Thank you for creating this. I can never tire of perspectives on this film, my favorite film experience actually at 55, So special in so many ways and I appreciate this perspective on absence and agency. The talks that Celine gave explaining equality and consent and desire and gaze and how that was captured here by these wonderful women opened a wave of doors to me and I am so glad it exists. ❤️💔✌️🌈!
    Thanks for posting-
Edit- still listening to this on rough days, 2 yr later, this essay is really art, thank u!

I am so moved by your incredibly beautiful, sensitive, highly thought-provoking essay on "Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu". I have watched other videos on the topic: none come close to your perspicacious insights - you've brought forward several, every one of them resonate! - into this amazing film. I fully adore Celine Sciamma's genius: you do her work eloquent justice. Thank you!

Beautifully said and put together, thank you. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is definitely the most beautiful love story film I've ever seen in all my years.
