I remember Scott having an outburst on one of the shows over a Chef trying to approach his pass and take over. Despite all that, I'm willing to bet that he is exactly like he described Gordon Ramsay, a perfectionist but underneath all that is a genuine and caring person who would do whatever they can to help others and has hope that they'll have an influence that changes people for the better. I'm sure there's a desire to have drama on the show for the sake of ratings.

Sous Chef Scott is like Chef Ramsay, he can get intimidatingly angry and very aggressive, but also has a calm, personable and respectful side as well.
I'd say that it just takes more to wind up Scott than it does Gordon. But if you push Scott over the edge, his temper is much more explosive than Gordon's as a trade-off. I believe him when he says that he really likes to be a mentor to younger, less experienced chefs, and that's why his outbursts are far less frequent than Gordon's. That, plus it's not his reputation on the line in Hell's Kitchen. If it were Scott as the Head Chef, he'd probably be much more easily aggravated.

In S6 he was no older than 36. He was between 34 to 36. And some of the contestants on S6 were close to his age OR at his age, so right here he should be 36-37. It’s so unbelievable. Not saying he looks old, but the way he carries himself, the way he speaks/yells, etc, it just feels as though he is older. It’s so crazy to think about that! Like for example, Dave in S6 was 32 turning 33 and Scott was only 2-3 years older, and it just felt as though there was more of an age difference than just 2-3 years only! 👏🏼 He’s so great, then obviously Sous Chef James is a badass 🤘🏼 👏🏼

He was a chef for Four Seasons Hotel where i worked. Most perfectionist chef sort of like Scott. I worked with chef from Germany and French there are even scary but fun to work if you know how to work the way the do! So you won't messed up with them.

Those saying he's too violent, and too much of a screamer are far too sensitive. Saying that he should be in the military or behind bars is an ignorant statement. I have been in the military and done time in maximum security penitentiaries . I'd say 99% of you saying such ignorant things have NO IDEA what it's like in the military or in the joint. He has a different approach to motivate people to weed out the weaker so the mentally stronger can succeed. Maybe a hug and a nap is what you need.

It is neither staged nor scripted. If it were, the show would be AXED...owing to the quiz show scandals of the 50s and 60s.
In other words, you don't what's gonna happen during the challenges and dinner services, and you don't know what mistakes are gonna be made. They're not deliberately doing that, you know; they realize they're gonna be under pressure so when he calls them out for a mistake, they recover.
