If you want to reduce lethality a bit more terrain helps. Bigger buildings(in terms of width more than height), ruins and forests are particularly good. Large rocks also good. And another tip. When setting up buildings don't put them in square grid formation but instead sort of rotate 30-60 degree. Simple way imagine(or put) roads from corner to corner and put buildings adjacent to that. Well unless your deployment zones are corner to corner!
God I know - KNOW - to put buildings at an angle and didn't do it for this or, spoilers, the next one either 😖😅 No excuses, absolutely none. I've had a few people suggesting forests and area terrain in general, and I'm currently working on some alien plants alongside my shiny new Mechanicum army for the next game 😁 My excuse for not having it is that I saw a video that claimed LI is all about the buidings so I went in hard on them 😅 Thanks so much for the feedback, I hope you enjoy the future videos 😁
@@Chipperz1i find mix of terrain works better. For one ruin/forest blocks los which can be even better than building. For 2nd building does little for vehicles. Forest while slows provide -1 to hit and cover save. Also if terrain is just buildings if one side brings tons of infantry drags game down...or results in lopside when other side brings some bunker busters... All building, one side has tons of infantry, other side brings double conversion beam knight. Have fun. Reaver with triple gravitons? 3 building/turn and infantry inside...
Great to see an LI video! There was a rush of them when the game first came out, and then nothing. Round here it's definitely being played, and judging by Facebook, the same is true elsewhere, but the Warhammer youtubers all seem to have moved on.
Ah that's a shame, if's a great little game! Not gonna lie, I'm hoping we see Mechanicum, Custodes and Ruinstorm Daemons at some point to really get this party started 😁
Great battle report. I think the baneblade, with its 2+ save, would have survived better if it wasn't for the mistake of using armourbane from the predators on round 1, they should have taken no damage as the 2 damage that went through were because of rerolling the save. However the baneblades are still a bit expensive I think. Looking forward to seeing more battle reports and particularly the Kratos in action. I think the full battle cannon + full lascannons should put some work in against other vehicles.
Thank you so much! And god I hope so, it was a VERY big fuck up on my part and it's not fair how much it soured my opinion on super heavies... More is coming! The armies had a bit of a battle with gravity (I dropped the box 😭), but they're both reinforced and I understand the rules better 😎
@@Chipperz1 Glad to hear the armies are ok amd there will be more LI battle reports. Not going to lie, even from my limited experience, its seems super heavies and titans are in a bad spot if you take the right weapons, one example being the armour bane leman russ vanguisher. The baneblade does seem to compare poorly for the cost compared to the kratos, however the kratos needs to get closer to operate efficiently so need infantry support more.
Yeeeah, lots of little tanks feels like the more sensible option, which is... Suboptimal, seeing as super heavies are awesome :P I'll see how things go when I get a chance to play again and I know the difference between Anti Tank and Armourbane...
@@Chipperz1 Don't worry, we get the effects of Tracking and Skyfire and Tracking array mixed up all the time, and we are constantly double-checking Light AT vs. Armoured and that sort of thing. I love the game, but I hate the weapon trait names, they are terrible
Ha! Yuuup... I guess this'll get easier with experience. I assume. I hope. ...It won't get easier. 😭 This is the price we pay for tiny Leman Russes, I guess?
Yeah! 😁 It's back to being pure Horus Heresy and is now sliiightly bigger? It's about 8mm rather than 6mm, but there's a decent amount of DNA from older editions 😁

Too excited for preamble, it's time for tiny carnage! 😁 Thanks very much 😁

This is one of the most low-effort battle reports on youtube. No gaming mat and unpainted buildings.
People seem to like it 🤷♂️
