Might be fun but it ain't no fact. Sharon den Adel is self taught and has never had singing lessons, she has consistently said that throughout her career but it seems some still believe third hand rubbish they read on the internet.
@@TheMindofBruce Sharon den Adel is self taught and has never had singing lessons. Anyone who really follows her and Within Tempation know that anyway but I thought I would correct the other comment.
Glad you got to this band. They are Dutch, band formed in 1996 by lead singer Sharon den Adel and her partner ,guitarist Robert Westerholt. 7 albums and several EP's to date. Album #8 is due out Oct 20. Sharon is mostly self taught, and uses her degree in fashion design to make most of her stage outfits. Based in symphonic metal, but they move around in styles often. Their 2008 Black Symphony concert (with Metropole Orchestra) is awesome. Check out "Our Solemn Hour" and my favorite "Ice Queen" from there. Their newest single, released last month, is the title track of the upcoming album, Bleed Out. They have done a lot of collaborations too, Paradise (What about Us) feat Tarja Turunen (solo, ex -Nightwish), and The Reckoning with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) among them.
That’s dope all the collabs. I’m for sure going to do more. My buddy has tickets to papa roach and shine down next weekend im going to go with him. Talk about throwbacks!
@@TheMindofBruce I was at a Papa Roach/Union Underground concert like 15-20 years ago (free tickets) at Red Rocks. The Union Underground drummer was so wasted they had to stop their set halfway through, then Papa Roach was also super late coming onto the stage. There was about 90 minutes of nothing happening on stage, so everybody in the whole venue started raining plastic water bottles on stage. This went on so long that I began to wonder whether people were handing bottles from the front of the stage up to the back rows so that people could throw more. Either that or people were hitting the concessions stand just to buy more bottles to throw. Never seen anything like it. They had local radio station hosts go onto the stage and beg people to stop. They threatened to end the show after about 20 solid minutes of bottles hitting the stage and everybody settled down enough. Then another eternity later Papa Roach finally did an aggressively mediocre set and it took an hour and a half to get home.
Two worlds meet in space. World A: "Hey, how are you?" World B: "Ugh, not so well... I've got homo sapiens..." World A: "Ah, sorry to hear that. But don't worry, it'll pass." 😅
Dude, awesome that you found WT! They are awesome. Like nightwish, their live shows and performances sremuch better then studio records. I like the old stuff mich better. You should check the Black Symphony concert in 2008. Its with the full Metropole Orchestra and a full choir. Awesome all around. Cant wait. Keep it up.
I’ll definitely throw that up on one of my “I’ve heard it” days. So 6 days a week I post first time reactions and recently am doing 1 day a week of music that I love. Wrong side of heaven will be on one of those days! 🤘🤘🤘
If I remember correctly, the video doesn’t have a full so, they had to cut a bit of amazing instrumental arrangement for whatever reason which sucks. But this song, even after all these years remains one of the fan base favourites. It’s amazing and I highly recommend listening to the full version. Also, the real power of this songs can only be heard when they’re live. They’re an amazing live bands and their songs really shine live.
This version is the actually the radio edit of the song, I have it on CD. It's usually standard practice to use the radio edit for the music video, especially when singles were still released on CD and 7 Inch, it's still done today sometimes too.
Oh, i always thought i know them also from the late 90s like Nightwish, but this was the first album i know from them and its from 2000. So the same like Edenbridge where "Sunrise in Eden" was also from 2000.
@@TheMindofBruce Besides people mostly prefer live stuff (Black Symphony is great), they also made somre really nice videos like : "Frozen" (so good), "Angels", "What about us ft.Tarja", "And we run ft. XZibit" Frozen especially the story that the video tells is just so damn deep and good.
I just found you! So you like Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation as I do - maybe you like Symphonic Metal with Pirate theme? Then go check out Visions of Atlantis - "Master the Hurricane" or "Legion of the seas"! Another great symphonic metal band is Xandria - "Two worlds"! You won't regret!
Glad you found me! Welcome to the Hope Squad!! I added those bands to the list, it's a huge list so I will eventually get to it :) Feel free to join the discord, trying to get people in there, much easier to put links to videos lol.
Because you obviously are into Lyrics and not "just" the music: A similar topic is covered by Nightwish in "Procession". But it is more symphonic than metal.
Within Temptation is a real 'live band' and one of the earliest symphonic metal bands that have a female singer. They were formed in 1996 (basically the same time as Nightwish). But WT were actually way more symphonic metal from the start, especially compared to Nightwish, and are one of the most important founding bands of the genre as we know it today. There are so many great live concerts and live performances of WT and this song .... Why the hell did you choose a studio version and not one of their great live versions?
Couldn't agree more about human beings to be honest I would say we are parasites, poaching makes me sick my latest monthly subscription is to try and stop the pangolins being poached into extinction, partly because of the Chinese and their stupid medicines. I could go on forever Iove wildlife with a passion. Great reaction love your enthusiasm and your views😊🇬🇧
Ya that shit drives me insane. I love cats, and the shit wild animals have to go through just to survive and they are killed for pelts. Nothing pisses me off more than that. Thanks for sharing the same viewpoint :) #hopesquad

HUGE FAN. Discord is up if you want to join!
And all these Dutch metal singers are the nicest persons you could ever hope to meet. Bursting with talent and brilliant gentle souls.
Another great group that has been around for quite a while. Sharon has a lovely voice and the band is definitely worth exploring.
Ya I enjoy them! St.Peter is uploading today at 1 btw, did it for you!! :)
Sharon is the most amazing front person I’ve ever seen live. She holds your soul while singing. Lol
Much as also I love Nightwish and Epica, Sharon den Adel and Within Temptation occupy a special place in my heart.
This was my first listen. I definitely want to listen to more. So good
Fun fact, Sharon Den Adel ( Within Temptation singer) had the same singing teacher than another great (and tall) dutch singer!
Really?? That is definitely a fun fact!!
Thanks 🤘

I love Within Temptation. They did a collab with Tarja the former lead singer of NW called What About Us. It's fantastic!!
Thanks!! I’ll check it
They've done quite a few interesting collabs - the most surprising (and surprisingly good) one might still be with Xzibit, "And We Run" 😊

Check out their new song "Bleed Out". A song about a tragic real life story from the Middle East.
Ok I’ll add it!
My preferred song from this band is "The Heart of Everything".
