Coastal Cottage is one of the main reasons I started using mods, honestly. Used them for years. Lately, I've gone back to mod- less playthroughs, mainly for the challenge, but also for achievements. I play on X Box S, and I find that even with mods that fix FPS or that delete assets (like Scrap Everything), I still have frame drag when entering settlements, though. I usually only do one full bar just to be safe
I can't blame you for using mods here. If I used mods I'd totally trash the house and all the "non-scrappable" junk so I could start "clean" in the area!
0:17 Lots of concrete and right angles. 1:14 I guess I like getting in fights. Coastal Cottage is one I love to roll in the mud with. 4:20 This extended patio area is a creative way of dealing with the terrible terrain in front of the garage. Good thinking. 6:13 Meth lab? 7:27 The inside of the main house turned out well. Hard to even tell it was the Coastal Cottage house. 9:29 One of the first videos I made was showing how to do norespawns bunker without any of the DLCs. In his video he says it was literally impossible to do without the DLCs.... Challenge accepted. ......Nostalgic Lilly also had a really cool short film she made about a bandit stealing fruit from Leonard's nearby stand and bringing it back to a norespawns type bunker but unfortunately TH-cam says she has it set to private now. 14:06 I like the angled Chill Pill Clinic sign. It seems like you're always trying to make the neon more interesting with the way it is placed instead of just relying on the normal left to right snapping all the time. 14:18 I'm pretty sure that is brahmin manure after dining on too many mutfruits. 17:35 Great name. Love it! 21:37 I'm not sure turpentine is a good treatment option. 21:57 My imagination says the last person was completely covered in dirt, leaves, and branches before bathing. Nice work. Especially the junk decor.
Hi Sheck! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. :) When I did my original Coastal Cottage build the most complicated thing I could do was follow norespawn's video on glitching that prefab into the hole. I had no idea that principle could be used in other ways! The area in front of the garage is nuts. I'm convinced the designers made this location as difficult as possible to build on as a gag or something. The house was the biggest challenge in this entire build. I think I spent most of one play session just figuring out how to get the walls and floors to fit. Lots of overlapping glitching! I do like doing something different with the neon letters. I need to get more accustomed to using it the way you have in making unique looking symbols by overlapping them. Ha ha, in my brain the turpentine is used in part as a cleaning liquid and in "folk medicine" recipes (this was mostly after reading the Wiki on it). :) I like your explanation for the bathtub!
I loved this build. Having just done some work in my game on the site opening it up for the Railroad and having to deal with the site and it's difficult limitations, it brought a smile to my face in how you overcame them with such great design and space within each structure. inspirational really for someone who is only getting into some settlement building since the PS5 update. I have punchased the DLC and various work shops DLC's but still haven't unlocked all of the buildable items from the various DLC's such as Nuka World or Far Harbor, let alone the vaultec and other workshop DLC's. I really should complete those so I can access more buildable items. You really are producing the best combinations (scaffold, wood, metal etc) from what I've seen on TH-cam and will spend a lot more time watching your videos. I personally would like to see more "Lets build" videos like the Shack build one you did at Ten Pines...Things like Shops, Bars or Clinic builds, guard towers and defence structures and that sort of thing if you get the opportunity. Thanks again for the super high quality content. Superb work, I love it.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing such detailed thoughts. :) I'm working on a new playthrough myself and I'm in a similar position - having to do all the various DLCs and adventures to unlock items. It's a fun journey!
Honestly so jealous of your creativity you make me want to not use mods because you’ve shown an incredible amount of variance and aesthetic without using them (I can’t give up place anywhere but everything else can go at this point). Hard to not just want to steal everything from you! I also must say I have this ocd need where I feel I have to wall every settlement entirely with junk fences, but the more I keep watching your videos I really see that you don’t have to go to such a crazy extent and still have it feel secure with specific guard posts at certain points. You’re really inspirational man one of my favorite new finds!!!!
I totally get what you mean about walls. If the build limits and memory issues were not as much of an problem I'd probably do more walls. Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I do have a build in mind but it may take me some time to do. In the meantime I'm going to probably do at least two more "FAQ Tips" videos.
As always, great level of detail, what makes it really interesting and lived-in. I released a settlement recently and turn it into a rainforest. Your settlement gives me some ideas, to put some more details into it. Keep it up
I was so gagged by that railroad trap door. Such a great idea and execution ❤
Thank you! I thought it was a fun idea and it worked out better than I had originally anticipated. :)

@@BWTF_Ben I learned something new today. A quick search shows turpentine has been used as medical treatment. Thanks for the lesson.

A lovely build and tour! I enjoy your explanation of everything!
Thank you kindly!
Your settlement builds are always such an inspiration! Lovely work with an otherwise horrible build spot. This made me far less afraid of it
Thank you kindly for the comments! It's a challenge for sure, so if you like a challenge this is the spot for you!

Fantastic work!
Your voiceover with the subtle music is top notch, not to little, not to much.
Amazing as always, glad you are still making vids. So many people have stopped now. Keep going 💪🏼😄

@@BWTF_Ben great! Looking forward to it 😃
Your use of scaffolding has changed how I build. Your settlements are amazing.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Those scaffolding is awesome to use. I highly recommend all builders use it.
Scaffolding is dope. I mainly use it for turret station stuff, but it and railing can add a lot to other things you stick in places
As always, great level of detail, what makes it really interesting and lived-in. I released a settlement recently and turn it into a rainforest. Your settlement gives me some ideas, to put some more details into it. Keep it up
Thank you! That sounds amazing. Can't wait to see renders from what you're working on!
The weekend Begin and Benson drop a New video. What a perfect way to relax post work
Thank you so much for the kind words. :)
Nice work! That is, indeed, a challenging settlement to put it mildly, LOL!
Another great build. How many settlers do you have here? I wonder why there isn't housing for the settlers that don't have assigned quarters. Cheers.
It's not a lot, a little over a dozen I believe. They do all have assigned beds scattered throughout the settlement. :)
Just waiting for the voice of Peter Cullen....This is coastal cottage.... Very cool build !!
Thank you!
Love your lore-friendly style
Thank you so much. :)
Been a while! Welcome back to the Commonwealth!!
Thank you! Hope you got to check out my Spectacle Island builds too. :)
Bravo!
Thanks!
youve got the touch...
When I was trying to build over the infamous hole, settlers would go down there just as I laid plank. Is it wrong to leave them down there? :p
No.
If they want to be down there, who are we to stop them?
Where did you get the chain link fence pieces?
I *think* you may be referring to the fence pieces on the Junk Fences? Please provide a time stamp and I'll confirm. :)
Fuz Ro Da it, prove u not using mods.😆
