The website is free to setup on canva but I believe you still have to link your online store to it which defeats the purpose. I been trying to figure it out to and that's my conclusion. They had me believe that you can setup an actual online store with it so that customers can use that website vs Etsy or other e-commerce. Customers will still be using the online store when they click on the product to purchase. I kinda get the idea though but it would be good to buy & purchase from your canva website vs e-commerce because you still have to pay the e-commerce for hosting your products including fees ...

Sorry but i dont understand how this is different to just hosting the store on shopify then as they host is, you pay only for one thing (instead of canva pro + shopify) or did i miss the point? genuinely trying to understand the difference here, except that canva allows you free range for design , while shopify and other web hosting sites have a slight limit to it in comparison to canva on the design part of it. Please explain why this would be a better option than just hosting on shopify or any other e-commerce platform?
This is better for beginners because you don’t pay monthly fees. It’s easy to customize as well and it’s almost for free because most people have Canva Pro already. So paying just $9/yr as against paying over $50 monthly is much better.
