    Here's a good one...
    Back in 1987' I couldn't afford a 3 sectional staff
( even if I could, I like making weapons) and we found 1 1/4 ash dowel rods at a discount store. And boy did it look strange, 5 of us buying 2-3 rods apiece ( today they most likely called the police thinking that we were up to something.) For 3 sectionals. My Scottish blood line came out, and because I didn't have a drill,
I hand turned an eye screw into the end of the rod. It took awhile and a screw driver for a lever but I got it done,( I will not be doing that again). I used it about 5 times since, the thing scares me to death 😀.
I finally bought a wushu 3 sectional and could hardly believe how thin it was! But to be fair...the 3 sectional was made of wax wood and didn't need to be so thick to have the same strength. I made a "3 sectional rod" from one, to put the screws in I had to clamp the drill claws on the screws to put them in. The wood was that hard. We also had a student show up to 3 sectional class wearing a motor cycle helmet and a big smile saying, " I'm not going to hit my head this week." 😀

Thick"1.25" or so, white wax wood 3 section staffs, from China, are the standard. They have the bark peeled off from natural white was wood plants, providing a natural grip on a wooden surface. Those weapons have been unavailable for 5 or 10 years in 2024.

I have wanted to get working with this weapon for so long.
I can see how this unites the body as a unit. I wouldn't mind waging that the vibrational feedback would increase bone density as well.

That's really interesting, it might work that way. My Sifu taught an advanced HungGar kata that is all sounds. It is to build the nerve pressure points. Then there is the cats purring, it has been proven by science that cats purring actually builds bone. Look up " why Do cats purr." The rings on weapons are for fighting purposes, but it could be for using the rattling to vibrate the bones and build them also. You might be on to something, I'm going to check it out my self. There is a lot that the west still doesn't know about the Martial Arts .
