~~~ WOW !!! Sounds like a beautiful beer. A proper well made stout with simple ingredients and barrel magic giving it complexity. Count me in. Great review. CHEERS !!!
I love when BBA Imperial Stouts without adjuncts just hit properly ... and this one totally hit! So many crazy flavors. A bit disjointed, but didn't affect the experience all that much. Thanks, Gregory! Cheers, buddy!
Me too, man! Some very good ones come out in the Fall and Winter, so I think you're set, haha! This was awesome, and New Park brews some fantastic beer. Thanks, Chris! Cheers, buddy!
Great review, sir! Love that note on tiramisu vibes, think you’re spot on there. For a pretty straight ahead BBA imp stout, it’s definitely got some elegant complexity this one, even if imperfect/disjointed. I don’t fully understand the review avgs either on this bad boy, I think it’s a hitter and feel like you nailed it. Some of the variants have been unreal as well, esp the Hawaiian and the Hazel. Preshatchu bruh! I’ll have to get some more CT suds your way sooner than layta! Cheerz
Thanks, Rick! Not only for the beer, but the constant support, and just being a good dude. That box you sent me was wild in the best way possible. I thoroughly enjoyed trying everything you sent, and there were way too many bangers to count. Like you said, don't get why people frown upon this one, but maybe it's the thinner body? It's about the only thing I could think would be a detriment to some folks. Regardless, it was a pleasure running through that box. So much fun! Thanks again, brohan! Cheers, buddy!
Finally found your channel and what a beer to start with. This sounds heavenly. I love how these imperial stouts take on so many subtleties. Very jealous haha. Great review sir. Cheers!
That's what I'm talking about, Dave! On a personal note, it warms my heart to see you reviewing again, brother. You're one of the early BeerTubers that I loved watching. I remember finding your channel back in 2012, and then binge-watched so many reviews. I hope you're doing better, dude. Awesome you found my channel, too! This was definitely a lush beer, haha! Cheers, sir!
@@averagejoe716I've gotten over the stroke and am now eating healthier. But I had to start reviewing again as I missed the banter with guys such as yourself and also the amazing new stuff available these days. You're a diamond mate and I really appreciate the kind words.
Nothing has warmed my heart than to hear you're doing so well, buddy! I miss the old BeerTubing community with so many folks having retired from posting videos, but the community is still going strong, which is awesome to see! Can't wait to watch more reviews from you, good sir!
Big fan of double mashes, it's great fun using that much grain, once did a triple mash, do not recommend X-D. I find the second year of barrel aging really hits the body of the beer, would rather keep Barrel aging to a year personally, though I know people can find the barrel too subtle at that point. 4.1 is low for a BA beer but having seen the reviews I think some of the lower reviews are from people who prefer other variants.
Yeah, double mashed beers are fun, and the long boil really helps that body. I've had a few crazy long boiled beers with just a sensational body. I think you're right about the longer barrel aging time = less of a body. I've always noticed thinner bodies in BA beers, which makes sense why this one was thin. I think the body is probably an issue for some folks who scored this lower, but the other variants might've made a bigger impression. Not sure, but I loved it! Cheers, Christopher!
