  • On Friday, March 29th 2024, Beyoncé dropped 'COWBOY CARTER', the second installment in her trilogy project. This album boasts familiar features from the country genre, and blends it with hip-hop, pop, r&b, & much more. While it served as a surprise to no one that the album was dropping when it did, the lead up to it left listeners wondering just how country this album would be. Listeners learned very quickly, even from Beyoncé herself, that expectations need be left at the door when entering this experience.

I mean. I can respect opinions country isn’t for everyone definitely not me. But 💀 giving the album a 6.5 and comparing American requiem to some Disney shit is undoubtedly disrespectful 💀 you gotta look at the work as more then if “ I like this song” “ I don’t like this genre” a 6.5 album is borderline OK and this album was nothing close to that. Also let me add. Beyonce said making the same thing is boring to her since the album self titled she has never stayed in the pocket of genres. Lemonade had many. The gift is afrobeats renaissance is dance/house CC is country. 9/10 next one is rock this is a journey. But like I said I respect opinions not everything can be like I just think the level of work the vocal the writing and of those things should be put into a rating

Beyonce's album are not for lazy listeners. There's so much context and history behind her albums. She straight up said that "this isn't a country album". You guys (obviously) don't have the range to go into it and that's ok. Thanks for trying.
