Would you drive a plug-in hybrid, or would you rather have a traditional hybrid, an all-electric, or all-gasoline? Thanks for watching and Subscribing! Jeff

I’m loving mine. My car color is Zircon Metallic - inside is the same you are reviewing. My only wish is that the lithium battery had a range of 50 miles instead of 26.

    Great station wagon

Call it whatever you like but it looks great, provides a higher ride height many prefer, and has 8” of ground clearance when needed in a pinch. Most station wagons can’t offer these benefits.

Love it. Don't need 3rd row but room for camping gears, so this is perfect.

Mazda ould have made this a Gas/ Electric Hybrid , not a PHEV. I would opt for the Premium Plus Turbo S model ! I do have one question: If the electric battery was NOT charged up, does the PHEV CX-70's base engine w/o electric motor boost deliver the same HP/Torque of the Standard Straight Six? How can the MPG -e go up to 56 MPG? If the Electric Motor runs for up to 25 miles (Be warned - read the posts on the Mazda Forum, that varies wildly by users) and then once the battery is exhausted, the gas engine delivers 25 MPGs. That calculation must have been done on a short trip. Unless I'm missing something ?

I am getting 42.3 mpg on mine mine, not counting cost of plugging in every night. 25 mpg is worst case scenario. This car can function as a hybrid as well for longer trips, and you have a “hold charge” mode. So doing good choices about when you use that electric range and when you operate as hybrid you can easily exceed 25 mpg. If you have no at home charging means (120 V plug is enough for overnight charging), or garage - PHEV makes much less sense. Public charging is expensive. At home charging is cheaper.

The inline 6 is a mild hybrid and I’m getting 27+ mpg. And I’m not “gentle” with acceleration.

We are averaging 41 mph combined, impressive for a vehicle this size, if most of your local trips are less than 26 miles you can get significantly better combined mileage.
