As someone who volunteers, if I were a priest or Cardinal, I would be happy to get food and board and maybe a little spending money. Living to serve Christ should be the main concern of every Catholic and especially priests bishops and cardinals.
I never understood comparing religious duties to secular ones. A cardinal is not comparable to a VP at a school. A cardinal is a member of the body of Christ. In which we are to be least of all. The more devoted to the mission a member is the more we see the fruits of love. The more the church is comparable to secular structures the more people turn away
@ The Pope gave up the apostolic palace to live at Santa Marta. Rome is no different from the US and Canada. In most cases, priests don’t even get car allowance. They pay for gas, insurance, and maintenance, just to name a few that is out of pocket expenses for the ministry that they are expected to do.
@@dominikwangi7387 Now, you know why priests in the Latin Rite do not marry. Their current salary, stipend, or allowance, whatever you call it, would not be sufficient to raise a family. Even cardinals are unhappy with their paycheque!
26:00 The same could be said regarding "conservative" American bishops who believe in upholding the masonic values of the founding fathers of the United States.
Good god man, can’t you cut to the chase? On and on with minutia get to the point. Don’t you realize that you lose your readers out of exasperation as to “come on-you’re losing me” jjk
John come come now - Baudouin didnt "rule", he "reigned". As you well know, there is a substantial difference between the meanings of the two words, in spite of their superficial similarities😏
Baudoin was the head of the army and the armed services - and was active in this regard, particularly earlier in his reign. There are certainly questions to be answered here.
The murder of Lumumba was investigated in 2001 by four historians from different universities working for the Belgian parliament. The parliamentary committee concluded the king had exceeded his constitutional authority by acting without approval of the government. If the king acts without governmental approval, he rules. While the historians couldn’t find proof the king was involved in the murder, the historians agree the was forewarned and did nothing to stop it. They also concluded neither the government nor the king acted to improve his conditions after his arrest. A dissenting historian, Ludo De Witte, accused the government of being responsible for the murder.
The former king did in fact not resign so as not to have to sign the law on abortion. He was declared by politicians to be temporarily “unfit” to function in his role as the one to sign laws that were passed by parliament. The temporary lifting of the duties of the king is highly contentious as the man was in fact in his right mind, but refused to sign the new law. One may see this as a minor detail but the distinction between an act of resignation and on the other hand a temporary ousting by others seems important to me.
Does this air on a TV station somewhere or something? Why do you always say that you'll be right back and show a 2 second title screen and then come right back? 😂
Is it me but my tv goes into power saving mode when John rambles. You can probably get through all of these 3 topics in half the time without rambling on and on. And talk about other topics going on.
CHRIST said in John 5:24 KJV "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears MY WORD and believes on HIM that sent ME, has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 6:47 KJV "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believes on ME has everlasting life." If you do not know where you will go if you died right now then that means 1. You do not have everlasting life. 2. You are still condemned and have not passed from death to life.
Regarding Becciu, regarding Marogna, really I think it behooves you to move a little beyond your famously equitable "birdseye" view. To suggest vaguely that she was "apparently associated" with Cardinal Becciu when you know full well she and he were "having a thing" is being particularly Vaticanesque about it. It came out in the trial she had posted on Facebook or some such, a photo of her inside Becciu's palatial apartment, sighing happily, while looking all soft focus and diaphanous and speaking of something like achieving ultimate fulfilment and being queen of all she sees.....it is, as you well know, simply inconceivable there is any other credible interpretation they were in the midst of a torrid sexual affair. I know it's tabloid content you tend, admirably, to avoid, but sometimes things are just what they are 😏

priests don’t receive the $5500 euro a month. Priests generally are more overworked and underpaid.
The cost of living Rome is very expensive, 5,500 let’s see if Francis also lives on 5,500 per month.

Absolute power of authorisation is exercised only by consecrated marriage.

What do you think he lived on? Locusts? Wealthy donors supported Him,perhaps.

Elect an American pope (a worthy American such as Burke or DiNardo) and the money will pour in. Problem solved!
Americans being the leaders of the world has proven to be a terrible idea
