- Why do we hide our heads in the sand when we get confronted with a challenging reality? Ed explores what truths we hide from ourselves by drawing on his experience as a documentary maker and activist. Ed Winters or "Earthling Ed" devotes his life to be a voice for the voiceless as an animal rights activist. He went from a meat-eater to vegan and as a social media phenomenon, regular visitor as major new channels such as BBC, he advocates for animals using discussion and debate.

Also plants don’t have a brain or neurons such as serotonin - the happiness chemical. Oxytocin the bonding/ love chemical. Plants also don’t have pain receptors or a central nervous systems. Animals have all of those things and we should know that we are animals ourselves

I've been a vegetarian for three years but last week I decided to go Vegan. My morals did not align with my actions and that needed to change. These poor beings spend a life of suffering just for a few minutes of pleasure. I watched your documentary and it only consolidated my choice. Same here. Been following a plant based diet since the first lockdown. Should have done it sooner.. The issue is our brains have been brainwashed into eating meat for protein and drinking milk for calcium. People need to open their eyes and see what's really going on. We've been sold a lie.

yea like during this interview I didn't know about the pregnant cows and how their babies are sometimes still alive and cut out of their mom's stomach and killed brutally. And it made me cry because although I've been vegan for awhile I had no idea that was even a thing

I went vegan 2 years ago after becoming a wildlife photographer. It was something I never expected to ever happen. It has absolutely changed my life. My work had been published, I’ve connected with the world and the animals, and I get to tell their stories through images and text. We need to get back to nature and connect with the other incredible sentient beings of this world. This is such an important movement. Ed you are an asset. I admire you so much. Mad respect! ❤️✌🏻🌿

Which comes from substances like potash, nitrogen can be produced with amonia... most farms fertilize grain fields with products that definitely not animal based. no one uses bone meal and blood to grow wheat... completely inaccurate.
Great speech, Ed! If someone told me 15 years ago that I was going to be vegan, I would have told them they were crazy.....now that I'm vegan, I would never go back, and in addition, I've never been healthier than I am now.....best decision I ever made in my life....

What a humble and truly great soul. Spoken from the heart. "Earthlings", "Cowspiracy" were introduced to this 72 year old former meat eater by the enlightened 18 year old daughter of a friend. With the help of Ed's and others videos I have identified as vegan from 01/01/2019. Change is not only possible this late in life, it has also been the most spiritually rewarding and enlightening decision I have ever undertaken. And once you have your head around it it is ridiculously EASY!

@@gregoryrowlerson8457 hi ya, my cat aint on a vegan diet, my cat saw me upset based on ED's speech and comforted me by sitting on my lap and cuddling up to me :) He sensed something was wrong because daddy was crying, so he cuddled up hehe.
When I was a about 5, I remember looking at my hamburger up close and asking where it came from. The foster parent said cows. Like the milk you drink. I had seen farm picture books, and knew where the milk came from, but couldn't see ....they POOP IT OUT?!? No. They are killed and ground up.
That was 1958. Every meal for the next ten years involved meat, revulsion, and increased punishments. I became a vegetarian the day I moved out. Today, I'm fully vegan, giving up heavy cream for my coffee was last , but I couldn't rationalize it any more. To save a mom and baby anguish? It's worth it to me to give up coffee altogether if it comes to it. I was out in foster care at 1 yr old. Mother and child is a theme that I understand. Glad I found you here, thank you for your beautiful heart.

It’s actually pretty easy once you get use to it and it’s a small change compared to what the animals go through.

There are powerful values which we can hold on to in life and they are Love Hope and Faith. It’s better to be in a minority of kind compassionate people than in a majority of unconsciousness. As long as you are true to your own morals and values then you are in alignment spiritually. At the end of it all we are only ever responsible for our own thoughts and actions. Bravo, Ed! I especially like the way that you gave authoritarianism a solid smashing. Arrogance is directly linked with meat eating and is rarely mentioned. I have not eaten meat for 20 years and have heard it all .... When most people find out that I'm vegan, even without me saying anything about it myself or talking about the subject of food at all, there is almost always a verbal response. People start talking defensively, proudly, arrogantly, and with a plethora of excuses, trying to prove their point--all unsolicted by me. It has a ripple effect too. When one person starts commenting, others join in. I used to feel self-conscious but I ditched that years ago. Now I just stand in silence and smile and nod my head. Arguing always stirs up stronger defensiveness. I find it quite amazing that I have found out that several people that I used to know have dropped meat eating somewhere along the way :).
I really admire the way you are able to keep so calm while talking about such travesty!

Shelly, I'm happy for you and even happier for the animals. I started my vegan journey about the same time as you. It was a journey because the more I learned about the abuses the more I had to change. The ostrich effect was at work in me. I stopped eating flesh, but I thought well this (fill in the blank) doesn't cause suffering. Then I learned differently. I too regret not become enlightened sooner.
Although we have come a long way, the road ahead is even longer. Your are paving the way for those who don’t know the truth, don’t want to face it, or don’t think they’re capable of changing. You know it now, and you can change, like millions and millions of us have. Thank you for reminding us that being human comes with great power and great responsibility. A responsibility to treat all life with compassion and respect, even if that life happens to walk on all fours. Thank you, Ed.

I really enjoy how engaging Ed is without the use of video/photo evidence. He could have had slaughterhouse footage playing as he said his piece, but he eloquently expressed his points and it was still powerful. I met him when he was in Canada about 2 years ago and he seemed very humble and genuine. He asked what I did for a living, then my brother, him and I talked for a few minutes. Afterwards he hugged both of us and wished us well. I didn't even know who he was during that interaction so it is so incredible to hear him speaking to large crowds across the world with such passion and influence. Thank you for your efforts Ed

i've heard Ed say "15 minutes of sensory pleasure" for saying eating food a lot, today, I timed my meal, and it was 15 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed my huge bowl of rice with curry, mushrooms broccoli and onions and It was even better from not having chunks of flesh inside. honestly, people, try it.
