did you have any video of this conversation? Or is it only audio?
Hi, the guest requested to do an audio-only interview. Thanks so much for tuning in! 😀
should have asked about ASML which is one of the most interesting holdings
Why don't add to turkish subtitle 😢
Forward PE for the Constellation Software is almost 4x lower than trailing...

@@clayfinck431 Another way is to add those back as investment which gives a more reasonable number (assumed the high bars in acquisitions).

Interesting that Dev’s not interested in oil companies. They are going to be cranking 10,15, and 20 years to come.
Why do people say “learning lesson?” As a writer I find this redundant.
You're insufferable.
