The Honda CR-Z bathes in the superficiality that you mentioned (except maybe the glass roof, which raises the car's center of gravity), but it isn't sporty at all. BMW is no longer unique. Because people like you have gradually prompted BMW to forgo its cars' actual standards for some abstract idea of sportiness, Mercedes-Benz and other brands have effortlessly been able to recreate and supersede whatever luxury, speed, and "connected drive" they offer. This car is nothing more than a confused and unsightly appliance that's unworthy of the BMW badge.
I just love it! My BMW salesman sold it to me sight unseen and I'm thrilled. It's so comfortable and it maneuvers like a sports car! LOVE! It's engineered beyond my pay-grade, but I'm having a blast.

I'm a huge BMW fan but i'm not impressed with the design on this car at all. It wouldn't be a big deal if it remained the 5 series GT. But now naming it the 6 series GT is very infuriating. The 6 series is supposed to be the stylish one in the lineup. But based on the awkward design, this car does not deserve to bear the 6 series name. I certainly hope this is not a fore-gleam of what the new 6 series will look like, because it would be a disaster. The current 6 series in M-sport spec is probably the most beautiful car on the road. Don't screw it up BMW.

I understand the 5 series chassis platform is probably better to work with for a coupe rather than the 7 series platform, but in terms of family structure why not say it's based on the 7 series?
Anyway, BMW is getting a bit too bewildering with all the model restructuring. Just make it 1 through 8 with the odd numbers being sedans and even numbers being coupes that are based on the sedan directly below. And then just forget all those ridiculous GT models.

I'm actually a fan of the low-floor, high-roof, high hip-point concept (more upright seating position and better interior space utilization), but whom are you kidding with the name change? This is obviously the GT version of the 5-series.
Two things: one, this car has the nose of the 5 series so it would been better called the 5 series GT. Two, they've practically removed the hofmeister kink. Apart from the kidney grille that's what makes a BMW a BMW. This car should be repackaged.

The headlights are the same ones you can get on every BMW so good one there. They are called BMW icon adaptive LED lights. You have the basic ones with no indicator light strip and the full circles or these that cost just under £1000 then you can pay more and get laser lights. This car however is the only bmw model with the icon lights as standard, our 7 series came with the basic lights sadly
They took their best looking car (6 series) and their worst looking car (5-series gt) and stained the name of the 6-series with the horrible looks of the 5-series gt. There's nothing 6 series about this other than the badge. Stupid BMW...

But again rendered totally pointless by the much more stylish way to be even more practical: the 5er Touring. Please God this can't be replacing the 6er GranCoupe which is one of the only desirable cars BMW still make. Yet again I'm left needing to wring yet more life out of my E46, E38 and E39.
The backseat comfort / headroom / leg room alone is evident enough that it's not comparable to the G31 5er touring. Not to mention G31 ter touring isn't available in many countries.

It's a 5-door version of a 4-door version (GranCoupe) of a 2-door (Coupe) version of a 4-door version (5 Series).
The 6 series is a 2 door version of the 7 series
but it is a part of the 6 series family as the name 6 series GT suggests....

Seems like BMW is now releasing multiple versions of the same thing. Started with the 7 series. they shrinked it a bit and called it 5 series. now someone half decided on having a hatchback calls calls it a 6sGT. Everything else is the same.

I don't understand guys , that some of you don't like design of the car. This car is unique, neither Mercedes nor Audi can compete Bmw 6 Gran Turismo , it has all combined characteristics. Really great job for BMW! 👏👏👏
