Swiss Train and Castle - Aarwangen Schloss - Aare Seeland Mobil

Aarwangen is a bit off the beaten path, but is a scenic spot on the River Aare and along the ASM narrow gauge line from Langenthal to Solothurn.
As this short film from spring 2021 shows, even many of the lesser known Swiss narrow gauge railways away from the touristic hotspots offer great scenery and wonderful postcard motifs. Aarwangen Castle dates back to the 13th century and is framed here by type Be 4/8 articulated EMUs from Stadler.

Aarwangen liegt beschaulich am gleichnamigen Fluss Aare und ist nur wenige Kilometer vom Bahnknoten Langenthal, wo auch der Betriebsmittelpunkt der Aare Seeland Mobil (ASM) ist. Früher war diese Schmalspurbahn im Schweizer Mittelland auch als Oberaargau-Jura-Bahnen (OJB) bekannt. Auf der Fahrt von Solothurn nach Langenthal gibt es diverse sehenswerte Highlights, obwohl diese liebliche Schmalspurbahn eigentlich keine Touristenbahn ist, sondern vor allem dem öffentlichen Verkehr dient.
