Just keep practicing everyday. Buy a cheap eyeliner whatever gel, pencil, or liquid and practice with that. If you do it so often you will be good at it. I now even know how to do it with my left hand and only four months ago I couldn't do my eyeliner for shit.
omg so relatable, no matter how much videos i watch and try out, i always mess it up and need to remove it over 100 times :( i always need 1-2 hours to get it okay looking and even then it looks weird so i have to cover the uneven wing with my hair
A lot of these tips work for doing your brows too, especially the part where you work slowly and switch between both eyes. Also, if you really want your eyeliner to stay all day, I recommend using an eyelid primer first, doing your liner like you would, and then dusting over it with a translucent powder. This also helps speed up the drying time too.
argella1300 A MILLION THANK YOUs for your advice about setting the eyelid with a translucent powder, it's a game changer for me and totally worked! I have extremely oily eyelids and even after using an eyelid primer I still can get some slickness (except when I use Urban Decay's eyelid primer, that's stuff is magic in a tube!). However today when I used the Two Faced Shadow Insurance eyelid primer (per the recommendation of a Sephora employee when I asked her, "Is this better than Urban Decay?" and her reply was, "Yes!") then set it with Maybelline's Master Fix setting powder, my eyelids and winged liner stayed put the entire day & night!! I couldn't believe it but was so glad to see no more shine!! Thanks for this AMAZING advice! This is why I love reading the comment section on TH-cam or reviews in general, for you can get a lot of great tips & tricks from helpful, nice and smart people....such as yourself! 😊
I needed this! I have folds/crease lines on my eyelids so I always struggled putting eyeliner on without getting it on the creases. When I first started I definitely found using those gel eyeliners that come in the little pot easier to apply. Then I would sometimes go over it with a liquid eyeliner. Much love xx

I have the same problem. Get a card and put it On your lashes and just close your eye and use your other eye to see where your applying the liner (: ✨. I hope you understood me :/
Same, what I used to do is get my eyelash curler and curl then down so they are out of the way but I only did this if I was using a regular eyeliner brush or a liquid eyeliner. For gel eyeliners I usually use an angled brush and it helps out (:

lmao I can't freehand for my life but now I use masking tape and it works really well. My problem is it never looks even because my eyes are not symmetrical haha struggles
I was really struggling with winged liner till I got the Jesse's Girl liquid liner pen. It's a very fine brush instead of felt tip so tugs way less. I also think a little bit of uneven application isn't noticeable to people because they just aren't gonna come as close as we look at ourselves in the mirror :)
Castiel but I usually find that felt tip liners don't come on with a matte finish and are shinier if you don't mind the shiny look then go for felt! :) if you've found a felt liner that's as matte as liquid liner, tell me!
I sucked so bad and I have hooded lids but I started practicing every night and have gotten so much better. I have to use a gel liner because it gives me more control and then I sharpen it up a little with a felt tip liquid liner sometimes after.

I suck at it and I usually just use a pinkish kind of eyeshadow or something different from whatever shadow Im wearing that's not like really harsh or dark and use a small brush to put it where i want my liner. When it looks right I cover it all with the eyeliner very carefully. By doing it that way I don't end up with eyeshadows plastered all over the wing.

You can also use a spoon, you just use the end of it to do a straight line for the wing, and use the round part to do the curved part of the wing. Another one is more of a freehand style and I found that it works easier than a spoon, a you just put a dot in the beginning of your eye (I don't know what its called) and then put another dot on the start of the pupil, then in the middle of the pupil, then at the end of the pupil, and at the end of your eye. Then where the crease starts, draw a line, and there's your wing. Trace all of the dots and fill them in, and now you have a sorta perfect winged eyeliner (sorry if I didn't explain very well)

Tati has done videos on the eyeliner stencils from Beth Bender Beauty as well the new Vamp Stamp. The Vamp Stamp looks so much easier, and also appears to give better results... but I have not tried either one yet :)
Bless this video. I've used pencil liners all my days of makeuping, but my wings were just not sharp enough with my pencils, and no matter what I did, my pencil liners would always smudge, regardless of brands, techniques, primers, or setting makeups. I finally caved to a felt-tip liner last week, and I've been AWFUL at it. I blink entirely too much, my wings are mismatched, my hand is still shaky, and I feel like they never come out right. I cannot WAIT to try some of these new tips and tricks to help me learn to achieve a SHARP wing.
Anrei the one I use is the maybelline master duo it is very easy to use once you've figured it out and it's a different shape tip so it's hard to find tutorials on how to use that kind of tip
I use one from Kat Von D and it's very helpful. Go to Sephora. They have the smaller less expensive felt tip liners. Also, I think Ulta has the smaller sizes so you don't have to commit if you don't like it

Tati has done videos on the eyeliner stencils from Beth Bender Beauty as well the new Vamp Stamp. The Vamp Stamp looks so much easier, and also appears to give better results... but I have not tried either one yet :)

Bless this video. I've used pencil liners all my days of makeuping, but my wings were just not sharp enough with my pencils, and no matter what I did, my pencil liners would always smudge, regardless of brands, techniques, primers, or setting makeups.
I finally caved to a felt-tip liner last week, and I've been AWFUL at it. I blink entirely too much, my wings are mismatched, my hand is still shaky, and I feel like they never come out right. I cannot WAIT to try some of these new tips and tricks to help me learn to achieve a SHARP wing.

it's Wednesday my dudes maybelline master precise liner is the best one i've used
Anrei the one I use is the maybelline master duo it is very easy to use once you've figured it out and it's a different shape tip so it's hard to find tutorials on how to use that kind of tip
I use one from Kat Von D and it's very helpful. Go to Sephora. They have the smaller less expensive felt tip liners. Also, I think Ulta has the smaller sizes so you don't have to commit if you don't like it
