Each iteration of Yun Tal is making me more and more confused what they even want this item to be used for. They could have solved literally all of the issues the item had by just increasing the AD scaling of the bleed by a fairly large amount, and making the bleed non-stacking (like a Liandry burn on AA). That'd have given the item a clear identity and it'd have been a solid choice for long-range RFC abuser ADC-s like Cait, Jhin, Jinx, or Senna. Instead of that, they turned the bleed into a flat, non-scaling number? A flat, non-scaling stat which is locked behind stacking crit chance?? And then they also claimed that the item was meant to be rushed??? Nothing about this version of the item made ANY sense. And now they're completely reworking the item, removing the bleed passive which was the only reason for it to even be added to the game, and turning it into a first item stat stick.... an item type which they clearly acknowledged was a mistake last time ADC items got reworked......... What are they even doing.
No, increasing the AD scaling would not have solve the issues at all. The problem with YunTal is that it directly competes with IE for "more damage with crit" meaning the item that gives you more damage will just get bought more, with no reason to go for the other. Furthermore, YunTal is in a bad spot there already, as burst is always better than DOT. Besides, they wanted to take power out of item passives and actives, which is why they would never buff it. So, the old version was pretty much stuck in a bad spot. The second iteration, I agree was bad. This one now could work as it's not just a stat stick but also offers you a scaling option into the late game and thus might be interesting for late game crit ADCs. That being said, I again agree with you that it's weird to give the scaling item a non-scaling AS steroid that seems suited for early game fights.
As an Aphelios main, I bought this basically just to get the 100% crit, if I didn't need to get hurricane. Taking away the crit makes me build hurricane every single game now since there's literally no better option..
They want to give crit items a good rush option. IE was nerfed to take it out of that spot and Yun Tal didn't occupy it because it sucked. Now it might.
New shiv gonna have good synergy with champs with fast 3 hit autos too. Not sure if it solves the problem of adcs just shoving waves for free instantly and never interacting with enemies the moment they buy it, but hey, it's something.
indirect Jhin nerf lol. It's purpose is to clear waves so the interaction is still similar, but now you can't both clear waves AND poke at the same time because of the 5-target limit. 255 dmg to 5 minions over 3 attacks instead of 240 dmg to 6 minions over 3s means ADCs with some AOE will clear a bit faster. For example Vayne would struggle more to clear waves because she can only last hit 1-by-1 which leaves the other minions at low health.
An ADC's job isn't to interact with enemies. Generally, someone else on the team needs to make something happen for them to capitalize on and then they can interact, otherwise they are in a neutral state shoving waves until then. So the problem isn't so much statik but just the nature of their role.
What i dont understand is .. why they not just make statikk a crit item again how it used to be. Make the dmg of it scale with crit and make it also crit-able damage so its, as it was intened, a waveclear item for crit-champs. Now we geht 4th change to it which again wont work.
Because then it's only available for charachters that build crit and those that don't will have a huge waveclear disadvantage. That's the entire reason they changed stattik shiv.

@@Kikkia2018 crit adcs arent the only ADCs tho? lethality builds (though admittedly weaker than crit right now) and on-hit (rageblade, terminus, kraken, etc) both exist too. theres even "caster" adc builds like manamune trinity on smolder and ezreal. this current statikk is decent for those on hit builds since those usually have the worst waveclear, most crit adcs have some sort of aoe (jinx, sivir, cait, etc) while on-hit adcs like vayne clear much slower.
I think more attack speed items need the New Yun Tal stacking passive, and a thicc buff on their starting stats (they - phantom dancer, rapidfirecannon, runaan's - are too weak atm).

Trynd needs early game sustain to be able to handle most of his laning phases due to how easy it is just to out-trade him pre-6 as long as you don't stand in his melee or give him free openings.

I'm honestly getting tired of riot removing niche items, they are good on specific champions and for specific needs for that game. It feels like the items are just becoming more linear but what do I know I don't play that often anymore.

Yun Tal is just so strange. They keep changing it to be completely different every time. This change actually makes zero sense to me, since that is just 125 autos to get it fully stacked. That will take little to no time to stack in game for any ADC that builds it. If the item isn't landing well over and over and over again, just remove it at this rate. It used to be pretty good for champs with high AD or super high attack speed, such as Jhin or Bel'Veth. Now I don't see it favorited for ANY champion Ive played that builds crit since the first major change it had.

Sure about that? They knocked 200 gold off the price and you don't need to kill something to get the zap, while takedowns let you get more zaps. You technically do more damage with the new proc too, 180 spread between 3 procs vs. 120 on a single. You don't get the repeat zaps when killing minions, but in ARAM minions don't live long for it to be that impactful.

Can they stop shuffling around what fucking items give crit, attack speed and ad? I don't play too much adc and every time I play it once every couple months its fucking changed and shuffled around.
what's the point of the on attack crit passive on new yun tal? why not just give it the normal 25% crit rate? genuine question
So it is not too OP when you rush it. Crit+AD+AS is a premium combination of stats that are not meant to exist together nowadays as stated by Riot.
Old LT + old PD = new LT + Yun tal ?
