    Took 3 hours and a trip to Harbor Freight and I now have flowing drains. The main going to the street was clogged with root hairs from the magnolia tree. Nobody ever says to themselves I can't wait to go home and play with my new sewer auger but when raw sewage is backing up in the bathtub they're your best friends. Already paid for itself as opposed to calling a plumber to snake the line.👍

    I don’t have ANY experience with home improvement, however we literally had an issue where the bathtub was clogged. I bought some draino thinking it was a standard hair clog. Nope, then we started noticing the water rising so I went and got a quick manual snake, nope didn’t fix the problem. So finally after a few days of this issue the landlord was able to get a plumber and he fixed it real quickly, didn’t even have to come into the house. I was so curious to know how he fixed it that I came here, but it was bad like I had to shower at the gym before going to work while the bathtub would fill up every time we used the kitchen sink. There was even a bit of excrement flowing up, I’m just grateful to be able to take a shower in our home, this really made me appreciate the amenities that we have in our modern world today. 😮‍💨

    Periodically I get this issue when we use the washing machine . For the most part it drains properly but at other times water will start to come up in the bathtub and at the base of toilet. I have to clear the issue at the clean out access outside. I have to plunge out the “ air pocket” . I have snaked the pipes , used main line cleaner and root kill . I have even used the drain snake to check my vent pipes on the roof. I still get this problem at least once a month.

    That's happening to me now. BTW, my garage needs 11' of framing replaced at the door opening due to termite damage and it involves the top plate. I've yet to see a video that shows how to replace a damaged top plate and how splice in the new. The entire rough opening around the garage door needs to be replaced, about all that can be salvaged is the sill plate which is pressure treated by code because it is directly on concrete. If I attempt myself without a building permit the front of the garage facing the street will be opened up for 5 days and code enforcement likely to ask questions on a routine drive-by. The permit application asks for a contractor license and I don't think me studying TH-cam videos will qualify so I may need to hire a contractor. Looking at $5K.

Would it be advisable to do another drain cleaner, but from the the kitchen sink. If, yes, would I want to do this after letting the water fill up the tub a bit or with a dry pipe? I had this type of problem after my husband died and he was a homebuilder and I in my stupidity had the county come out and they said it was not their problem because my house is on a hill and anything away from the curb is mine and some plumbers came out and said it was the entire pipeline and they had to replace that Which I did and now approximately 12 years later, I’m running into a similar problem but this time it’s only when I use the washing machine and then I get the back up in two toilets, and the bathtub that I had before last time there was sewage this time it’s just dirt water and I can see some hair but I don’t know what type of hair it is so I don’t know if it’s the washing machine and can you put Drano in a washing machine, I mean it does drain, but it backs up somewhere I don’t wanna be taken in again

    • @Kloops
      @Kloops 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joylondon9005 I am so sorry that’s happening. I was told to get rock salt like for ice cream machines and flush in my toilet once a week about half a cup maybe? Because that hair might be thin roots. And salt kills roots.
      I saw what i thought was hair but it was roots.
      Good luck. I am so sorry.

      Thank you so much for responding, but in all honesty I don’t know what to do. I’ve used a full huge bottle of Drano doesn’t work at all. I pulled out some hair from the lever area of the bathtub. I don’t know if it’s hair hair or root hair and now a toilet in the 1/2bathroom will not drain. It keeps on moving around somehow, but it always gets started by the washing machine that’s twice now first time I could clear it out now I can’t and it always happens when it’s very rainy if that has anything to do with it? I could see if I was on a floodplain area but I’m up on a hill??

    I live in a high rise-my tub is back to back with my neighbor’s. For the past few months every time she takes a bath and drains her tub, a small amount of water comes up into my tub thru my tub drain. Plumber says it’s because the pipes between our apts. have settled at an angle. Would be a major fix involving cutting through my downstairs neighbor’s ceiling.
