    Hey there, Julie! How's it shaking? I hope you're well and having a pleasant, fun and safe weekend. I realize this video was posted a month ago, but am so glad it popped up in my video feed and have found it so useful! Thanks so much for your incredible work to help people from around the world to master the American English pronunciation, which, in my opinion, is the BEST, by definition 😃 All the best!

      Hi Ahmed - Awesome, I'm so glad you liked this video! And hey, I have a quick favor to ask you. Would you mind telling other people about your experience with my videos? It would be very helpful if you left a review on my Google Business page (you can do that here: g.page/r/CRKVA27p84i0EBM/review). In "...,you thought it was a quarter." I can't hear the /θ/ sound at the start of the word "thought" when the actor says it. I hear the /g/ sound like "...,you got it was a quarter". "Got" instead of "thought". Anyone else?

    • @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent
      @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andy - Thanks for your comment and your question. Hmm, very interesting! I heard "thought" but sometimes people can hear different things! :)

  • @gilmardias5937

    I hear ' Well So don't leave it on..." with the flap 'd' in 'don't'.

    • @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent
      @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's definitely possible! The "d" is between vowels, and if the speaker says it fast enough, they can certainly pronounce it like a flap :) Thanks for your comment!

    I think Michael said "this just sticks", didn't he?
    Anyway it's irrelevant,
    The young guy is tough nut to understand even with script 😅

    when he said I messed up my hair, I didn't hear the d, isn't that a stop d?

    • @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent
      @SanDiegoVoiceandAccent  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi @guitar300k - Thanks for your question! The "ed" in the word "messed" is actually a /t/, not a stop /d/ :) I hope this clarifies things for you!

    • @guitar300k
      @guitar300k 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@SanDiegoVoiceandAccent yeah, I know after s is /t/, I don't know why I ask for /d/ but I still don't hear the /t/, is he reduced it, or it's just because of my ear?

  • @lingo4048
    @lingo4048 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent video 👍 "it tastes good" [tejsɡʊd]: the subject ‘IT’ is dropped, the T between two S is dropped, and then the two S merge in one S. Very interesting reduction!
