- Sworn to the Raven Queen’s service, the mysterious shadar-kai venture into the Material Plane from the Shadowfell to advance her will. Once they were fey like the rest of their elven kin, and now they exist in a strange state between life and death. Eladrin and shadar-kai are like reflections of each other: one bursting with emotion, the other nearly devoid of it.

I think they do make a good counterpart to eladrin as eladrin are extremely emotional and the opposite of that wouldn’t be maliciousness it would be apathy
They recently got a major buff to that teleport. You can do it a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. Add to that that a long rest for them is 4 hours and it becomes much more useful as a feature.
Btw the blessing of the raven queen has received a rather large buff, now you can teleport a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus

I am not sure anymore but i remotely recall the Raven Queen being a former elf who wanted to enter divinity in order to get the drow back into the light but the very moment she was about to succeed the spell plague hit and cast her into the shadowfell together with her followers that are now Shadar-Kai. (Please correct me if i am mistaken about this; also i would really like to know the sorucebook that states if it is actually correct. Also in the campaign i play in the Shadar Kai are at war with the empire my elf druid is an Heir too .o.

The last campaign I played I was allowed to play a Fey-ri.They are basically half elf half fiend. My Dm hard me tho the types of Elf and fiend I wanted to hybridize I choose a Shadar-ki chain devil. After about an hour of me telling him I really didn't want to play Pinhead I just thought it was a cool mix. We ended up nerfing the raven Queen blessing so that I didn't get the Damage res but instead I was able to move 10ft for every +1 in wis. He stripped my alter form ability and instead basically gave me a standard Shadar-ki form I could shift back and forth through at will. Finally he made me start off being 1\2 spine devil and ever 2 lvl I could take another Corresponding finish ability that he worked up on a table or I could evolve into the next devil caste. It was a really fun game.we had slot of unique characters.
I came across them in the new monsters of the multiverse book. Seeing this video I can tell they got a huge buff. I haven't gotten around to reading their lore yet so this video was really interesting and informative on that front. Still, I think I'll go with the character concept I have for my Shadar-Kai, which isn't all that edgy. Mine is simply an advanced scout looking for a new place on the prime material plane for their clan/tribe to safely settle into because they're tired of living in the Shadowfell.
I’ve played three campaigns so far in my life. 2 of them were Shadar-Kai characters, including my current campaign. Such a fun and versatile race to play! Blessing of the Queen FTW!!!!

Yes
Im playing one as a way of the shadow monk/battle master fightee and it's such a good race. The resistance to all damage after a teleport is huge.
Could I play this as a Druid?
