Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful video on NRM2 Take-Off & BQ production! 🙏 As a student in Quantity Surveying, clear explanations like these are absolute gold. Your breakdown of the process was spot-on and really clarified some key concepts for me. Can't wait to see more content from you in the future - your videos are a fantastic resource for students like myself trying to deepen our understanding of the field. Keep up the great work! Best Ever!
Great video, many thanks! It's great the way you bring it all back to referencing the NRM2. Some NRM1 videos would be absolutely amazing, with a focus on writing descriptions as well. :)
Geoff, this is incredibly value information. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. You are a natural on camera and provide great commentary.
Geoff, these videos are great for everone new and old to the construction industry. It would be fantastic if you could show drainage and roads take off, and how these take-offs then form the BOQ. Very impressed by the level of quality and information in your videos.
Thanks for your very kind comments Iain. I will be preparing a tutorial on drainage take-off and I also am considering tutorials on the Method of Measurement for Highway Works as well if I sense there is a demand.
The measurement away is to use the footprint. The important thing to bear in mind is that the way we measure is not the same as the way we construct. Our method of measurements are sets of rules as to how to, ultimately, price/estimate the cost and for all the tenderers to accept this rules and so eliminate any ambiguity. In practice, on the site, the estimators know that the actual area of topsoil will in most cases be greater than the measure one and as such will adjust there rate(s) to reflect the difference. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Is disposal of excavated measured as an item without quantities, cos the excavated trench will be filled with blockwork and the remaining backfilled and excess taken off site😊
Yes; under NRM2 Disposal, (5.9.1&2) is measured as an 'Item' as you say but... to calculate the amount of Filling obtained from excavated material, m3, (5.11.2) and Imported Filling, m3, (5.12.1,2 or3), the arithmatic of volume of excavation less the volume of the structure in the excavation is still maintained.
@ no problem Geoff. I'll be tuning in whenever it drops 🫱🏽🫲🏽 Have you ever considered private tuition? This is something I'd be very interested in. I work for a main contractor in Bham but I have limited experience in taking off but this is a skill I'm desperate to learn.
Thanks for your kind comments, very much appreciated. I will be doing many more videos so keep watching. Geoff

what a wonderful explanation .understood everything clearly. God bless you .please make a video on how to prepare a BOQ using ANZSMM. Thank you !
Absolutely Amazing,🔥
wow thank you for breaking it down so clearly.
Great video
Do you not tend to excavate the topsoil across the site as opposed to the footprint of the building only?

what Quantity Surveying Software do you use sir ?
@@as2130 Revit and Navisworks to do quantities and timeline animation. There are others of course and probably equally as good.

does revit has NRM 1,NRM2 CESSM etc ?
