Hi there! "Puzzle" is one of their finest songs in my opinion. The lyrics are about falling in love with a married man and all the lies and deceit that entails. In this version - the rock version - Saiki sings with aggression almost anger. In the acoustic version she sings with total heartbreak. The acoustic version is just two of them, Saiki on main vocals and Kanami on acoustic guitar and backing vocals. Watch it if you can find it - it's quite rare. It's absolutely different and stunning. It makes me cry every time.
This, in my opinion, is the height of Band-Maid's development, progression, growth, maturity, whatever you want to call it. What a performance, what a sound. Oh I could go on and on about how great this performance is. Goose bumps all the way.
What I like in reactions is when a reactor stops the video, talks a bit about the greatness of Band maid and then rewind the track back. It shows real appreciation of the musicianship.
This version finally gives Kanami’s guitar work some love. She does this sort of thing in every composition, but it often gets buried in the mix. Another important aspect here is that she is playing the three layered guitar parts from the original album version by herself. All the comments recommending the acoustic version for you are absolutely correct. Definitely check that out for yourself
Not sure I'd even call Band Maid Jrock anymore other than it being in Japanese. It doesn't share as much of the typical Japanese music characteristics as some other groups. They really are an international phenomenon at this point. 👍
FINALLY! So many years overdue. This will help build the fanbase even further! To Band-Maid and management: Thank you for the release of Puzzle, and please don't forget all the other wonderful live performances, songs and responses from their JBI and WD albums at the 2018 ZEPP and 2017 Studio Coast concerts (found on that bili website and bandmaidprime). The 2023 Garden and 2021 Shibuya performances are great, too! 🤘🎀🤘 And thank you, Welder, for covering another Band-Maid masterpiece!
Great reaction again- Thanks. Everything you said was correct. Band-Maid are just so stylish in their appearance, in their attitude and in their music.
An earlier version Of "Puzzle" is what sealed the deal on my love of Band Maid. The difference is Miku, earlier version she was not as strong the guitar. She has come a long way with her guitar form 6 years ago.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. Nowadays, it is sometimes said that ``rock is dead''. Recently, it has been said that "Rock was born in America, grew up in England, and was perfected in Japan." Currently, there are many world-class rock groups in Japan. Babymetal, Bandmaid, Love Bites, One OK Rock, Nemophila, HANABIE, and many others. Please check it out and have a look.
Anyone still seeing this video - 1 month later - PUZZLE - live Acoustic - only 2 members of the band (KANAMI - lead guitarist and music writer with SAIKI - lead singer) - th-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/w-d-xo.html YES it is the same song!
In Japanese culture, tattoos are considered bad and people are considered beautiful just the way they are. However, one-point tattoos also tend to be treated as fashion.
Saiki has a couple of discrete tattoos. Miku is an ancient spirit pigeon and has to concentrate to manifest as a human being. Likewise they are all just avatars of spiritual beings. So what more do you want. When you're supernatural you don't need body art. 😂

It's a shame the studio acoustic doesn't have Kanami's backing vocal...but it's still a beauty to listen to.
I feel like in the acoustic Saiki is begging and pleading, and in the rock version she is slamming you into the wall.

I agree with you my friend.

I wouldn't say they look "normal"...they're GORGEOUS! 😍

There's nothing puzzling about why so many people love Band-Maid!

THE best band in the history of bands.

You can't deny their talent and ability in composing a great song, catchy and yet heavy. They are one of the if not the best rock band out today.

First comment!

We all have a debt to the Japanese music scene that we Westerners can never repay!
