Justin I am 64 and visited Disneyland when I was 18. It looks like I won’t get back. So seeing all these things brought back many memories for me thank you!
Love how Justin relates sizes to Ally, but didn't know my son paid attention. We were in the store yesterday and my son said " Look Mom, that pumpkin is 2 Ally's tall.
After watching this yesterday...me and my 3 kids hopped in the car from Las Vegas this morning. Driving down I was worried the 4 hour drive wouldn't be worth it...it totally was!!! I got amazing pics with my kids!
I loved this exhibit so much. I used to shop at the Sports Authority that it used to be. My brother's doctor is in the building across the street. It's so weird when one of the things you really love comes to you. I get to go to Disneyland once, maybe twice a year. As soon as I heard about this exhibit, I HAD to come down. I would have spent all month in there if I could. And the best thing is that it really got me in the mood to go to Disneyland, which is where I'm going tomorrow! It even got my BROTHER excited to go because usually he doesn't really care about Disneyland. I love Disneyland and I love its history. Sometimes I wish that it WAS built in Burbank so that I could have gone and go more often. At least for this month, I got to go to Disneyland, even in mini museum form. If only I could afford to bid on anything in the auction. Even the smallest thing would make me happy. I wish, though, that it wasn't an auction and that it was a permanent museum. I would be there all the time if that was the case.
Ohhh, Justin (and the lovely Ally) - THANK YOU for the bittersweet look back! So many memories. Like you, I really miss Big Thunder Ranch (great BBQ) the Tiki Room, the tuna boat, and especially the People Mover! It was the perfect venue in which to sit, take a leisurely ride around Tomorrowland, enjoy some air conditioning and a few unique attractions. Sad to see those unique works being split up and scattered to the four corners of the earth, but better than ending up in a rubbish heap. Again, thanks!
Thank you for going thru this exhibit! Oh my goodness! Brings back so many memories....I've been in so many of these vehicles thru the yrs too...and going thru all the items available to buy, I found 2 that I have! Wow!! So wish we lived closer so we could go to this too. I wish I had the $$ to buy something!!! OMG!!
My 1rst and only trip to Disneyworld was back in February of 2001. Sadly, they had already converted the subs into Ariel's Grotto by that time, and my late father and I were very disappointed we would never get to ride the attraction we had heard so much about. But you gave me a chance to see what I missed. Thanks!
Hey Justin...I've been viewing your videos for aprox 3 months now. You provide a great video entertainment experience with the added educational factor that makes your work "funtastic" I hope you and the precious Ally and London are all well and enjoying life!! Your Land of Random videos are the best!!
I actually have all the Van Eaton Gallery catalogs for the Disney auctions. There's a lot of great stuff in them. Since the prices are out of my league, the catalog is a great way to have a document of them since it's about what I can afford. Really great video, Justin. Thanks for uploading this. It sparks a lot of great memories of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World for me.
I was there the same day. At one point Richard Kraft wheeled an ice chest down the line, handing out free sodas and Gatorade. I thought that was pretty cool of him, it was hot out there!
When I saw the parking signs I got some tears. I remember going on trips and staying in hotels across the street and would walk through the lot. No DCA yet. 😢 Memories
Thank you sooo much. U touched on all my childhood favorites. 💕💕💕 These r the times when the "sweaty eyes" r OK!😅😊 ME & MY GRAMA'S FAVE...COUNTRY BEAR JAMBOREE ..."WHY DONT U COME UP & SEE ME SOMETIME" 😂.... "💜it"
Always had to go on the Bertha May. I had an Aunt Bertha. Adventure through inner space was also a must. You did miss a truly awesome ride. Sorry Justin.....Great Vlog, thumbs up.
Justin this was EPIC!!! I had to watch it twice! So many memories of my childhood visiting both parks! It made my eyes "sweaty with respect" and I got choked up at seeing some of the awesome things! Thank you for this! It meant so much!!! You're awesome always buddy! Thanks for all you do!!! 😀😀😀👍👍👍
What a great vid, thank you from us who cannot get there in person. I would need days just to walk through. This was wonderful and brought back a thousand memories.
Justin you are awesome you are my favorite TH-camr you are my idol like making me laugh and telling me all about Disney I didn’t know before so I just wanted to say thank you
Thank you for this video. I drove over there today but the line was around the building and it was 90+ degrees out so I decided to go home (spent the day in the sun at Universal yesterday). May try to catch it after work Weds or Thurs but this video was a nice way to still see the exhibit.
I remember seeing a lot of those items on eBay years ago, including the Candy Palace sign, the Space Place sign, and the Swiss Family organ. I wondered what had happened to them. The Bertha Mae was also on eBay around that time. I decided not to put a bid on any of them because I had no means to take care of them properly.
So yours was not the first video I watched of this limited event and auction, BUT, yours was the first to show the auction catalog, which I promptly just jumped over to the Van Eaton Galleries website to order for $40. So now it's your fault I spent money on precious Disneyland memories! Thanks alot!
Hello Justin! Oh my is that Ally? Hi Ally the beautiful! The exhibit is so nostalgic. Wonderful for old folks but kind of slow for the youngins. I hope Bob is doing well also. I have never been to Disneyland, Thanks for taking me thru TH-cam.
THE BEST VLOG EVER! This is an amazing look at my childhood through Disneyland....I went to Adventure through Inner Space so many times... ... plus I have been in trouble A LOT...for "swinging the cabin" throwing popcorn out and for other "rule breaking" activities (allegedly) ...your SO funny...Lol I need to know if there are any "Wally Bow" Show items from the old "Golden Horseshoe Revue"? ~ I'm VERY Sure I actually rode in that Matterhorn Bobsled and I gladly cuddled with my boyfriend there. I NEED that Matterhorn Poster!! (I used to watch Cecil~ the UNDisney Sea Serpent~ everyday on TV at Noon) ..I'm so amazed by this display...I'm in awe!! No info on the old Polynesian Room? ( That was a great place to eat with the Fire Show) buy the way I have seen and ridden on the Bertha Mae... yes I'm OLD...lol TY Justin, ...Ally and you are my very favs....
Cool seeing you there. Can't believe I watched all 40 minutes after having just been there but I was mesmerized as well. I would love to have a few of those pieces.
Wow. I would have loved to have seen this but its a bit pricey to travel to California from England. Thank you so much for sharing brought back many happy memories of family holidays with people who aren’t here any more
This is exactly why Disney needs to make a museum when their retired stuff. So everyone can host down memory lane. People would pay to get into a museum like that.
Very cool exhibit! The Star Jet isn't modeled after the Space Shuttle. It's modeled from the Bell X plane, like the one the test pilots flew that dropped from the belly of a plane.
I'm very glad that you were able to get back to California from the family vacation in Disneyworld in Florida and document this important event in the history of Disneyland (the original). I'm sure that I wasn't the only person who sent you the information of this free exhibit but the one question for you is...will you bid on something? I would LOVE to see you get the big D from the original hotel sign. Good luck and thank you for the tour!!! Keep making ALL of your videos.
Recently I saw a picture of someone who bought the grave sitter stretching portrait. They're so big! I never realized how big they are when they're way up high on the walls.
Justin this is mind blowing I am speechless. Also heartbroken that I never got to experience people mover in Disneyland (my first trip was in 2002 at age 15). This was after they closed it
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️sending love to you and Ally . Thank you I enjoy watching the video’s . Peter Pan look like the rescue rangers ship. 😭😭😭a lot of memories from me growing up . I am so old now lol. I was 10 years old in 1990
I never thought I’d see Winnie the Pooh pile driving on Lotso Bear in the Matterhorn bobsled. 25:33. Either way. I love this video from Justin, thanks man.
Fun fact: some of the posters from Frontierland are actually on the Disneyland railroad in the transition tunnel from Frontierland to toon town. There a little hard to see but there still there. Perhaps Disney put it there for nostalgia or an Easter egg, you decide.
Theresa Witt haha aww that’s cute!
I couldn't imagine parting ways with such an awesome collection
Can we just take a moment to appreciate all the awesome hand lettering on so many of these artifacts? Astounding.
10:46 Those in favor of bringing back the original Disneyland Peoplemover say I!!!!!
So Awesome meeting you at the exhibit Justin! You and Ali are "Mega Cool"!
After watching this yesterday...me and my 3 kids hopped in the car from Las Vegas this morning. Driving down I was worried the 4 hour drive wouldn't be worth it...it totally was!!! I got amazing pics with my kids!
Love the old peoplemovers! They remind me of 50’s Chevys a little. I wish they would bring them back.
33:36: I used to love the America The Beautiful attraction. I never went to Disneyland in my youth without attending this one.
I loved this exhibit so much. I used to shop at the Sports Authority that it used to be. My brother's doctor is in the building across the street. Has Justin ever done voice over work? All the voices he does are pretty good actually.
Ohhh, Justin (and the lovely Ally) - THANK YOU for the bittersweet look back! So many memories.

Sad to see those unique works being split up and scattered to the four corners of the earth, but better than ending up in a rubbish heap. Again, thanks!
That all belongs in a museum.
At 2:03 Justin got a shot of Richard Kraft coming into the exhibit. I wish he could have asked him some questions about some of the pieces.
Thank you for going thru this exhibit! Oh my goodness! I got super teary eyed when you showed the Big Thunder Ranch sign. That area of the park was such a big part of my childhood.
There's Richard Kraft right there at 2:02 ! All this stuff needs to be in a museum!
I was there the same day. At one point Richard Kraft wheeled an ice chest down the line, handing out free sodas and Gatorade. I thought that was pretty cool of him, it was hot out there!
OK Indy. lol.
When I saw the parking signs I got some tears. I remember going on trips and staying in hotels across the street and would walk through the lot. No DCA yet.

I’m a kid I’ve never been to Disneyland only Walt Disney World but I agree that nothing can replace the Submarine Voyage! A truly amazing attraction!
Thanks for sharing this exhibit with us! Sad we won’t be in California to see it. You are right, this stuff should be in a museum to enjoy!

As a graphic designer, all the park posters, signage and illustrations have always made my heart beat faster!

1 guy. Love to know his background. Love to know the total valuation of all items there
I remember seeing a lot of those items on eBay years ago, including the Candy Palace sign, the Space Place sign, and the Swiss Family organ. I wondered what had happened to them.
