- Today I swap out the old cross member, install new STi steering rack, new Advanced clutch/flywheel and remove wire harness. There will be a more detailed wire harness install video offered on iWire’s TH-cam that I’ll add the link below for when it’s made available.

So back in ‘90 friends and I stayed with a friends uncle on el Camino royal? Hit up a badass skate shop, met cool peeps and thought we were at Buckys house on his mini ramp. This was around the Ray Barbie Powell peralta time. Got run the fuck off the China Banks, Turns out we were at Danny Ways house. For real. And the empty fountain at Golden Gate Park from the H-Street video was our last spot before we went home to Illinois. Goddamn the 90’s were Cool! Love ya buck.

If you leave the p/s, the alt, and the a/c connected and remove the belts and lay the p/s to the pass side and the alt and a/c comp to the driver side. I was shown this 20 years ago by a Subaru Senior Master and have just found it easier when pulling the engine to do a swap or for repairs. You can drain the pump & res off the engine, then change to the wrx pump & res too.

You need a Goddess of Clutch skin in THPS 1+2!
It seems like no one uses a torque wrench anymore.
Anyway when doing the final tightening with rubber suspension bushings make sure the control arm/ lateral links are at ride height. Otherwise the bushing will tear from too much twist during full compression.
Unfortunately showing all the torque wrenching/info would have added a few minutes to the edit. We did it though where it’s called for.
My suspension is getting properly done as we mentioned but yeah you are correct.
That's good to hear Bucky. I just see so many vids where things are put together with electric impacts and that's all.

I put a 06 Forester Alternator 115amp in my 96 Impreza. 2 pin car and 3 pin alternator. You don't need the third wire
Im still just so jealous that you have not one but two cherry RS's in 2020 (not too mention now they're swapped). I couldn't find one decent one 15 years ago ffs!

You don't have to stick with the older alternator. I have a newer style in my 95. (Bought it for my 2002 B4) Just needed to buy the connector to adapt it.

So, while looking at my swap, and the shims for the control arms. My logic says that if you put the washers on the Rear of the arm instead of front and back, it should get you a little bit better caster angle. Because you are essentially pushing the a arms towards the front of the car

The blue RS was really just my not so beater daily until it needed a head gasket and then it’s all Brian and Lances fault from there. Mostly Lance😂

Would you clarify the reason for the WRX throttle cable? Simply longer?
Why the new pivot ball with the new clutch fork? I get the old fork wearing out, but the pivot?

Yes the WRX throttle cable is longer but can modify older as stated in video to work and pivot ball should be changed due to it wearing on fork.

I put a 06 115 amp alternator in my 96 Impreza. You just don't use the one pin.
So after this car is all wrapped up then you gotta get Brian to drop in on vert since you guys are learning a lot from each other lol.

My blue RS has Method 503’s and my white widebody has a full Sti swap including hubs, etc.

How much HP do you gain? What is the power to time/$ ratio?
Roughly 50-75hp but most importantly is the cost when you compare the swap to just replacing the head gasket for about $2g more.
