When I get a hit I like to cancel into 6c-623b-jc-airdash-heldjc-c-3c-jb-jc-throw. Does a little bit less damage than your bnb (around 100 less) but it is very consistent working at almost any ranges, any starters and doesn’t get hurt by scaling in most situations. So if anyone is struggling w these confirms this one may feel easier
I've been rewatching and taking notes and this is an amazing guide! I'm usually a bit of a slow learner but your neutral tips and block string advice have made an immediate effect on my game. Once I've mastered the Jump charge C I'm going to work on practicing some of these combos!

This guide was amazing!! You've got a new sub!! Was amazingly informational, with plenty of examples to see it in action. I've recently incorporated the blood heat on wakeup with 3BC and man has it been a godsend, especially against Arc or Kouma. The backdash I will experiment with more, since I've seen many ppl get away from my pressure that way as well. Lastly, that 2CC strat to end your block string is beautiful! It has even helped me make some neat comebacks, since many ppl think they can mash afterwards, allowing me to get a hit. Very well done guide, good stuff!

I did actually have a question though! for 214[A] and 214[B] (I think I notated that right. the held versions!) - what would the purpose of them be? just for mixing people up where they think an attack might come out and it doesnt?
i just watched this video since i've been curious how similar she is to nitroplus saber, after hearing they are both similar and really different. in case anyone's interested from my observations. the main similarity is that they both are rushdown characters. her 214B looks really similar in both games, and seem to be used pretty similarily. as a (near) full screen low. nitroplus saber has no rekkas, a helm breaker, dive kick that covers a lot more space, and sometimes crossup, or hit low because of the angle(chicken blocking or hitting her before startup prevents it from being broken). excalibur in nitroplus also has invul frames, and immediate startup after the super flash, so it some times can be used for hard call outs, where they can't react to super flashes. i personally dont see much nitroplus saber players backdash to bait much compared to just straight aggression with big buttons, with some mixups. i dont think she has the different visible and invisible sword modes as her nitro counterpart in melty. the way they play are probably really different because of odd game mechanics but it'd be an interesting comparison vid if you played nitroplus, and feel like making one. since there aren't too many content creators who played both games too much.
214A that launches them a little on block. Moon drive into normals when they are in the corner could be unblockable* my first thought on seeing that move. thanks for the guide ! really helps! Saber seems hard to mix with, so this came right in time. 214(B) also has an armor frame.
I'm having a real hard time getting your combos going. I can do the 2C -> 5C -> 5C seemlessly, but after that it falls apart trying to do the 236B >j[C]
@@Diaphone Hey. Any chance you have any sort of tips on how to actually enter 623 using the PS5 controller? I've been at it for a decent portion of the day and yikes I can do it 1/10 of the time. That input feels so janky on both the d pad and the stick. I'm assuming you don't use a controller to play though.
Whats a good way to deal with jC with armor? Its hard to challenge air to air against characters like her and kouma. Love your guides, youre very skilled

Are the clash frames/armor on the BE versions of 214 any good? I usually cancel them into 22C for a combo if I catch them with it but I feel like there is more to do with it

@@Diaphone Can't they keep her moveset consistent? (Think Capcom's Ryu, as he's always had the same moveset no matter which game he's in.) If she had her Fatal Fake moveset, I'd play her. I cannot stand the fact she has to get completely different movesets every game she's in. From Fatal Fake to Fate/unlimited codes to The Queen of Battlers II to Nitroplus Blasterz to Melty Blood Type Lumina her gameplay changes to a point that all 5 iterations are five separate characters. How inconsistent.

The numbers meant the direction of input, look at the numpad of your keyboard to have a general idea of it. 789 456 123 2c mean move your joystick down and press c .
I learned a couple of things for my oki. Last night I fought Roa player and I just could keep my turn at all after one combo. the jump forward than dash back is new to me so I'm add that to my options. Hopefully I can get to A rank soon. Long journey ahead of me to be one of the best Sabers out there. I hope for your help in the future DIaphone.
Bro great vid. Quick question: sometimes when I do the BnB with the 214B, sometimes Saber turns around and does her 1st rekka hit (236B) into the empty air on the other side of the screen. Any clue why that is or how to fix it?
Quick question: when I do 22C > 2C > 5CCC, I don't get the cut-in launcher and the enemy doesn't go too high. Am I supposed to/can you still continue with jBB?

Just FYI, it's not really a thing that's specific to Saber. Any character can do that type of OS, except usually you'll get crouch shield. Essentially, you can time your shield input, so that it only comes out if j.C whiffs. You can also do something like meaty 2A > 2D > any normal (you'd go for this off of throw, for example). If you time it just right, it will beat heat and invincible reversals.

Any tips on how to not auto combo, I have a habit of preloading all of my inputs but in melty instead of getting my next hit I just auto combo. Do I just need to slow down and be more deliberate with single inputs or is there a workaround? my worst example is as Saber when I hit 2C and try to 5C into 6C, I just autocombo instead, tbh I really wish I could just turn it off.
You asked about j.236C Well, with 4 bars, anything into j.236A > j.236C > 236B+C is the most damage you can get with 4 bars in a combo (of course, Last Arc does more damage, but well, you can't combo into it)
It is actually possible to combo into Last Arc using Moon Drive. j.236B/j.236B+C > 5B+C > ABCD. This works as an ender in shorter combos and does around 4.3k damage.
I feel like the rekka has there uses in different situations. The 236A>4A should mostly be used for spacing because the further away you are the more likely people can Shield the OH or low(if you delay it). The 236A>6A keeps you closer thus makes the mix less likely to be reacted to and keeps you in 22C range more consistently and still has the mix although they can potentially mash 5A on the OH. That's just my idea on it, anyway great video.

I use the air super basically only if I have to cash out 4 bars. Extended combo into air, land with air super into arc drive

its a typo - should be 623B (see timestamp) ( also make sure you jump cancel right away and do it immediately..

It's numpad notation (look at your keyboard). So 6 would mean forward. I think I'm going to include a guide for this kinda stuff in future vids.

I thought air 236C was plus on block? Never actually labbed it out. Could be useful if you need to close out a round with slightly more damage
It’s a gimmick since they can just shield on reaction and get a full punish
And yea agreed there are probably some combs that use it. Also I think it’s the only way to convert from j236a without using MD

It sounds like you are doing the rekka before going into autocombo?

Yea - system mechanics such as shield are really strong! Make sure you mix up your oki, use🙏 shield as well and keep practicing
