In my family, no one really knew what an MLM was, but we were told to avoid “shady” companies. That’s how my grandma described Avon, Amway, etc. - “shady.” Even though there was no real dialogue surrounding these companies back in the day, a lot of folks knew to avoid them. They knew intuitively that something wasn’t right.

  • @CHloE748

They are either delusional or just plain lying (I think we all know which one it is) when they constantly say that even in a recession where no one can afford anything, barely even being able to buy food, Monat won’t be affected because shampoo is a necessity to everyone. When people start struggling financially the FIRST thing that goes is extremely expensive products that aren’t necessary when you can get something from Walmart for $5 instead.. Sure people will still need to wash their hair but they will go to an affordable option instead 🙄

    • @purplhaze5464

there actually was a phenomenon during the 2008 recession where high-end cosmetics was one of the few industries to remain relatively stable, but those were real reputable brands that actually produce a higher-quality product, not some basic overpriced mlm garbage.
bc let’s be real, just bc their shampoo is $84 a bottle or whatever doesn’t mean it’s actually worth that! it’s an average product at best and harmful to users at worst.

on top of that, many people chase after (for example) shampoo that aids their specific hair type. i have to use special specific shampoos because my hair gets greasy/oily quickly, and i have natural curls/wavy hair, AND my hair gets dried out easily. and yet i can find a good shampoo at walmart that helps my hair more than a $75 bottle of shampoo💀

It’s so sad to see veronicas live today and how Jo her sister isn’t talking to her since she switched MLMs. That’s how you KNOW Monat is toxic. Like sis that’s your baby freaking sister. Your the bigger sister and you won’t talk to your little sister because she stepped away from something that didn’t make her happy? (obvi to another MLM which is wack) Where’s your integrity? Speaking as a Hispanic like literally that’s your hermana, so upsetting you let something you both succeeded in tear you apart. Familia first. Business second. Period. Monat destroying families out here 🤦🏻🙃 idk there family behind the scenes but attitudes switched like night and day. SMH

25:07 : it looks like she is praying or affirming, trying to brainwash herself.. and downlines HAVE to attend these ridiculous calls where they learn nothing, just hearing girls trying to brainwash them praying and making noise for nothing! I feel so bad for them..😢
Years ago, I was pitched an mlm, and considered the idea for 30 minutes because the woman was talking about trainings.. I just wanted to learn how to make my own business, rather than sell their crap. But if that is the training, then I am really blessed to have said no.

The privilege of these girls has to say that during a recession their products are still going to be useful… If someone is missing out on income chances are they’re going to reduce the products they put in their hair or cheap out on some of the expensive products and switch them for more affordable ones until they’re able to get back up and running financially

Do you mean like the times when I gave up my relaxing time at home to travel over an hour and a half to visit my sick mum? I’m actually shocked they never followed with the other large teams to either igenius or Q-Sciences! More so now, my personal opinion is that with the several mass exodus Monat has seen in the past several months, it’s going to be HARDER (thank god) to recruit, so I’m sure we’ll continue to see that downward trend (with a steeper slope, a term I’m certain no one in igenius is familiar with 😂) as we saw from the exposed conference with the top leaders a few months back.

and I'm laughing at her usain and elon argument. For all she knows Usain could have tried 20 sports before settling on sprints because he enjoyed/was good at them. and Elon HAS publicly shifted around like a billion times. (and he's terrible at all of them.)

@33:37 - since the majority of MLM huns seem to be Evangelicals/Christians that were religiously manipulated into their MLMs - I wonder if there is any correlation between those Evangelicals/Christians that believe in Salvation by Works and this toxic never stop working "business" mind set. It is the exact same attitude people who believe in Salvation by Works have - they must do everything good and perfect: tithe all their money, volunteer for every role at church, participate in all the ministries, talk only about God, never show a "negative" emotion and on and on and on... From a Biblical standpoint it is completely mistaken - the only way you can have Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. But most people forget about that. Anyways, since a lot of times it feels to me that these Huns proselytize for their MLM far more than they ever have for their God, I wonder if they are also shifting that toxic "Salvation by Works" mindset to the MLM also. It breaks my heart for them.

Sooooo, let's pretend that their 3 million customers is current and that they are really selling 70% to outside customers. Let's also play pretend and say that, on average, the customers and MPs spend approximately the same amount of money on products over the course of whatever period of time this covers. 3 million divided by 7 is approximately 428,571 people. Multiply THAT number by 3 is 1,285,714 MPs buying from them (this is the 30%). We all know there's aren't 1.3M MPs.
According to the US income disclosure, there were just under 300K MPs in the US last year. It seems unlikely that the other countries where Monat is sold has anywhere near that amount combined. But I'm willing to be generous and say there's 600K MPs worldwide. If that's the case, the MPs are buying twice as much product as customers. Just those numbers, where I'm trying to give Monat the benefit of the doubt, show that the MP is the real customer.
This figure is also pretending that MPs aren't using different credit cards or family members to buy and maintain rank, which we know happens all the time. These women need to learn that they shouldn't throw out ANY numbers because there are people out there that can extrapolate WAY more than they think from just analyzing the two numbers they threw out there.
