    Great review, I have both and love them, especially for hiking. Have you done a review on the Patagonia Untracked jacket? Two different jackets but advertise as being equally as warm and versatile.

      Thanks Ralph! They are both great jackets and I am glad you are digging them as well :). I have not used the Untracked... yet! I will reach out to Patagonia and get going on that. Thanks for putting that top of my mind. Take care! - Sean

    I just got a Nano Storm and it‘s quite funny how similar this jacket is to the BC Evertherm Jacket from Eddie Bauer. I first thought the DAS Light was close, but the Nano Storm is even more similar, almost identical. I‘m mot affiliated with EB btw. I just find it interesting how hard the industry tries to reinvent itself every season, but actually is just making someone elses jacket from 8 years ago, with some little modifications and sells it as the newest tech. Don‘t get me wrong, I love Patagonia stuff and own a lot of it. But when the same jacket costs 250$ CAD from one brand, and 500$ from another, I find that curious. Both jackets are very similar in cut, have a light waterproof shell, breathe well and have insulation. The EB jacket is actually down, so technically higher in value than a synthetic. The Nano Storm fits me a bit better and looks nicer, more matte in direct comparison between both in black color. The BC Evertherm is lighter in weight though which makes sense because it uses down insulation.

      That is good feedback. I have not used any Eddie Bauer gear, so I can not really comment on that. I do appreciate the comparison and feedback though! I will say, the Full Range synthetic insulation behaves differently than down, and I like it for that reason. I feel that down is an excellent insulation and use it often. But the Full Range dumps heat faster. And stretches, which I LOVE! I always appreciate your insights Ovi. Thanks and take care!

    Hello, for wearing around town, errands, etc. and not having a bunch of layers, would you recommend sizing down with this jacket? I'm 6'1 - 195lbs.

      100%. Size down. It’s a massive jacket.

    Great review man! Out of the Das Light, Nano storm, and regular das, which do you think is best for everyday hiking/disc golfing/ standing at dog parks? Absolutely loving my R1 Air crew. Keep up your reviews!!

      Hey Andrew! Thanks for the support, much appreciated! Stoked you have the R1 Air and are digging it too! Good question - I would say the DAS Light will cover most of that very well. Very wind resistant and warm. If you are getting warm while hiking and disc golf, then I would go with the Nano Storm. It dumps heat and yet keeps you warm. If you are needing more warmth, and dont mind the bulk, the DAS Parka would keep you warm down to the single digits. Dang, that did not answer your question very well LOL! Warm, weather proof, great pockets, dumps heat, has nice stretch and is quite - Nano Storm. Warm, wind proof, lighter weight, kind of noisy - DAS Light. SUPER warm, runs large, did I mention super warm? - DAS Parka. Hope that helps!

    Hi Séan, another great review. I also watched your review of the Patagonia DAS light hoody. I have one of those and love it!The only thing about that jacket is that it is not 100% waterproof. I have two questions: is the nano storm 100% waterproof? And secondly,, does it compare well in warmth, fit and lightness/ comfort to the DAS light? I am thinking of getting a companion piece to the DAS light that gives the extra benefit of being fully waterproof but also as comfortable as the DAS light. Thanks a million.

      Hey John! Yes, the Nano Storm is 100% waterproof. The H2No WPB membrane is great. It has treated me well in snowstorms and even some rain as well. The DAS Light is so great too. I would say it is warmer than the Nano Storm but is also a different kind of jacket. I would not wear the DAS Light for active, start-stop, cold weather activities. I would wear it if I was more stationary or walking the dogs. But splitboarding is serious work! LOL. The Nano Storm is not heavy but is heavier than the DAS Light. I keep it in my backcountry pack 90% of the time. I think it is a great investment and would serve you well. Between the DAS Light and the Nano Storm, you would be ready for anything! Plus, you could use them together in a pinch (DAS under Nano Storm) and have really great super cold weather protection. I hope that helps you my man!!

    Does it have the loop in the back that connects to your Patagonia pants?

    When you say the Nano Storm adds all the features of the Nano-air, does it really breath/dump heat equally well?

      I am also quite curious why they stopped making the Nano-Air Hybrid, with the ultra breathable back. I have one from 2018 and I love it, especially for hiking with a pack on (which I always do): www.patagonia.com/product/mens-nano-air-light-hybrid-jacket/84345.html

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brian! Great question and I also have (and love) the Hybrid. With the 2.5 layer, WPB shell on the Nano Storm does not breath as well as the Nano-Air. But..... it breathes super great compared to a normal hard shell. I run very hot, and can not usually tour in a hardshell. I can tour all day in the Nano-Air. Hope that helps!

    • @OneWeekGetAway
      @OneWeekGetAway 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Engearment Thanks, did you mean you can tour all day in the Nano-Storm, or only the Nano-Air, because the Nano-Storm would not be breathable enough? Also how would you compare the Nano-Air to the Nano-Air Lite Hybrid?

    The most important question about the nano air, where did you buy that with those colors. I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find. Great vids!!!

      @@Engearment maybe one of the discontinued option then. I hate why a lot of these companies do this. They come out with awesome colors and then replace them with some basic single color 🤦🏻‍♂️. Anyways, keep up the great work, watch your vids for anything I’m looking for!
